Departing from Strasbourg, the route follows EuroVelo 15 - the Rhine cycle route - and makes an incursion into the Robertsau/Wantzenau Rhine forest, classified as a national nature reserve. The splendid Parc du Pourtalès and its castle, located in the immediate vicinity, are well worth a stop. The tour continues along the high-water dyke that runs parallel to the Rhine. From La Wantzenau onwards, the cyclist passes through a succession of villages on the Rhine: Gambsheim, with its locks and fish pass; Offendorf, with its listed Rhine forest and boating heritage; Drusenheim, with its Altwasser gardens and Rhine ferry. The route then follows the Moder Valley Véloroute to Haguenau, city of Barbarossa, dynamic and pleasant gateway to Northern Alsace, with its exceptional forest. A quiet road leads to Brumath, the former regional capital in Roman times. Its leisure center, with its lake, is an ideal place to take a refreshing break. Finally, return to Strasbourg on the EuroVelo5 - Via Romea cycle route along the Marne-Rhine canal and its towpath.

Departing from Haguenau, City of Barbarossa, you'll escape to the vast forest adjacent to the town. With its stands of pines and oaks, the forest has been awarded the “Forêt d'Exception®” label since 2020, and is the green lung of the capital of Northern Alsace. You'll then come to Walbourg, home to the Romanesque abbey church of St-Walburge and the Musée Mémorial, which presents the history of the region between 1870 and 1945. You'll then continue your tour along the northern edge of the Haguenau forest to Betschdorf, a town of potters who perpetuate ancestral traditions. Don't hesitate to visit one of the many workshops. Visits to the Maginot Line works in Hatten and Leutenheim will give you an insight into the defensive system deployed by the French army in wartime. You'll then head off to the Rhine region along the EuroVelo15 Rhine cycle route to Drusenheim, with its Paso Museum and Altwasser gardens. Along the way, stop off at Sessenheim, where Goethe had a romantic idyll. You'll then pass through Soufflenheim, the second most famous pottery center on the route. You'll then return to the peaceful, exceptional Haguenau forest, passing by the unmissable Gros Chêne site before returning to the tour's starting point.

The 94-kilometre cycle route between Alsace and Baden offers you the opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages of the region by bike. Bordered by the Vosges mountains in the west and the Black Forest in the east, the route winds its way through the beautiful landscape of the Rhine valley and the Rhine Park PAMINA. Numerous natural, cultural and culinary attractions invite you to stroll and relax. The entire cycle route is signposted in both directions and is largely paved. Start at the Orchard of the Arboriculturists, rue du Rhin in Herrlisheim and join the path that runs alongside the railway line which you follow for 800 metres towards Drusenheim. You will cross the Rothlach, an old river bed whose meanders can still be seen. You pass a remarkable maple tree. Then the path leaves the railway line and heads due east, facing the Black Forest. A little more than two kilometres after the start, you will find the Feldweg, the path from Herrlisheim. Head towards Herrlisheim for about 50 metres, then turn left onto the Altstrasse, the old road. Already in Roman times, a road connected Offendorf to Drusenheim. On your left, you will pass the Neukirchfeld, a former village. Follow the Altstrasse for a little over a kilometre, then turn right at the small bunker to return to Herrlisheim. On the way back, you can admire the beautiful orchards that surround the eastern part of the village and are home to, among other things, the very rare little owl. You can also see the pear tree, classified as a remarkable tree by the department. The municipality wishes to promote the historical heritage of Kilstett and the Alsatian dialect by promoting the "Hoftname". The names of the Kilstet houses, most often from their former owners, are still very often used, but their history is often unknown. In order to make them known to all and to avoid their disappearance, the municipality has started an educational program explaining the names of some "Hoftname" and their origins. Start from the car park in front of the communal shed and follow the path on the edge of the "les pêcheurs" housing estate. Walk along the pond and cross the old high-water dike and then follow the new dike of the Offendorf dock. In the distance, you will see the marina with four water sports centres which can accommodate up to 600 boats in the summer. Turn left, follow the road in the direction of Offendorf, cross the bridge and reach the dyke to enjoy a vast panorama of the boatmen's town. Dating from 1838-1839, this building was built on the site of a church dedicated to Saint Como and Saint Damian.

The "Rimlen" Chapel is the only remaining piece of the former village of Rimlenheim. The hamlet was destroyed by the Armagnacs. An office is being held annually, on the 29th September (St. Michael's day), to commemorate the departed. If you want to discover this chapel, exit the village and take the road towards Ernolsheim sur Bruche. The building is in the middle of the vineyard.

This channel has a length of 20 km (12.4 mi), a 29 m (95 ft) slope and eleven locks measuring 48,5 x 4,5 m (159' x 14.7') each. On the 13th August 1682, the Bruche channel, also called channel Vauban was officially opened. It was designed to ship stones and other materials from the quarries of Soultz-les-Bains and Wolxheim for the fortification of Strasbourg and the construction of its citadel. On the 30th September 1681 the German free town Strasbourg capitulated in front of the French army. For a better defence of Strasbourg, King of France Ludwig XIV decided to build a fortress. The plans were drawn by the king's architect, Vauban. At that time there was a intense traffic on the channel composed of men, donkeys or horses, which from the right bank towpath of the pulled the full loaded ships. Beginning of the last century the channel was used less often. The former towpath now serves as a cycle lane you can use to reach Strasbourg.

About twenty kilometres from Strasbourg, lies the thirty hectares of the hillside Kefferberg beling once to the vineyard of Strasbourg, one of the oldest vineyards in Alsace. From the 4th century, vines would have been planted on these hills close to Argentoratum (the Roman name of Strasbourg) and patrician villas between Kirchheim and Marlenheim. The soil of Kefferberg is composed of clay interspersed with limestone-sandstone layers. Its gentle slopes, its south-facing orientation and its micro-climate may it benefit from an extraordinary drought resistance reinforced by silica on the surface which warms also the soil by their «magnifying» effect. This warmth gives dry wines a relatively subtle acidity, a rich material and aromas that make them great gastronomic wines. While below the hillside flows the river Bruche which promotes the development of botrytis (grey rot) on the grapes and transform the wines into fabulous sweet like the late harvests and the selections of noble grains. All the Alsatian grape varieties grow on the vineyards of Ergersheim. It offers magnificent views: the Vosges, the cathedral of Strasbourg, the chapel Saint-Michel d'Ergersheim (the last vestige of a village destroyed during the Thirty Years' War).

The ruins of Grand Arnsbourg, a castle dating back to the middle of the 12th century, are between Philippsbourg and Niederbronn. The castle was built to survey the Zinsel valley leading to Bitche. Louis d'Arnsbourg was the first occupant in 1229; from 1332, it was in the hands of the Lords of Lichtenberg until the last descendant died in 1481. The Count of Deux-Pont-Bitche became proprietor until the castle was partially destroyed during the Peasant War. For security reason access is strictly forbidden. Located between Ergersheim and Furdenheim, on the site of the former village of Altbronn. Altbronn, or Altbrunne (literally the "Old Fountain"), used to be a flourishing hamlet in the early Middle-Ages. The village disappeared during the first half of the 14th century, due to civil wars and the plague. The only thing left was the church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, built by Bishop Guillaume de Diest during his pilgrimage in 1397 (inscription embedded in a stone slab, on the South side of the chapel). In the 15th and 16th centuries, the sanctuary respectively entered a period of prosperity and decline.Then, Bishop Jean de Manderscheidt entrusted the place of pilgrimage to the Jesuits who administered a school in Molsheim at the time. Altbronn was abandoned in 1765, when the State closed down the Jesuit school. In 1883, the chapel was bought by the parish council of Ergersheim. Since then, the influx of pilgrims never ceased to increase. When the Cistercians from Oelenberg, better known as the Trappistines, settled into Ergersheim in 1895, they borrowed the chapel's name for their monastery built in the town center. A few steps from the site of pilgrimage is St. Anne's spring, where miracles have been recorded by the Jesuits since the 16th century. It was supposed to help mothers avoid health complications during pregnancy.

Memorial to Jean Bugatti. He was the son of automobile manufacturer Ettore Bugatti, who opened his factory in Molsheim-Dorlisheim in December 1909, the year of Jean's birth. Jean started working very early with his father, as he possessed the same artistic skills concerning designing elegant vehicles. On August 11, 1939, Jean Bugatti tragically died in a car crash while testing a 57 C. He was 30 years old. His father never recovered from the loss of his son.

Château neuf, also known as Château Hervé, is a former Ecole Royale de la fabrication du ver à soir (Royal School for Evening Wormmaking) dating from the 18th century, and an annex of a vast nursery dating from 1742. The building has two levels with a facade and two wings (1750). Private estate

This building is characterized by its very long nave from the 18th century and a gothic choir with an imposing baroque high altar. The facade has two bays flanking the bell tower topped by a baroque bulb with a wrought iron cross (1878).
