From the gîte, escape to Mont Saint Michel, just an hour and 15 minutes away by car. Professional stay: 5 people maximum (5 beds and 3 bedrooms) - Cleaning compulsory 1 per stay from 1 to 14 nights. The Musée de la RN13 is a museum created by a genuine enthusiast. It comprises an exhibition area with over 70 vehicles (cars, motorcycles, motorised cycles, bicycles), 10,000 miniatures and 150 enamelled advertising panels dating from 1920 to the 1980s. Commandant Philippe Kieffer will be remembered for his key role in the Normandy Landings. At the head of a 177-strong commando unit, the only French soldiers to take part in the D-Day landings (1st Battalion of Fusiliers Marins Commandos, later to become the famous Bérets Verts), he landed on Sword Beach, at Colleville-Montgomery. Despite significant losses, he reached his objective, albeit wounded, and was instrumental in the liberation of Ouistreham. After the war, the Lieutenant-Commander settled in Grandcamp-Maisy. He became a general councillor and then a member of parliament in 1946. He lies facing the sea in the Grandcamp-Maisy cemetery.
