Enjoy this beautiful wooded hike to discover the magnificent 12th-century signal tower. This easy walk offers views of Estenos, Fronsac and the plain from the shade of chestnut trees.

As surprising as it is beautiful, this hike has plenty of surprises in store for you. The hike will first take you to the Esputs (or Sputs) chapel, nestled on a promontory. Every year in September, a pilgrimage takes place with the inhabitants of Chaum and the surrounding villages. After mass at the chapel, everyone climbs up together and ends with a picnic.

The climb up the Portillon Pass through the pine trees will not leave you indifferent. It is a Category 1 pass (average gradient 6.8%, maximum gradient 8.2%). From there, you will take From Marignac station, turn right towards Saint-Béat-Lez and then Spain to reach the foot of the Portillon pass at the exit of Bossost. At the top, descend towards Luchon and then return to Marignac via the D 125C and D 125. Each bend in the climb up the Col du Portillon honours one of the Spanish winners of the Tour de France, with a stele summarising their victories. The view is worth stopping for a moment to contemplate.

Pass through Saint-Bertrand de Comminges and you will be climbing towards the Port de Balès. This unclassified pass (average gradient 6.3%, maximum 11.7%) is tough, but at the top you will be rewarded with an exceptional 360° panorama of the high peaks of the Pyrenees. From Marignac station, head towards Loures Barousse / Saint-Bertrand de Comminges, then Sarp to reach Mauléon Barousse. This is the start of the climb up to the Port de Balès. Once at the pass, descend towards Luchon, passing through all the villages in the Oueil valley, before reaching Marignac station via the D125.

The big brother of the PC 19 route, this one will reward you with unobstructed views of the imposing Pic du Gar and the pretty Barousse valley. This route is a little more physically demanding than its younger sibling. It also has some slightly more technical sections, particularly on the descent.

This is a walk from village to village that is accessible to the whole family. You will be charmed by the local architecture along this route between the villages. You can also enjoy Lake Saint-Pé, located a few minutes away.

Starting from St Pé d'Ardet, you will climb up to the Col des Ares pass and then reach the palombières (wood pigeon hunting hides) located above. This unique hike will take you from one palombière to another between the Col des Ares and the Col du Hô. The return trip through the village of Antichan offers beautiful views of the surrounding valleys.

Come and discover an unusual tree. The Rié mountain is home to one of the first trees to appear in the Pyrenees after the ice age 14,000 years ago: the thuriferous juniper. Start at the top of the village of Marignac and head to the Saint-Martin chapel. Then climb up the wagon track to complete the Thuriferous Juniper Trail loop. It runs through the Rié mountain with beautiful views and takes you back to the hamlet of Saint-Martin through the chestnut grove.

Visible from the entrance to the valley, this is the summit to climb for breathtaking views. This viewpoint in the heart of the area will take you to the Pic du Gar at 1,785 metres and the cross on the Pic Saillant at 1,756 metres.

A memorial hike along the path to freedom: walk in the footsteps of refugees who fled France during the Second World War to reach Spain. This educational trail pays tribute to the men and women who, during the Second World War, risked their lives to cross the Pyrenees and escape Nazi barbarism. This 4 km loop, marked by 12 information panels, follows in the footsteps of a group of resistance fighters who, one night in October 1943, guided by smugglers, set out to reach Spain via Bausen and the Burat Pass. This route has been awarded the Tourisme & Handicap label for all four types of disability (hearing, mental, motor and visual). The route is accessible on foot, by wheelchair or by car: 1.8 km long, including 1.2 km of tarmac road and 600 m of track suitable for vehicles.

Set up in the natural canyon carved out of the Pyrenees by the River Ardour, this via ferrata course is a fun and sporty way for families or groups of friends to make the most out of the stunning landscapes. The itinerary is fully secure and all equipment adheres to strict safety regulations. You will be provided with everything you need: harness, helmet, ropes and carabiners. At the end of your activity, tea and coffee will be served in a traditional shepherd's hut. All participants, young and old, will be presented with an Ardour climbing certificate, as well as photos and a personalized film of the day's highlights.

We are delighted to welcome you to the ski resort of Gourette, on the Valentin valley, on the GR10 towards the Col de Tortes. The 200 m outward and 180 m return zip lines are suspended on a cable between two mountains. They are accessible to everyone aged 5 and over. The sensations are guaranteed for zero effort! A guide is on hand to welcome you. The harnesses are not suitable for people with a very wide pelvis.

An ancient marble quarry: one of the few in the world still in good condition, known for its "Roman breach" (in the township of Lez). Votive altars and marble quarries bear witness to the Roman occupation of Saint-Béat (ex Passus-Lupi). The Roman quarry, one of the few in Europe still maintained in it’s original state, has what is known as "Roman breche" marble, where you can still see signs from the marble quarrying.

A 12th century feudal castle with a keep, stately manor, a cistern and ramparts. The present castle dates back to the 12th century. It was built by the Lords of Saint-Béat to ensure the protection of the city and the control of the valley. It was enlarged by its consuls, and under Henry IV, as well as the city was equipped with walls and gates. It was held by captains of arms until the 16th century, and if necessary, they did not hesitate to requisition the citizens of Melles to keep the place. Over the centuries, the castle did not have to endure any important military events, so it has been preserved in its present state. During the epidemic of 1855, a chapel was added to it and the statue of the Mother of God was built.

Saint-Benoît / Saint-Privat Church of the 12th century, classified in 1994 This work of rectangular basical plan is a major witness of the Romanesque art of the XIIth century. Built in Saint-Béat marble, the floor was raised in 1613 due to flooding. This church houses the city's museum of sacred art.

The Gîte Chez Théo is a haven of peace in the heart of nature, facing the Pic de Cagire! This beautifully renovated gîte is located in a small hamlet, 700 metres above sea level, just outside the small village of Arbon. It's ideal for a family holiday in the fresh air of the Pyrenees. On the ground floor, it comprises a large dining room, a beautiful lounge (TV) and a fully equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge). In the hamlet, the owners have another gîte that sleeps 7. Ideal for a family reunion! The gîte is 10 minutes from the village of Aspet, where you'll find all the amenities you need (shops, craftsmen, Wednesday and Saturday markets, pharmacy), as well as a communal swimming pool in summer, mountain bike trailheads, orienteering courses and potholing. The gîte is ideally situated for hiking along the footpaths of the Piedmont region, but also towards the first peaks of the Pyrenees (Cagire, Escalette, Gar, Paloumère massifs). The first Pyrenean passes are nearby (Col des Ares, Portet-d'Aspet, Menté) for cycling enthusiasts. The ancient medieval town of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges and the spa town of Salies-du-Salat are 30 minutes away, as is the Arbas valley and its many outdoor activities (caving, paragliding, mountain walks, horse-riding, donkey trekking, etc.). The Gîte L'Auberginine is a haven of peace in the heart of nature, facing the Pic de Cagire! This beautiful, fully renovated gîte is located in a small hamlet, 700 metres above sea level, away from the small village of Arbon. It's ideal for a family holiday in the fresh air of the Pyrenees. It comprises, on the ground floor, a beautiful living room (TV, wood-burning stove), a large fully-equipped kitchen with dining area (microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge) and a utility room. There is access to the garden (barbecue, garden furniture) so you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A large bedroom with double bed is also located on the ground floor, as is the bathroom (shower) with Tunisian tiles! Upstairs is an attic dormitory with 3 single beds and 1 double bed (140cm), plus a children's play area. In the hamlet, the owners have another gîte that sleeps 6. Ideal for family reunions! The gîte is 10 minutes from the village of Aspet, where you'll find all the amenities you need (shops, craftsmen, Wednesday and Saturday markets, pharmacy), as well as a communal swimming pool in summer, mountain bike trailheads, orienteering courses and potholing. The gîte is ideally situated for hiking along the footpaths of the Piedmont region, but also towards the first peaks of the Pyrenees (Cagire, Escalette, Gar, Paloumère massifs). The first Pyrenean passes are nearby (Col des Ares, Portet-d'Aspet, Menté) for cycling enthusiasts. The ancient medieval town of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges and the spa town of Salies-du-Salat are 30 minutes away, as is the Arbas valley and its many outdoor activities (caving, paragliding, mountain walks, horse-riding, donkey trekking, etc.). Situated in Juzet d'Izaut, at an altitude of 575m, this bed and breakfast at the foot of the Pic de Cagire - the "Mount Fuji", lord of the Comminges - welcomes you to enjoy your nature break.
