REMEM'BERNIERES Discover the history of the Allied landings at Bernières-sur-Mer on two signposted and geolocated trails, with the help of the Remem'Bernières web application. A dozen period photos on outdoor supports mark out the geolocated tour: "They landed". A signposting system around the town allows you to follow the soldiers' route through Bernières step by step. The photos are accompanied by a QR code, which you can scan with your smartphone or tablet to access the digital content: archive images, historical anecdotes, testimonies from civilians, etc. Tour no. 1 "They landed": this tour retraces the history of the landings at Bernières-sur-mer through the remains of this period and the historic buildings destroyed by the Germans at 15 points of interest.

Hiking loop starting from Bernières-sur-Mer. This loop runs from the seafront to the plain, highlighting the memorial heritage of the Second World War (traces and vestiges of the German occupation, emblematic Bernières houses, commemorative plaques and monuments celebrating the liberation). Practical information: You can come by bus from Caen or Courseulles-sur-Mer on line 101 and get off at the "Plage" stop for this hike. Picnic area by the sea at the end of the route. A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. This year I've decided to add a special touch by choosing scrapbooking. It offers an exclusive touch. ‘Staging an idea’ and linking introspection with thought. The ignored mysteriously unravels towards the discovery of the visible. Sculpture, collage, painting, drawing, assembly, digital manipulation - all these materials, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some, can be used to shape a desire, an art project. The workshops help to develop each person's artistic identity. The idea is that no limits should imprison the mind. The aim is to awaken the senses and awareness, because it's not always about achieving beauty, but about being able to explain your intention. So, as you can see, I'd like to focus my workshops on scrapbooking. The principle of scrapbooking is to stage one or more ideas. It reveals a place for creativity, awakens inventiveness and also reveals an artistic style. Creating and using your creative skills can bring you feelings of satisfaction, well-being, a sense of achievement and, most importantly, it's very accessible. There's something for all ages and tastes. And for those who want to devote themselves to this art form, the year-round workshops will feature paper-mâché sculptures, and a glimpse into the world of the visual artist.

The present church dates back to 1786. The previous church was located in the graveyard near the castle. The central alley in the graveyard corresponds to the outline of the first church. There are also old tombstones of former priests. As it had fallen into disrepair, it was destroyed by a fire and storm.

Here you will find an exhibition of traditional Norman objects, multi-coloured lace (from the manufacture of Courseulles lace), boat models of the Labrèque brothers and tools from the old shipyard.

In 1785, the old church in Courseulles then located near the cemetery was at risk of collapsing. The central path of the cemetery corresponds to the outlines of the early church. It is also possible to see old tombstones of priests. Too dilapidated, it was destroyed by a storm and fire. It was then decided to build a new church in Clos Lucas at the heart of the village. In 1786, the new church was in the hands of carpenters and roofers. In this church you will find a large canvas given by Emperor Napoléon III in 1869 "Saint-Sixte and Saint-Laurent".
