Close to the village of Fressines, under a canopy of vegetation, this short hike passes through the Lambon valley, with its many stone walls and charming mule bridges. The Salpot is made up exclusively of paths and a few mineralized tracks. Departure from rue de la Billaudière (in the bend), parking available in "La Billaudière". Initiated in the 2000s, the walks are now managed by the Mellois en Poitou community of communes, in collaboration with the local communes. To date, there are 50 of these itineraries, ranging from 1 to 16 km, enabling families, cyclists and experienced walkers to explore the region and discover its many facets (landscapes, small-scale heritage, etc.).

This hike, in the commune of Fressines, leads from the deep valley of the Lambon to the heights of the "Madeleines" plain and the village of Les Chaumettes, along paths often surrounded by high hedges. Parking and departure point on the banks of the Lambon, near Pied-Pouzin, where parking is available. Initiated in the 2000s, the walks are now managed by the Mellois en Poitou community of communes, in collaboration with the local communes. To date, there are 50 of these itineraries, ranging in length from 1 to 16 km, enabling families, cyclists and experienced walkers to explore the region and discover its many facets (landscapes, small-scale heritage, etc.).

Passing in front of the high dry-stone walls of the château "Le Breuil", this hike also takes you to a spring in the Aigonnay valley, to wash-houses and, at the finish line, to the village temple. Parking and departure point next to the town hall square in Aigonnay. Built in the first half of the 13th century, the Coudray-Salbart castle is a remarkable military fortress. A rich architecture: 14 rooms in an exceptional state of preservation including 12 vaulted rooms of various architectural styles (8 open to the public). It is thanks to the ford of Pairé, allowing to cross the Sèvre Niortaise, that in the Middle Ages the suburb of Villedieu du Pont de Vau developed, today the commune of La Crèche. The history of this building begins at the beginning of the 15th century when Aimery de Magné, squire, lord of Isle and Sainte-Néomaye decides to have a stone town house built. He stays there with his servants the time necessary to manage his affairs while the rest of the year, he remains in his castle. Wishing to ensure God's good graces, in 1438, by will, he bequeathed his house to a religious organization to welcome pilgrims going to Santiago de Compostela in Gallice by taking the path between Cherveux and Celles-sur-Belle. During the Revolution, this noble house which had become a chaplaincy was sold as national property.

In 1792, the entire Priory of Breloux was sold as "national property"; the church was dismantled: one part was demolished, the other transformed into a stable. In 1805, when religious services were re-established, the new commune of Breloux no longer had a religious building. A new church was requested. As the village of La Crèche grew, another church seemed necessary. A rich widow, Marie-Angèle Bonneau de Langevinerie, vowed to build a chapel in the garden of her home in La Crèche. Consecrated on 28 May 1858 under the name of "Notre-Dame-des-Neiges", the church was elevated to the rank of parish in 1866. The church of Breloux lost its primacy and was closed to worship around 1848. The organ dates from the end of the 19th century and was installed in 1879.

On the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise, the islands of Candé are home to a lush ecosystem. A walk invites you to explore. Since February 2022, this fragile wetland has been placed under the protection of the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels (CEN) Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Some endangered species of flora and fauna can be found here.

The Villaine bridge, a dam bridge, is located on the Chambon (or Liguaire). From the 13th to the 19th century, wooden shovels were used to fill the ditches with water in the meadows. The farmers then put the hemp they grew to ret (maceration of the flax to recover its fibers). In the 20th century, shovels flooded the meadows for animal grazing. We can notice the location of a wash house downstream of the bridge, there remains only the paving of the ground.

After the sale of the old Romanesque church as national property (after the Revolution), François was left without a church. In 1825, the commune agreed to the construction of a new Catholic place of worship on land donated by Mrs. Emilie Hocard by Mrs Emilie Hocard, owner of the Brissonne. The church was thus built around 1826. An old cemetery can be seen below on the right-hand side.

From 1685 to 1787, being a Protestant was forbidden in the kingdom of France. Protestants could not bury their relatives in the parish cemetery. They were buried in secret. François was a commune with a high concentration of Protestants. They were most often surrounded by dry stone walls or planted with boxwood, yew or cypress trees. The law of 1804 authorized them to enter the cemeteries. However, the tradition of burying the dead in family cemeteries (garden, fields?) is maintained.
