This circuit along the river starts in the heart of the picturesque village of Laroquebrou (Place du Foirail). As we leave the medieval village, we leave the River Cère to reach Saint-Étienne-Cantalès Dam lake. A rolling, family-friendly route, this loop allows you to discover a beautiful built heritage as well as vast areas of plains and forests. An interpretation trail will allow you to discover the little people of the marsh in the company of "Finduilas" its guardian, who tells the history of these places in a booklet. The site is made up of a group of wet meadows, marshes and peaty moors which are home to droseras (carnivorous plants), among other things. Amongst the remarkable fauna that the marsh shelters, there are various amphibians and reptiles, a great diversity of dragonflies such as the southern damselfly or the orange-spotted emerald, the Eurasian otter… Site classified as a sensitive natural area.

An imposing Sully's linden tree, a remarkable Auvergne tree planted during the reign of King Henry IV, has been at the heart of the village of Saint-Santin-Cantalès since the 16th century. Sully, the famous minister, had linden trees planted in most of the parishes of the kingdom of France so that they would be a place of community gathering for the announcement of royal edicts, the rendering of legal decisions, and exchanges about local affairs. Most often planted near the church, the Sully linden trees that still exist in France are therefore four hundred years old.

The second largest artificial lake in Auvergne is 13 km long and covers an area of 563 ha. The lake is ideal for family leisure activities: Jet skiing, beach volleyball, lazing on its beaches or simply swimming, a 124 m long Himalayan footbridge linking the beaches of Espinet and Rénac... enough to delight all members of the family!
