Enjoy this beautiful wooded hike to discover the magnificent 12th-century signal tower.
This easy walk offers views of Estenos, Fronsac and the plain from the shade of chestnut trees.
1 - Park your car by the war memorial on the D618, where there is a small car park. Drive towards the church, skirting it on the right. Turn left into "Chemin de Rebiremont", then right into "Chemin des Coustères".
2 - You are now on a tarmac path lined with chestnut trees. The path climbs slightly and passes under the high-voltage power line.
6 - At the next intersection, turn completely right onto the road going downhill. The road opposite will take you to the Esputs chapel (signposted).
7 - Continue down the steep descent, take a right turn then a left turn and you will pass under the high-voltage power line again.
8 - At a fork in the road, take the path on the right - it's the steepest! Follow the yellow markings, the path then levels out.
3 - At a fork, stay on the path in front of you (ignore the path on the left that goes downhill and the one on the right that leads to the water intake).
4 - Further on, you will see a sign on an oak tree indicating ""Chapelle d'Esputs"". The path becomes steeper and climbs sharply to the right. You will see the village of Estenos and pass by the spring.
9 - Follow the yellow markings down through the village, past the town hall and under the church to return to the war memorial, the starting point of the walk.
5 - At a fork, take the steeper path on the right! Follow the yellow markings and the path will level out.
