Trail accessible in winter.
A Nepalese bridge 50 metres above the torrent at the gates of Luchon! The footbridge, inaugurated in 2017, replaces the one destroyed by the floods of 2013 and connects the two banks along its 35 metres. The footbridge spans the Pique, which emerges at this point from the Marie-Louise chasm 50 metres above the gorges.
Start behind the thermal baths (trail no. 52), cross the Superbagnères road, approach the Castel-Ielh tower and descend to reach the footbridge.
1 - Start your hike behind the thermal baths.
2 - The small path winds upwards; higher up, you will pass close to the Fontaine d'Amour (Fountain of Love).
3 - Just above, you will arrive at the old Crémaillère trail (780 m), which you will follow for 200 m before turning left. Follow the trail through the woods, which offer occasional views of the valley and Luchon.
4 - Cross the torrential stream via a small bridge and you will arrive at the Superbagnères road.
5 - Cross this road and continue on the route opposite. There is a short climb to pass the Castel Vielh tower.
6 - A short descent will take you to the footbridge.
7 - Return by the same route or continue after the footbridge to join the Col du Portillon road and return to Luchon via the village of Saint-Mamet.
