This river route offers a trip along the Marne to Rhine canal between Hesse or Niderviller and Nancy, the capital of the Dukes of Lorraine. You will cross Gondrexange lake, admiring the undulations of the Lorraine plateau.

This river route offers a trip along the Marne to Rhine canal between Hesse or Niderviller and Strasbourg. You will use the Saint-Louis-Arzviller boat lift or inclined plane.

This circuit starts in Saverne and follows the foothills of the massif on the Alsatian side before climbing the Valsberg Pass (650 m) from the village of Obersteigen. It then crosses over to the Moselle side of the massif, passes through the village of Dabo with its stunning view of the famous rock, and descends into the Zorn Valley. The route continues with the climb through the Rehthal before reaching the greenway of the Bièvre Valley near Sarrebourg. The return follows the EV5/V52 route via small local roads and then the superb greenway section of the Vallée des Éclusiers. The final stretch back to Saverne is an easy ride along the towpath beside the Marne–Rhine Canal.

This river route is a journey of discovery through France, Luxembourg and Germany. It will take you successively along the Marne-Rhine canal, the Moselle and the Sarre canal.

This river route takes you along the Saar Canal between Hesse and Saarbrücken. After a few kilometres on the Marne-Rhine canal, head north on the former Saar Coal Canal. You will discover the wild ponds of Gondrexange, Stock and Mittersheim. This last village is worth a stop for outdoor activities. After passing through several Alsatian villages, you will reach Sarreguemines, the city of earthenware which is well worth a visit. Once in Saarbrücken, you can't continue north without a boat licence.

You can see the remains of the St Ulrich Gallo-Roman villa nestling in its green setting, and the former convent, now the Centre International des Chemins du Baroque. The circuit continues towards the Rinting lakes before running along the Pays de Sarrebourg golf course and ending at the leisure centre.

The tour starts from the leisure centre in Sarrebourg. After a short visit of the town by the banks of the Saar and the district of Hoff, the route continues in the countryside along pleasant rural paths. In a green setting, you will see the remains of the Gallo-Roman villa of Saint-Ulrich as well as the former convent which has become the International Centre for Baroque Trails.

The Sarre's hiking trail in Sarrebourg is half urban, half forest. It offers beautiful views. It starts at the pond of the city. You walk along the river Sarre to reach the city center. Once you arrive at the end of the quai Jean XXIII, if you have time, make a detour to discover the Parcours Chagall, a complex made up of the Chapelle des Cordeliers where several of the artist's stained glass windows are located and the Musée du Pays de Sarrebourg. Otherwise, take the tunnel that passes under the railroad tracks and take the "chemin noir". It will lead you to Hoff, a district of the city that was once a village. Go to its baroque church, Saint Martin, and continue the walk to a viewpoint that will allow you to discover a panorama of the Vosges Mountains. The rest of the route is on the edge of the forest in the direction of Imling. The circular route is 13.3 km long and takes about 4 hours to complete. The course is easy.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

This authentic Pottery Works was built in 1735 by Mathias Lesprit, "Maître Faïencier de Badonviller" (Earthenware Craftman of Badonviller). In 1748, the domain was sold to Jean-Louis Beverlé (Monnaie de Strasbourg’s manager) and the business became successful. The building burnt and was built again in 1754: the best workers and craftsmen were hired then. François-Antoine Anstett, a painter and chemist, was one of them: he became the manufacture’s manager later on. This period is known as the “Golden Hour” of the manufacture. They have tried to make and sell porcelain as well but they stopped as the competition with Limoges Porcelain was too hard. As a result, they turned to earthenware making only for good in the 19th Century. The earth in Niderviller is unique and allowed artists and craftsmen to make outstanding and authentic masterpieces. There are more than 1000 molds of vases and statues from the 18th Century in the pottery works. Statues made by Cyffé, Lemire and other well-known artists were very popular in Europe during the 18th Century. They were all inspired by mythology or romance scenes. The most famous remains “The Kidnapping of Hélène” that you may see at Sarrebourg Museum as well as other Niderviller earthenware masterpieces. Outdoors open visit only.

The former abbey church has been listed as a historic monument since 1866. In 1861, the report requesting its listing provided information on the architectural interest of this religious building, indicating that it is the only one in the area dating back to the 11th century. This unique and complex architectural ensemble hosts the tombstones of Pope Leon IX's family. Romanesque in style, it is an admirable example of medieval architecture in Lorraine.

The roman abbey in Hesse has been listed as a french Monument Histotique since 1866. It houses the tombstones of Pope Leo IX's family.

In the Forest of Hesse, between the towns of Brouderdorff and Hartzviller, there is a niche with a statue of Virgin Mary. This statue was erected 50 years ago by Victor Pfeiffer, who had the idea to create a chapel at the Eckwald. In 1965, it was transformed by the people living in Brouderdorff. Despite the fell of many trees near the niche during the storm of December 1999, the statue of Virgin Mary remained miraculously unbroken.

Marxberg National Necropolis is located on Buhl Road (route de Buhl). 1608 people are buried there: French soldiers who fell during the Sarrebourg Battle (August 1914) and those who passed away in hospitals (French and German people). You may also see the graves of soldiers who perished in Hesse, Imling, Hoff, Réding, Saint Pierre Biberkirch as well as soldiers who perished during Rhineland occupation. Soldiers who died during the June 1940 military campaign also lay here.
