Les côteaux de Moissac à Boudou

Walk along the Tarn in the direction of the current, passing under the Pont Napoléon. Continue along the Tarn. After 200m, turn right. At the edge of the canal, turn left along the towpath of the Canal Latéral à la Garonne and the GR65, as far as the Espagnette lock and level crossing.

Turn right over the bridge onto the D113. Cross it and turn right to reach the parking area 50m further on (dangerous crossing).

Turn left to take the GR®65 in a valley straight ahead for about 1.2km along the stream.

About 2km after this climb, take the track on your left. You will climb towards the ‘crests’, passing fields of cherry trees, Chasselas vines, peach trees and almond trees.

When you reach the Route de la Roquette, turn right. At the end of the road, at the crossroads, turn right again.

Turn left and take the path down the hillside. You reach the tarmac road VC1, which you follow to the left. Then turn right onto the dirt track which climbs steeply. Join the VC2 and turn left towards Boudou and its famous viewpoint (orientation table).

From the Boudou viewpoint, turn left towards Malause for about 200m.

Turn left onto the dirt track that leads down through the undergrowth towards Petit Bézy.

On the D113, turn left for about 10 metres. Then, on the right, go towards the lock, crossing the road and the railway line. After crossing the lock, the towpath takes you back to Moissac on the GR 65 in the opposite direction. At the roundabout, turn left onto the path along the banks of the Tarn, which will take you back to the starting point.
