Retrace your steps and turn left at the foot of the staircase. Leave behind the track taken at the beginning and continue straight the path at the foot of the dam. On the bridle path, continue on the right along a large field and reach the Carpentras canal. Continue to the right until the end of the dirt road. 4 - Just before the road, turn right, go through the woods and follow the path along the old canal. Come back to the small bridge (point 3). 3 - Take a sharp left and go back to the forest of La Garrigue (point 2) by the route taken at the beginning. 2 - At the top of the steep hill, continue straight. Then take a right to return to the starting point calmly.

Weaving through the ruins of the old village and reaching the Vaudoismemorial at the top. Go back up to point 1 and go up the coated road (GR®) to the left. Continue on the stone path. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroad and after 150m turn left on the trail (GR®). Take a path and follow it to the right. Turn left at the next crossroad and then get off. 2- At the "Sadaillan" crossroad, follow the trail on the left, go past the next crossroad and 50m down, turn right on a path. Pass two pins and reach a trail (GR®). Follow it to the left. Continue left and right, then turn left onto the trail. Join the arboretum of the Font de l'Orme. At the exit of the wood, join the trail at the corner of the parking lot. 3- Follow the trail of Saint-Phalez to the right and 150m further on, turn right. 270m higher, follow the trail on the left (GR®). Switch and turn left. Start on a new trail. Turn right, go past a cistern and continue 250m after the pin. 4- Switch left onto the trail. Continue right at the bottom of the valley and reach the top of the gorges of Regalon (pole). Turn right and go up. At the trail, go left. At the top of the valley of La Galère, leave on the right the GR®, pass the pin and reach a cistern then the wide crossroad of "Montagnas" (PR). 5 - Turn left and continue straight ahead. Climb the path that crosses a bump directly, find the trail and reach the old farm of the Mayorques (PR). Continue south (sheep pen), cross the crack. Cross the Ser trail through the rocky path. 6 - At the bottom, take the trail on the left. Continue left and reach the Régalon parking lot (PR). In front of the large oak, turn left and climb to the right the road to La Tulière. Pass the farm and continue along the trail. Find the ruins of the Cachots. Then turn to Petit and then Grand Champeau to the left (PR). 7- Turn left on the road to the Fond de l'Orme. Go along a large wall and then to the right climb a path under the pines (PR). Continue straight on the chemin du Bon Puits. Swing right on the way to the Muse and find the center of Mérindol.

After a slight false flat, pass the cedar lyre, cross a farm road and continue on the opposite side. Reach a clearing and the interpretation area of the forest and life. Continue the path, pass the Cedar candelabra and reach the crossroads'Bois roustan''. 2 - Turn left and on 220m, take the left edge of the forest track, then when at the communal forest limit sign, turn right onto the path that sinks into the undergrowth. After the area of interpretation on pastoralism, keep on the main road or, slightly more playful, turn left into the labyrinth and maze of decking to return to the route a little further. easily reach the starting point of the''Chemin des Cèdres'' trail and turn right to return to the car park.

A magical immersion in the cedar forest, wandering the heart ofthe scrubland and panoramic contemplation on the south of the Luberon ... Go to the far end of the car park, cross the barrier by the dedicated pedestrian crossing and reach the welcome sign. Continue a few metres to reach to the starting area of the Portalas trail. 1 - Go to the left on the Portalas trail, yellow arrow. Continue about thirty metres on the itinerary accessible to people with disabilities and take a right at the labyrinth and its maze of decking. Come a little further back on the main route and regain the area of interpretation on pastoralism. Exit the "Chemin des Cèdres" trail to take the path on the left. 20m further, turn right and go down slowly to the shaded valley. After the well-marked left hand turn, continue descending for 600m. Upon arriving at a coal production site (point 623), leave the valley and take a right on a winding path. 2 - At the crossroads "Le Portalas", turn right. Continue on the path between boxwoods and oaks. Just after a rocky ledge, turn left and climb a steep path to reach the edge of the plateau and its panoramic view. 3 - Continue straight on the plateau and 70m further, turn right. Follow the path that goes into the woods. Continue straight until the paved forest path. 4 - At the crossroads "Bois Roustan” turn right and follow the forest track to return to the car park. Alternative route for the return: from the crossroads "Bois Roustan" (point 4), return to the car park following in the opposite direction the "Chemin des Cèdres" trail that winds through the woods behind the interpretation area "Forest exploited by man".

From the Provençal village to the scrubland, here is a beautiful jaunt in Saint-Cannat countryside, center of good life and enchanting landscapes. Coming from the former N7 road it’s hard to see Saint-Cannat as an abundant farmland responding to all the Provençal rural clichés. But go through the paths between vineyards and olive groves, Bories, water tanks, pine and oak trees, beehives, rosemary fields, old country houses and isolated farms, beautiful fountains, cypress hedges… and you realize! Five hours of pilgrimage (less with the shortcut) to make up with the idea of the original Provence, everything is never more than 2 to 3 km away from the village.

A little haven of peace, where nature lovers will be able to enjoy singing live birds in this preserved environment ! From the car park, take the path between two metal poles. After the grove of pines, continue straight through the crossroads of tracks. 1- Follow the path on the right and join the intersection between the D71 (Alleins road) and the Chemin des Marmets. Take a left on this paved road and continue for 1 km to the houses. 2- Take the path on the left that passes between different buildings.. Once in the massif, stay on this track, leaving on the side all alternative paths. To arrive at the water tower, with its point of view on the Opies and the lowland of Roquemartine. 3- Turn around. 300 m further, stay to the right, then just after follow the path on the left. Continue for 700 m then at the crossroads after the house turn right and join the departure car park.

Come crisscross Senas' little trails, at the mercy of the Provençal hedges and the cultures they hide ! From the Tourist Office, take the avenue Jean Jaurès on the left to the town hall. Turn right on Avenue Désiré Pey and then on the left the passage Massart. 1- (Caution) continue on the avenue Louis Pascal. At the roundabout head straight under the motorway bridge, then turn immediately left on the path of Perrier Redon. Continue for 500 m. 2- Turn left on the path of the cabaret des Boeufs, direction la Peyronnette. Cross the stop and continue until the level crossing. 3- Take the Patis path on the right and immediately on your left the path of the Bressières Est area. Go up to the highway and turn right just after. 4- Go right at the next crossing. Continue on the path of Durancette and Dumaine. Take a right at the next intersection. 5- Turn left at the intersection and then right on the Bonfillons Sud road. Continue 200 m, before turning left onto the dirt road of the Crillons channel. 6- Turn left at the bridle with a house in the center and continue for 600m. After a large isolated pine tree, take the path on your left and continue to the road. 7- Take a right on the road to Mallemort, continue for 1 km. Turn right on chemin de l'Etang then continue on Chemin des Ribes and Brayettes. At the STOP turn left and return to the starting point.

Taking its source at Mount Genèvre in the Hautes-Alpes, the Durance continues its course in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence to then establish the border between Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse. The various hydroelectric constructions (like the huge dam of Serre-Ponçon) have significantly reduced its flow and its natural environment. The challenge today is to reconcile the production of electricity from renewable energy and the protection of the ecosystems of the stream.

During the tour, you will often find pebbles under your feet. A pebble is a piece of rock torn from erosion and rounded from travelling rivers. There are of all colours and some come from far away, the Alps. We are 20 to 25m above the Durance and yet it has left these pebbles during the last ice age between 60 000 and 15 000 years ago.

This little bright green frog is very discreet in the daytime when it clings to branches or reed leaves. It lives near bodies of water. When the rainy season approaches or during the chanting of the males from May to July, you can hear it chant from almost a kilometre away.!

The Union Canal (or mixed channel) draws its water from the Durance EDF (French energy company) channel at the Mallemort dam. This canal supplies the Cabedan-neuf Canal, the Saint-Julien Canal, the Canal de l'Isle and the Carpentras Canal. It is therefore almost 20 000ha which are irrigated from the Union Canal, spread over 56 communes of the Vaucluse.

Ranked as a historical monument in 1992, the building located right next to the town hall originates from a small wooden chapel built in 1667. Voluntarily destroyed by an inhabitant of Mérindol, he was tried and forced to replace a brick building which we do not know the date of construction. Became too small with the forced conversion of Protestants in 1685, it was demolished to make way for the present church between 1748 and 1754.

Created in 1170 by a wealthy citizen of Lyon Valdes (or Vaudes), the Waldensianism is a movement that advocates a simple lifestyle, close to that of the first disciples of Jesus of Nazareth. Having separated from the ostentatious luxury of the Catholic Church, these Vaudois, expelled from Lyon in 1184, settled in the south of France, Provence, Languedoc, Dauphine, and Italy.

A draille is a passage, a trail or path followed from time immemorial by transhumant sheep. Here Mérindol Draille once used for cattle to reach Craux upstream of the village. As for the name Mérindol, it comes from « mar » and « rondolo » or « sea swallow » in Provençal.

In 1504, 11 Waldensian families settled in Mérindol with the agreement of the Bishop of Marseilles. In 1532, the Vaudois, dissenting Catholics will embrace the Reformed Church at the Synod of Chanforan (Piedmont). After years of persecution, Mérindol edict of the Parliament of Aix in 1540 led to the destruction of the village of Mérindol in 1545. The Vaudois memorial, located upstream on the ruins of the original village also offers a panoramic view.

In spring 1545, in the Luberon, over 3000 people were massacred and 24 devastated villages, including that of Merindol, burned and passed to the sword. This is between the old walls parts of the old castrum, the Vaudois memorial was inaugurated in 1978 through the initiative of three Vaud associations of Germany, Italy and France. He recalls this: "To the Protestants of Provence, many died from being Vaudois, a branch of the church created in 1170 by Valdes and attached to the Reformed Church in 1532".
