Sarre valley circuit

A place of relaxation, the leisure area offers the charms of the countryside in the city centre. Lots of activities are offered: supervised swimming (every day in summer), playground, jogging path, petanque ground, beach volleyball, indoor and outdoor tennis, indoor skatepark, aquatic center, pond and river fishing, starting point for hiking trails... The bishop of Metz had this chapel built in 1173, as well as a hospital and lodgings at the western gate of Sarrebourg for travellers when the city gates were closed. Following various development works, the chapel was moved: in 1851 when the Rue de Lunéville was widened and the railway line was laid out, and in 1921 when the metal bridge was built. It was rebuilt on the present site in the rue de Verdun. It was refurbished in 1976. Four beautiful stained glass windows depict the childhood of Christ.
