Outdoor Adventures at JUNO ALAIN Villeneuve-loubet

When reaching Gourdon, a hilltop village labeled the most beautiful village in France, the hairpin bends more and more aery, increase between terraced crops. The way to heaven! From the car park, go along the cemetery and continue on the Chemin de Bessurane (GR®51) until the Saint-Claude chapel. 1- Take a sharp left on a paved road and then engage immediately left on the trail that rises abruptly. Go along the fences and through a woodland until an intersection. 2- At the sign-post 302, take the right path that leads to the Canal du Loup. Walk on the mountainside on a large platform and cross the small bridge of the Gourdon valley. Remain on the flat area and come out on the Chemin du Paradis. 3- Follow it to the left (GR®51). Reach the Foulon aqueduct, then climb many aery switchbacks and reach Gourdon. 4- Visit the picturesque streets of the village, then go back down until the canal du Loup by the same route. In point 3, turn left and continue down the Chemin du Paradis. Come out on the road of the old railway. 5- Make a sharp right and return to Bar-sur-Loup. 1km further, take the Chemin des Fontaites to the right. And return to the car park of the cemetery.

This hike is an opportunity to come back to the rich agricultural past of Plan des Noves, former "granary" of the Vençois country. Panoramic peaks and canyon are waiting for you! From the Plan des Noves car park, go down slightly on the GR®51 until you reach the marker 65. 1- Take the path on the left to follow the circuit of Plan des Noves, until the marker 65a. 2- Turn right on the path (PR), 400 m further to the intersection turn left again on the path (PR) to gradually reach the ascent to the ridge. Go past the remarkable ruined sheepfold and continue 500 m to the crossroads. 3- Go down on the right on the path of "Mangia Pan" to find a track to reach the intersection. 4- Take the path on the right to return to point 1. Take the path used to go back to the Plan des Noves car park.

Tanneron, Land of Mimosa! A pleasant one-and-a-half-hour walk around the village to discover the village and its panoramic views, surrounded by mimosa trees from January to March. This is the easternmost commune of the Pays de Fayence in the Var department and the one featuring the most mimosa flowers, with its abundant "yellow forests". This is the largest area in France planted with both cultivated and wild mimosa. Around 1880, the mimosa, originally from Australia, made its appearance on the Côte d'Azur. In 1964, running water arrived in the village of Tanneron. Clinging to hillsides planted with mimosa, strawberries, flowers, heather, olive trees, pines, chestnut trees and cork oaks, the commune of Tanneron is made up of 22 hamlets. The cultivation of mimosa throughout the Tanneron area is now one of the finest treasures of this charming commune. These fluffy, bright yellow, fragrant little balls are beautiful to see in their natural environment. Tanneron is located at km 112 of the Route du Mimosa. > STARTING POINT Free parking in the village of Tanneron - Hikers' car park or at the church. Departure: Tourist Office GPS coordinates: 43.590748, 6.875309 > ITINERARY A - Place de la Maire Panoramic view over the Alpes-Maritimes from Grasse to the Bay of Cannes. The square is home to a typical Provencal café dating from 1865. A little anecdote: Georges Clémenceau, MP for Var, is said to have stayed there in 1889! Opposite it, a water tank dating back to 1888 supplied the townspeople before water was pumped from the River Siagne in 1964. Behind the town hall, you can admire a pretty square and its fountain, renovated in 1997. Cross the square in the direction of the war memorial, built in 1921, continue along the Chemin de la Grille and turn left into the Carreiros district. B - Carreiros district / A little history View over the Bay of Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea. Continue along a dirt track where you turn right around the Colle d'Embarque district to access the walk through the mimosa plantations. At the end of the path, rejoin the tarmac track and take the dirt track on the left, Touordam (towards the municipal stadium) as far as the junction with the DFCI track: Touordam. On the road leading to the stadium, turn right and continue along the dirt track. Follow the signposts on the track around the village towards Notre-Dame de Peygros. C - The church of Notre-Dame de Peygros The church is located at the top of the hill where the view takes in Lake Saint-Cassien, Mont-Lachens (1,714 metres), Grasse and the village of Tanneron. The small Peygros chapel, now a church, was enlarged by its inhabitants between 1839 and 1844. Everyone contributed to the renovation by making their own contribution. The chevet has a semicircular apse and the faade is flanked by the square bell tower with its two bells, financed by local residents. From the church, head towards the Hubert Rouaud school, built in 1972. At the junction with the D38, turn right towards the village. 20 km of bird’s flight separate the summit (1,778 m) from the Mediterranean. This exceptional situation offers a sumptuous panorama! From the Faisse car park, take the D2 road to reach the marker 30 marking the start of the trail. 1- Take the GR®4 to an intersection marked by the marker 193. 2- Turn left, cross the bars of Cheiron and reach the beacon 194.3- Engage full east in this open landscape and follow the crests of Cheiron. When the ski lifts appear, the peak of Cheiron will not be very far. 4- The return is made by the same itinerary.

A path open to all, in a typical landscape of the high Grasse area. This route crosses vast wooded limestone plateaus. From Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, go up the road of Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey for 1.5 km to the bus shelter " des redonnets ". 1- Take a right on the small paved road for 100 m and turn left to reach another small road. Continue on a wide stony path marked 27. 2- Go down slightly to the left on another track and continue on the marked stony path (PR) to go back on a grassland area. 3- fork to the right and get to the beacon 28. Then deviate slightly on the right via the beacon 29. Go back down a pebble road and join the small village of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne through small paved roads.

This massive mountain plays the role of sentry of the high valleys and offers the visitor a look of exceptional magnitude. The trail starts shortly after the center of the village from Nice. 1- 1- Take a right turn on an asphalt track. Continue on a path passing behind some houses via the beacon 32. The trail rises quietly before winding up a bit. Continue climbing to an intersection 4 km from this point. 2- Turn off to the left as indicated at the beacon 8, then climb to the summit crest of Mont-Vial, which is easily reached via the beacon 285. 3- The return is made by the same itinerary.

A mountain bike ride to share with family in a wild nature on the Briasq trail that will take you to a lookout post with an exceptional view. Back to the car park, turn right on a small paved road, cross the village of Escragnolles before joining the Colette car park 750 m further. 1- Take the Briasq Forest Trail in a southerly direction to Beacon 85 (PR). 2- Turn right on a stony track. Continue for 250 m. 3- Leave it to take a left at a barrier D.F.C.I. and continue for 1.5 km to the forked intersection Turn left and go to the point of view of Baou Mourine where is watchtower established. 4- Make the return by the same route.

Southern Bastion of the Pre-Alps, the Montagne de l'Audibergue presents itself as an interminable east-west rampart. From the Parc de la Moulière climb up to the end of the chairlift by the green slope of the Marcassin. 1- Bypass a slope on the right and join the orientation table on the nearby ridge. 2- Cross the ridge on the trail (PR marking), to the top of the Audibergue (1,642m) 3- Go north, under the ski lifts to find the beacon 173. 4- Take the trail (PR marking) towards Parc de la Moulière and easily reach the parking lot via the 174 beacon.

Itinerary to discover the remains of an oppidum classified as a Historic Monument in 1939 built by the Celto-Ligurian populations. From Avenue Camille Blanc in Beausoleil, take the Tivoli stairs. Cross the Avenue du Carnier, and take the Oradour Sur Glane staircase, then the rue des Lucioles. Then cross the road to the middle corniche Prince Rainier III and continue opposite on the Chemin de la Crémaillère. After 200m, turn right to join the avenue des Combattants d'Afrique du Nord and right again to access the path to the Mont des Mules site. The path, from the avenue, circles the site and stops at the orientation table. Go back down to Beausoleil on foot by the same route. Possibility of taking bus n ° 11 to return to Beausoleil.

The path overhangs and then crosses the Besseuges stream, which marked the ancient border between Provence and the County of Nice, and then you reach the end of the world.

With tourist office’s guides you can push the heavy doors of the medieval castle and discover a really well-preserved historical monument, located in a magnificent park. The Castle of Villeneuve-Loubet, property of the Panisse-Passis family, is a superb 13th-century defensive structure, with a pentagonal keep.It was built in the 13th century, at the instigation of the Counts of Provence and Romeo of Villeneuve. Ramparts and parapet walks are punctuated with five round towers and a mediaeval drawbridge. French King Francis I stayed there in 1538 to sign the Truce of Nice with the Emperor Charles V, a pact which put an end to the Italian Wars.

Marina Baie des Anges is a remarkable strong sign on the French Riviera. Original architecture designed in the 60's.
