Opulent villas line the marina, bathed in sunlight, with architects playing with geometric variations in both the overall structure and decorative details. The 20-metre-high grain silo was linked to merchant shipping on the Canal. The building ceased to operate when shipping gradually came to a halt, rivalled by the expansion of railways in south-western France. Today, it is a secondary silo for the Qualisol agricultural cooperative, based in Castelsarrasin.
