Departure and parking: Town Hall Square THE TRAIL STEP BY STEP 1. Walk along the square to the left (church side) then turn left. Take the Allée des Platanes for 150m. Follow the footpath on the right. At the roundabout, turn right and continue for 300m. 2. Join the RD813, turn left, cross the pedestrian crossing and take the direction of RD51 for 180m. Arrive at a fork and turn right for 970m. 3. Take a footbridge and turn left. Follow the Lateral Canal for 685m. Take the canal bridge and continue straight for 520m. Turn right and follow for 875m. Turn left on the dirt road for 400m. 4. At the intersection, turn left for 150m, then take the dirt road to the right for 600m. (Alternative: turn right for 400m to go to the forest). Turn left for 1.675km. 5. At the intersection with the RD813, take the pedestrian crossing and walk for 160m along the road then go towards the municipal stadium on the right. Go around the stadium on the paved road. At the “Stop” sign, turn left for 70m. After the Calvary, turn right for 220m and take the dirt road below. 6. Cross the stream by the bridge and follow the La Mouline stream for 830m. Then take the footbridge and follow the Méric stream for 600m. At the intersection with a bridge and the road, turn left and drive 770m towards the Garonne. 7. On the left, follow the banks of the Garonne for 2.3 km. 8. At the intersection, turn right on the paved road for 500m, then left. 9. Go up 1.45km. 10. Turn left towards Lac de Mailliol, then turn right and go up the path. 11. Go up 300m, then turn left. Drive 200m then follow the lake for 300m. Departure and parking: village square 1. Turn your back on the canal and head towards Montbeton. 2. Take the Montbeton road for 250m then cross the roundabout which marks the exit from the village. Take the Chemin de Vaysseillié slightly to the right. Then, follow the stream and cross the wooden footbridge. 3. Turn immediately right and take the Chemin de Tuc. Follow the path for 700m. 4. Turn left and take Chemin de Piliers for only 140m. 5. At the first crossroads, turn right onto Chemin de Mortarieu. 6. After 220m, there is a small footbridge on the right. For a shorter walk, cross the footbridge. For a longer walk, continue on the Chemin de Mortarieu. 7. After 970m, take the chemin de Noalhac and reach the Canal bridge. 7 (long). Pass the briquette bridge then join the canal by the towpath for 950m. 8. Cross the bridge and join the canal by the towpath on the right. 8 (long). Cross the canal to join the towpath on the right. 9. Go along the canal for 1.25 km. Continue towards the village crossing the canal bridge. 9 (long). Follow this path for 2.125 km to return to the starting point. 10. To continue towards the forest of Agre, continue straight towards the stadium. 10 (long). After 900m, pass under the highway bridge, turn left and follow the path. From the Aveyron valley to the hillsides, this educational trail will lead you to discover a hilly countryside, where traditional cultures and natural spaces rich in orchids mingle. THE TRAIL STEP BY STEP Departure and parking: Ardus beach 1. Exit the car park by the main street of Ardus. Turn left at the second intersection, rue de l'école. 2. At the end of the street, turn left. After 30m, turn right up the Chemin de Lamothe-Vieille. Continue the climb in the undergrowth. After 300m, emerge between orchards and continue on this path for 215m. 3. Turn right and go up Chemin de Courty. It then descends to the Côte de Vialette. Go straight up to the next intersection. At the “Give way” sign, turn right towards Biscardel. After 365m, turn right on Chemin de Jarlande. 4. After 600m of walking on a plateau, the path descends. At the bottom of the path, cross the Côte de Vialette, going straight on the Chemin de Pech-Ségur. Continue along the chemin de Séménol, to the church of Ardus. 5. 30m after the church, turn left on the Pech Blanc road. At the "Stop" sign, turn right in the direction of Montauban. After 20m, turn left into Rue du Port. Continue to Aveyron and follow the river along the chemin du moulin. At the small car park, go down the stairs on the left which brings you back to the beach and the car park. The Ingres museum showcases two illustrious Montalbanese: Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Antoine Bourdelle . This brick building, overlooking the river, is Ingres Bourdelle museum an emblematic place of Montauban. Practical information: health pass compulsory from 03.08.2021 Housed in the old episcopal palace, the Montauban museum was created in 1820. But it was in 1867, upon the death of Ingres, that the establishment took on its identity and its development: the museum then inherited all of the studio works of the famous Montalbanian painter and took the name of Ingres Museum. Enlarged, modernized, digitalized ... the museum is today spread over 2,700 m2 with new spaces, enhanced accessibility, a new museography, a sumptuous conservation cabinet housing Ingres ' drawings, an entire floor dedicated to the Bourdelle's work, magnificent rooms for temporary exhibitions, a tea room / boutique / bookshop ...
