Situated in the heart of the village of Pontmain, close to the basilica, its arboretum and a magnificent forest, your host Martine offers you the comfortable and modern flat "Auprès de mon arbre" on the first and top floor of a local stone house. The 75 m2 flat can accommodate 2 to 3 people and comprises : - a living room with a fully-equipped kitchen (oven, hob, coffee maker, fridge and microwave), dining room and sitting area - a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed - bathroom with bath, separate toilet - a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, steam generator and hoover. Imposing structure of four lime kilns resembling a fortified castle, built in the middle of the 19th century. The limestone extracted on site was calcined to obtain the lime, used mainly for agricultural purposes. An audible visit to discover the entire site. Walk along the interpretation path, following the ancient moats, to discover the tumultuous history of the castle during the 100 Years' War, as well as its architecture. The permanent exhibition "Aspects of an estuary: the haven of the river Sienne" will help you learn about the history and natural environments of this preserved coastline. Built from local stone and roofed with zinc to resist the wind, Agon Lighthouse has been a guiding light for mariners since 1856.
