At the gates of Brive, but already in the countryside, this shady route takes you through the Planchetorte valley, an important listed and preserved site. Numerous caves occupy the sandstone walls. Difficult to see in summer, they were habitats and shelters for the men of the Paleolithic. The Planchetorte valley is also incredibly rich in flora because of the diversity of environments that can be observed there.

The Voie Verte links Aubazine station to St-Pantaléon de Larche along the river, in the Corrèze valley. It crosses Brive-la-Gaillarde and thus ensures the link between these 2 parts of the route.

Discover the Ardoise region through this 61 km long sportive route! Your tour starts in Donzenac, a pretty town of character. Once an important fortified town, Donzenac has lost none of its charm thanks to its medieval architecture. At the highest point of the oldest part of the town is the astonishing castle of the barons of Donzenac, which is surely the oldest remaining residence in the town. After a few kilometres in the legs, you arrive at the gates of Allassac! Amongst its rich heritage, the 14th century fortified church and the Tour César are worth discovering. To complete the loop, allow yourself a well-deserved break to discover the Pans de Travassac. The interest of the site is explained by its impressive coloured cliffs, which do not fail to surprise, just like its decor which harmonises mineral and plant environments.

This tour invites you to discover a mosaic of gently sloping hills and picturesque villages. Here, the art of living is cultivated, from the earthly to the spiritual. This generous land bears witness to the marvellous skills of medieval builders in such exceptional sites as Aubazine and Saint-Robert. There are also countless natural treasures to discover: the Causse corrézien, the Gouffre de la Fage... Stay in the depths and discover the pans de Travassac near Donzenac, a pleasant medieval town with circular streets. Further west, the Vézère winds its way through hills and flowering orchards to form a verdant valley. It's all there to amaze you... but the star of this land remains the apple, of which there are 250 varieties in Corrèze, found in the orchards between Objat and Juillac.

This route allows you to admire the views over Donzenac and its plain from the village of Mazières. It then sinks into the shaded valley of the two Maumonts, which it crosses at the mill of Theil, to emerge on the top of the slopes by the charming village of Cévennes. It then dips back into the Maumonts valley one last time before reaching the famous Travassac slate quarry site Finally, a short detour to the medieval village of Donzenac allows you to take a refreshing break in the town square before finishing this hike.

This forest trail offers beautiful views of the Corrèze valley to the north and the Roanne to the east. Its interpretation trail emphasizes the transition of the landscape from the 19th century to the present day. The Lacoste itinerary, with a more marked difference in altitude, allows you to discover the beautiful village that gave it its name before reaching the town of Dampniat. The Saint-Pardoux church, a listed building and an architectural treasure trove of local history, is well worth a visit.

This Louis XIII-era building was once the convent of the Poor Clares, then the Benedictine nuns of Bonnesaigne, a women's prison, a middle-class residence, a minor seminary, a Congregational school, then a secular school, and is now the headquarters of the Société archéologique de la Corrèze. The mansion comprises two angled buildings joined by a tower with a spiral staircase. The left wing features three semicircular arches on the first floor, remnants of the Abbess' cloister, while the dormer windows on both roofs are topped by semi-circular pediments adorned with balls. From 1882 to 1985, it housed the Ernest Rupin Museum

Maison Treilhard is one of Brive's typical town-center houses. It features a handsome polygonal tower flanked by a pepperbox turret, and an entrance decorated with moldings and sculpted pediments. It was the birthplace of J.B. Treilhard, who, after serving as a member of the Convention and the Directoire, was one of the drafters of the French Civil Code.

This collegiate church is dedicated to St. Martin (known as the Spaniard), one of the city's three patron saints. It was built in the 12th century, in the shape of a Latin cross, on top of remains from the 5th century. The transept, the octagonal dome on pendentives, part of the chevet and an exceptional group of historiated capitals in the choir all date from this medieval period. The bell tower is in the neo-Romanesque Limousin style, reaching a height of 60 meters. The crypt contains the remains of the previous 5th-century basilica, unearthed in 1986 and 1987. Located in the northern part of Brive?s hypercentre, the Saint-Libéral chapel was built close to a busy thoroughfare. Erected or rebuilt in the early 15th century, it was used during the Wars of Religion as a chapel for the Dominicans, whose convent outside the walls had been burnt down. Possibly erected over the tomb of Saint Liberal, it was surrounded by a cemetery until 1774, when it was sold and subdivided. Seized during the Revolution and sold as national property in 1791, the chapel became the property of the Lalande family, who set up a tallow foundry and candle factory. In 1876, the same family donated the chapel to the diocese. Ceded to the City of Brive in 1976 and listed in 1978 on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques, Saint-Libéral has been a venue for exhibitions and events since the 1980s

Erected or rebuilt in the hyper-centre of Brive at the beginning of the 15th century (perhaps around the tomb of the Saint to whom it owes its name), the Chapelle Saint-Libéral had an eventful history before being sold to the City of Brive in 1976. Listed in 1978 in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments, this Gothic style chapel has been a space for exhibitions and cultural events since the 1980s and offers a rich and varied programme throughout the year. Since September 2011, it has been attached to the Labenche Museum. Access free of charge.

Housed in an exceptional Renaissance mansion (classified M.H.) and spread over 17 rooms, the Labenche Museum's collections bear witness to the rich history, archaeology and heritage of the city of Brive and its region. This establishment, holder of the appellation "Musée de France", exhibits a remarkable collection of tapestries from the manufactures of Mortlake and Aubusson as well as the piano that belonged to the famous composer Claude Debussy. It also has a rich collection of prehistory.
