La Sarrazine

Located in the heart of Pornic's picturesque Old Port district, La Sarrazine is a local institution that has been a fixture on the town's culinary scene since 1973. Since October 2023, Fred and Sylvia Thomas have taken over the reins of this emblematic establishment, breathing new life into this not-to-be-missed address. The choice of Pornic was no accident for Fred. He spent his childhood holidays in this charming town, and always dreamed of settling here. Homemade crêpes and galettes With many years' experience in the restaurant trade, notably in England and on the Ile d'Oléron where they ran a crêperie, Fred and Sylvia bring their know-how and passion for cooking to La Sarrazine. At La Sarrazine, everything is homemade using fresh seasonal produce. The menu offers a wide choice of sweet and savoury crêpes and galettes to suit every taste. Fans of traditional Breton cuisine will be delighted to find the great classics, while the more curious can discover some original creations. Sylvia, in the kitchen, concocts tasty and generous recipes, while Fred ensures warm and friendly service in the dining room. Classics revisited and new dishes that hit the spot La Sarrazine's customers have their favourites. Among the galettes : Océane, with leek fondue, smoked salmon, scallops, prawns and aniseed fish sauce, the Becassine, with creamed spinach, Emmental cheese and scallops the Sarrazine, named after the crêperie, offers an original combination of stuffing (ham, parsley, shallots), mushrooms, Emmental cheese, grilled bacon and salad. On the sweet side, here are the most popular crêpes: the Façon Tatin, a revisited classic, is a delight for the taste buds, the Autumn, with chestnut cream, pear, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and chantolly, is a sure bet, the Désir, with nougat ice cream, red fruit coulis and pieces of palets bretons, is a real temptation. An unmissable gourmet stop-off in Pornic Located in the heart of Pornic, just a stone's throw from the old port, the sea and the customs path, La Sarrazine is the ideal address for a gourmet break during your stay. After a stroll around the port or a hike along the coast, come and enjoy the home-made crêpes and galettes in a warm and friendly atmosphere. La Sarrazine welcomes you all year round, whether for a family lunch, a romantic dinner or a snack with friends.
