Located on the banks of the Rhône, Islon St Luc is part of a Natura 2000 protected area. The area is of particular interest for its flora and fauna, and boasts a beautiful natural ensemble with a wide variety of species and natural habitats.Trees are dotted all over the area making it a nice place where families and older generations will enjoy going for a walk. Joggers and ramblers can make use of the health circuit set up there. Picnics can be enjoyed on the stone benches and tables in the shade of tall trees. Make sure you visit the Arboretum set up by the town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the National Forestry Office. It gives you the opportunity to find out about some surprising varieties of trees. L’Islon is the starting point for discovery trails such as the ecological trail, which invites visitors to (re)discover the natural heritage of Bras des Arméniers (distance: 2 km). Information panels along the way explain how the natural environment of Islon Saint Luc works. This is also the starting point for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape natural heritage trail. It goes along the banks of the Rhone and the converted towpath. It features a series of historic and environmental information panels. 10 km circuit. Les Castillones" is the name of the ridge that proudly dominates the village from the west. Discover an exceptional panorama going from the Dentelles de Montmirail to the Mont Lozère passing by the Mont Ventoux, all in the heady scents of the garrigue. From the parking lot on avenue de la République, go to the place des Halles. Turn right on rue Henri Pitot then turn right to reach avenue Jean Moulin (sign "Aramon-Le Choisity") Turn left to take "l'avenue de la Gare" then left "le chemin des amandiers". Follow the red and white markings of the GR42. Turn right on "le chemin des oliviers". Pass over the railroad tracks and continue straight ahead. At the intersection turn right "chemin de plane d'houmé" and continue straight on for 2.6km (sportive climb). You will pass near the signs "Croix de Garbure", "Les Rompudes", "Combes de Gibarau" and "Taoule Messe". At the "Portail de la Planet d'Oume" turn left and follow the path (yellow markings) for 2km. At the sign "Les Castillones" turn left and continue the path for 1.4km. At the signpost "Quartier du Fangas" go straight on for 300m then turn left at the signpost "Valorière" to return to the village of Aramon by the "Croix de Garbure". Then take the path of the departure (red and white markings).

A looping tour of the historic site of the Popes' summer residence and a gastronomic mecca. After passing through the village, the tour takes you to the famous vineyards, where you'll discover a landscape of pebbles and vines.

Surprising walk where you will discover clay pitons shaped by erosion offering a show of forms and colors where a particular fauna and a flora settled. Not recommended the day after the rain because the ground is slippery. The Fosses de Fournès form a lunar landscape with very strong geological features. It's a special place for the flora and fauna that live there. Kermes oaks, wild lavender and rosemary blend into the clay landscape. The former clay quarry stretches along a gentle gradient that keeps you going up and down. The slopes are designed to make your walk easier. There's something fascinating about the landscape, which will take you on a journey from the Moon to the Gardon, via the vineyards. Not recommended after rain, as the terrain is very slippery. From the Grand Rue parking lot in Fournès village, turn left towards the Mairie. Walk along the stadium, then past the cemetery. Follow the route de théziers, then turn left at the Parefeuille factory. Follow the road for 1km, then turn left towards Les Fosses de Fournès. Along the way, you'll come across pitons between ten and thirty meters high, the highest of which is called "La Mourre de Pitaraçon". Then continue towards Fournès via Les Escarpettes. Turn left towards Fontaine de Nocquet, then left again to reach the village. You will pass the Cave Coopérative to reach the Grand Rue parking lot.

Come and discover Saint-Michel de Frigolet Abbey , in the heart of the Montagnette massif! From the car park, head for the Saint-Michel de Frigolet Abbey. Take the path on the right that goes along the wall. Follow the rocky track towards "Boulbon 1h", then 100 m after the trail on the left. At the next intersection, continue in the middle of the kermes oaks to the track to cross twice. 1- At the next crossing, follow the indication "Boulbon 50mn". After the small collar, go straight down, then climb a second hill. Shortly after, cross the drivable track at the end of the valley to go up on the hill opposite. Cross successively two other valleys. Continue, leaving the basin on the left. 100 m after, cross a track, then take the path towards a factory chimney visible in the distance. 2- Then descend to Boulbon, through the valley of Saint-Michel. At the end of this gorge, turn right and follow the marking of red dots to access the Bonnet mill and its panorama (30 min return trip). Once back at the foot of the gorges, reach the village by the Gaston de Raousset street. 3- At the junction of the end of this street (fire hydrant), take the left for Barri street, then the second right on Météline street. Continue on the Breuil path, to the road. 250 m after the purification plant, turn on the road on the left marked PR (yellow), then find the road again on 100 m. 4- Take the intersection and follow “Pas de Bouquet” path. After 2 km, turn left towards "Saint-Michel de Frigolet abbey 1h40" by the San Salvador path. Continue for about 3 km. 5- At the highest point of the Montagnette (San Salvador, 161 m), dive by a small path on the right. At the crossing in "T” form then take a left. At the next two crossroads, always take the left. 6- Turn right on the track, then at the junction forming a triangle continue to the right. Find shortly after the departure path, "abbey of Saint-Michel of Frigolet 10mn".

Leave the small village of Caderousse by a temporary Via Rhôna trail that leads to the peaks of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards before entering Avignon." The route climbs up around 1 km and crosses through hillside vineyards affording beautiful views over the Rhone Valley. After Sorgues and as far as Pontet, the 3.5-km route through industrial and commercial areas demands more vigilance until the greenway running along the canals, at the entrance to Avignon, a stunning way in to the former City of the Popes. If you have children in tow, it may be easier to take the train from Sorgues or Orange to Avignon.

Nice family hike through the woods to discover the ancient remains of the Roman Aqueduct up to the Pont du Gard. This walk plunges you into the scrubland, the olive groves, the dry stone walls, the forests of green oaks... From the Place de la Madone parking lot in Remoulins : Go up the street near the Tourist Office (Place des grands jours) and cross the Remoulins new bridge. At the traffic circle, turn right and drive past the Communauté des Communes building. At the "Combe Pradier" sign, turn left and head towards "le sablas" for 2.5 km (uphill). At the "le sablas" sign, continue straight ahead on the GR6 (red and white markings) for 500m. At the "Valmale" signpost, turn right and continue on the GR6 (red and white markings) for 1.5 km. You'll come across remains of the Aqueduct on your way and a superb panorama of the Pont du Gard. Descend the path to reach the monument. To return : Right bank, turn right "Pont du Gard" for 500m. Pass the ticket office and take the path on the right at the "Combe de Roussière" sign. Then join the path alongside the road, which leads back to the village of Remoulins for 2.5 km.

Housed in a handsome 17th-century mansion, it is the former former palace of Cardinal Ceccano. It houses Enguerrand Quarton's masterpiece Le Couronnement de la Vierge (The Coronation of the Virgin), dating from 1453-54, and the famous 14th-century Virgin in Ivory, and also presents a panorama of painting from the 16th to the 18th century, with works by Simon de Châlons, Nicolas Mignard, Philippe de Champaigne and Reynaud Levieux.

Cardinal Arnaud de Via, nephew of Pope John XXII, founded a chapter of twelve canons in his livery, to which he bequeathed his property in 1336. He enlarged the chapel, which became the collegiate church of Notre-Dame. In 1350, the canons had the cloister and belfry built adjacent to the church. In 1792, the collegiate church became the parish church, replacing the Saint-Pons church. This "paradise" features a sculpted decoration of flowers and foliage that is one of the finest examples of Gothic naturalism. The collegiate church of Notre-Dame and its cloister are listed as a Monument Historique.

Our guest house is an 18th-century farmhouse located in a residential area of Roquemaure, in the heart of the vineyards and cradle of the Côtes du Rhône. Right in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône vineyards, from which it originated, Roquemaure is located on the banks of the river, offering quick access to numerous hiking trails, with Mont Ventoux in the background. Our house is a former 18th-century farmhouse, separated into two separate dwellings. A private part, previously restored, and a part dedicated to guests, which my wife and I have renovated and decorated. It comprises three bedrooms on two floors and a shared kitchen. Outside, there's a 30m² terrace and a 600m² garden with an 8x4m swimming pool and Jacuzzi. It's located in a quiet residential area in the village of Roquemaure, 16km from Avignon, ideally situated between the Vaucluse and Gard regions to discover the tourist highlights of the South of France. The village has a rich history, thanks in particular to its geographical location on the banks of the Rhône and its proximity to Avignon. As a hub for wine transportation, it was here that the Côtes du Rhône appellation was created. Today, the remains of the château and the collegiate church bear witness to this prestigious past. The latter is still important today, as it houses the relics of Saint Valentine, which are the subject of an annual votive celebration attracting large numbers of devotees. Its baroque organ is listed as a historic monument. In addition to the region's many tourist and cultural attractions, the wine industry shapes the landscape. We're close to the famous vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel, as well as Lirac, Laudun and Chusclan, lesser-known but well worth a visit and tasting for wine lovers. What's more, the wineries regularly organize activities focusing on wine, local gastronomy and the Gallo-Roman history that has left us so many vestiges.
