Trail accessible in winter.
A Nepalese bridge 50 metres above the torrent at the gates of Luchon! The footbridge, inaugurated in 2017, replaces the one destroyed by the floods of 2013 and connects the two banks along its 35 metres. The footbridge spans the Pique, which emerges at this point from the Marie-Louise chasm 50 metres above the gorges.
Start behind the Thermes (path no. 52), cross the route de Superbagnères, approach the Tour de Castel-Vielh and climb down to reach the footbridge.
1 - Start your hike behind the thermal baths.
7 - Return by the same route or continue after the footbridge to join the Col du Portillon road and return to Luchon via the village of Saint-Mamet.
2 - Just above you will come to the old Crémaillère route (780m), which you will follow for 200m and then turn left. Follow the path through the woods, which at times offers lovely views over the valley and Luchon.
3 - Cross the torrential flow by a small bridge and you will reach the road to Superbagnères.
4 - Cross the latter to pick up your route opposite (to the right of the Skioura gîte).
5 - A short climb leads up to the Castel Vielh tower, followed by a short descent to the footbridge.
6 - The return journey takes the same route or you can continue past the footbridge to join the Col du Portillon road and return to Luchon via the village of Saint-Mamet along the road.
