Born from the whims of the relief and the fervour of an Abbot, it makes its appearance at the bend in the path that climbs to the Chapelle Largeau. Like a guide or a lighthouse, soothing by its serene presence, and so eternal: the Chapel of Saint Joseph stands at the top of the Ouin Valley. The traveller may be astonished, moved or meditate in front of this majesty. It proudly dominates this valley, at the bottom of which, the river Ouin, runs alongside, meanders and separates, sometimes the Maine et Loire, the Vendée or the Deux Sèvres. This site comprises blocks of white quartz recognised in 1909 as a Monument and Site of Natural Interest. The site of the Pyrôme rocks used to be inhabited by goblins. According to legend, every year at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve, one of the huge blocks of rock would rise up and the goblins would appear offering their treasure, hidden there, to anyone who would agree to give up their place in Paradise. Today it offers an interesting panoramic view spreading beyond Moulins and the Ouin valley toward the Cholet area. A path join the Corbelière Site, "Espace naturel sensible").

Built in the 17th century, it was rebuilt in the 19th century on the site of an old 12th century building, a Romanesque church. What remains today of this old church is the reconstructed Romanesque porch installed at the entrance to the presbytery Regarding this building now, it was in the 17th century that the monks decided to build a new church. Work began in 1681 and took 15 years. The church was burnt down during the Vendée War, like the rest of the town. The original doors visible inside the church keep traces of break-ins committed during the inventories carried out by force in 1906 when the church and the state were separated.

The Nez de cochon, which was created almost 50 years ago, was already a restaurant where lorry drivers could take a break before heading for Paris on the RN 160. A few years later, the motorway was built, saving time for companies and their lorry drivers. For a peaceful stay in the countryside, come and stay in this gîte in Chemillé en Anjou. This typical 19th-century Mauges barn, completely renovated in 2021 with exposed stonework and beams, is spacious and bright. The large bay windows open onto the unenclosed garden and the unoverlooked terrace, offering a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and its cows (the garden and outside areas are currently being landscaped). Centrally located in the Anjou region, the house is within easy reach of a host of tourist attractions, including Europe's largest Japanese garden in Maulévrier (30 minutes away), the Layon valley and its vineyards, the Doué la Fontaine Biopark and the Camifolia gardens in Chemillé en Anjou. This 6-person gîte has two bedrooms (one on the ground floor with a double bed and direct access to the terrace, and the other upstairs with two 90cm single beds that can be made into a large double bed). The mezzanine, which can be accessed from the industrial-style staircase, also has a double bed (the room has no shutters, but blackout curtains). The large living area of 68m² comprises a sitting area with television and DVD player from which you can enjoy the views over the countryside, a dining table where you can enjoy your meals and the fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, a table-top oven, a coffee maker, a kettle, a dishwasher, a microwave, induction hobs ... There is a shower room with walk-in shower and separate WC on the ground floor. A washing machine is also available in the laundry room.
