Reserved for climbers or at least climbing enthusiasts... This climb alternates between steep sections and false flats. Be careful on the last kilometre, though, you'll need to keep some energy in the tank! Head towards the southern exit of Luchon and take the D 125, which will take you to the Luchon-Superbagnères resort.

Trail accessible in winter. A Nepalese bridge 50 metres above the torrent at the gates of Luchon! The footbridge, inaugurated in 2017, replaces the one destroyed by the floods of 2013 and connects the two banks along its 35 metres. The footbridge spans the Pique, which emerges at this point from the Marie-Louise chasm 50 metres above the gorges. Start behind the thermal baths (trail no. 52), cross the Superbagnères road, approach the Castel-Ielh tower and descend to reach the footbridge.

Trail accessible in winter. A wooded hike reserved for experienced hikers, the climb is a little steep. Magnificent beech and fir forest. Starting opposite the Saint-Mamet cemetery, the climb is steep and through the forest. You will reach the Herran road.

Discover a wild and panoramic mountain bike route linking the Barèges and Portillon passes. Between aerial ridges, ancient beech forests and breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, this route offers a concentrate of adventure and nature. Ideal for demanding mountain bikers in search of memorable landscapes and authentic experiences.

This is one of the first routes offered during the "La Lapébie" cycle race. The route includes one category 2 pass and two category 1 passes: the Col des Ares (average gradient 3.9%, maximum gradient 11%), the Col de Menté (average gradient 6.6%, maximum gradient 11.4%) and the Col de Portillon (average gradient 6.8%, maximum gradient 8.2%). Take the D125 towards Cierp-Gaud and then Fronsac to tackle the first challenge: the Col des Ares. Then head to Juzet d'Izaut and Sengouagnet and follow the signs for the Col de Menté. The descent takes you to Saint-Béat-Lez, where you head towards Spain to reach Bossost. You then tackle the last challenge of the day: the Col du Portillon. Each bend in this climb honours one of the Spanish winners of the Tour de France, until you reach the monument listing all their victories. The view is well worth a stop to take in the scenery.

Ideal for preparing for more challenging rides. The advantage of this easy route with little elevation gain is that you can repeat it as many times as you like or do it in small loops (5 km: Luchon / St-Mamet / Montauban-de-Luchon / Luchon or 7 km: Luchon / St-Mamet / Montauban-de-Luchon / Juzet-de-Luchon / Luchon). The route starts from the 4 chemins car park in Montauban-de-Luchon. You will then set off on a tour of the Luchon valley, passing through the villages of the Luchon valley. You will head towards Saint-Mamet to reach Luchon, then the villages of Moustajon, Antignac, Salles-et-Pratviel and Juzet-de-Luchon before returning to Montauban-de-Luchon.

This challenging climb through the forest will take you to a splendid viewpoint. Start behind Place Gabriel Rouy (market), on Chemin de Superbagnères. The trail starts on the left, then turns right before tackling the steep climb. You'll come out of the forest under the Renards ski lift, then reach the plateau (3 hours one way).

Discover the Granges de Gourron, nestled in the mountains not far from Superbagnères. Discover one of three routes to this resort with its exceptional views, on a plateau at an altitude of 1,800 metres. Starting from Rue Laity, you will arrive at the Houga meadow and then the barns of Gourron. The track leads you to Lake Arbesquens at the bottom of the slopes of the Luchon-Superbagnères resort. Continue along the slopes to reach the plateau.

Trail accessible in winter. This balcony trail offers an original way to see Luchon. There are some lovely views. Start from the Chemin de Superbagnères behind Place Gabriel Rouy (market). Take the path to the left, passing the Palo deth Mailh spring and under the cable car line. Here, you enter the Bosquet des Thermes to reach the Parc des Thermes.

The itinerary is fully secure and all equipment adheres to strict safety regulations. You will be provided with everything you need: harness, helmet, ropes and carabiners. At the end of your activity, tea and coffee will be served in a traditional shepherd's hut. The 200 m outward and 180 m return zip lines are suspended on a cable between two mountains. They are accessible to everyone aged 5 and over. The sensations are guaranteed for zero effort! In summer, a guinguette is open every evening in July and August (6pm–10.30pm), with music, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), tapas, platters, and payment by credit card or cash. A different food truck line-up is offered every day, open to all: - Monday: Royal Fish & Chips - Tuesday: Better Call Flow (homemade burgers) - Wednesday: Paella - Thursday: Rôtisserie Ô Poulet d'Or - Friday: Bar à viande (Saint Gaudens) - Saturday: Asian cuisine - Sunday: Rotisserie A small farmers' market takes place on Tuesday evenings. The campsite is close to many activities: hiking, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, thermal baths, markets and cultural events. Places such as the Parc des Thermes, the Casino and the Luchon cable car are within walking distance.

The location of the Espingo refuge makes it ideal for exploring the mountain environment. Bordered by the Lacs d'Espingo and de Saoussat, it is the scene of many a mountaineer, angler, hiker and nature lover... So, whether you're on your own, with your family or with friends, we invite you to come up on stage and share the show with us. Situated in the Larboust valley, a beautiful glacial valley, the Espingo refuge is halfway between the Val d'Astau, one of the last bastions of mountain pastoralism, and the high peaks of the Luchonnais (highest concentration of Pyrenean 3000s). La Soulan, l'Ensoleillée in Occitan, is nestled in a small mountain village, facing due south. This converted former barn offers a magnificent view of the 3000m peaks. For the Christmas and New Year holidays: minimum 3-night rental for the entire gîte on a half-board basis (breakfast and meals served by the owners). The rest of the year, a minimum of 1 night's rental, per room, on a half-board basis. Jean-François and Nathalie welcome you in a very friendly family atmosphere for a stopover or a stay around their table d'hôtes in the evening for a 'nature' stay... You have access to the same terrace as the Dream Team room: rate €91/room/night. - On the first floor is the Double room with 1 bed 140*190cm and the Twin room with 2 beds 90*200cm. These two rooms have a shared bathroom with bath and toilet on the landing: rate €53/room/night. Fifth room: Mezzanine with 2 beds 90*200cm and 1 bed 140*200cm with private shower room and toilet: price 91€/room/night. Refuge on the edge of Lac d'Oô. After around 1 hour's walk, you'll reach one of the most beautiful sites in Occitanie, with its majestic 275m waterfall. Catering and accommodation (half-board) are available on reservation. Snack bar. Refreshment bar, ice cream and desserts. The refuge has room for 25 people (on the first floor), with 5 rooms for 2 people, 2 rooms for 1 person and 2 dormitories for 6. Shared shower room and toilet. Lac d'Oô is a natural glacial lake in the Pyrenees at an altitude of 1505m. It was raised by 10m by a dam in 1921 and now covers 42ha with a depth of 67m and a capacity of 15 million m3. Tapped by a gallery, it supplies the Oô hydroelectric power station in Luchon. Its name is particularly well known to cruciverbists. A popular destination for Pyrenean hikers, one of the attractions is its 275m-high waterfall. The trail continues beyond the lake to the Espingo and Saussat lakes, and then higher up to the Portillon lake. Accommodation (half-board) by prior arrangement.
