Since Saint Rémy de Chaudes-Aigues, in particular in front of the Romanesque church in the bell tower with comb in four arches, admire meadows crossed by the sinuous river of Bès, paradise of the fishermen. By continuing your road, a passage by the Rock of the Virgin in Roche-Canilhac will offer you another surprising panorama. The next stage of this périble leads you to Saint-Urcize, village raised on a basaltic rock dominating the valleys of the Miserable wretch and the Bès. The old houses, the narrow alleys, the places decorated with fountains, the vestiges of fortifications and the ruins of the former fort give to the city a medieval character and give evidence of its very former origin. The magnificent Romanic church Saint-Peter/Saint Michel du XIIème century, one of the most beautiful of Haute-Auvergne, invites you in the pondering: limp in comb and bell of 1583 (one of the most former of France), ambulatory bent in quarter circle, frescoes of time, incredible stained-glass windows, chalice ... An inescapable building. To note the very beautiful panorama on the tray of Aubrac (we see three departments there!) and on the village since the Rock of the Virgin. It is In this a little isolated village and in the singular church that was sounded, as it is said, the first angelus near 1350. The last step is the village of Jabrun, which, contrary to what one might think, is a famous village. It was first a high place of the Resistance during the Second World War. In another book, a few years ago, the director Jean-Pierre Marchand shot the film «La Dictée» at the village school premises. Not far from this is the Romanesque-style church, which deserves attention... An easy hike, ideal for hot days, the path is shady the most time. From the departure point possibility to follow for 2 km the Peatlog of Vergnes des Mazes with information display boards (in French language). D – DEPART: From LIEUTADES take the car for 4 km in the direction of LACALM. Big parking at your right. Take the path, which goes to your left into a beech wood. Follow it for 2 km. 1 - At the end of the wood take the path at right until the village BURGUERETTES. 2 - In BURGUERETTES take left into the village. Typical architecture and old farmhouses, beautiful view on the volcano massif. Go back and follow the asphalt road to LES MAZES. To see: beside the road a memorial cross, called “Cross of the soldier”. 3 - In LES MAZES in front of a big farm house turn at right. The path crosses the wood and takes you to the departure point. Mountainbike: Easy level, no difficulties, very pleasant circuit.

A long hike with a long descent and long steep climb. Recommended only for expererienced hikers. Beautiful view on the Truyère valley and the volcano massif. The "Roc des Pas" is a big rock which shows curious traces which seems to be foot-and handprints. Their origin is not known. D - Depart Lieutadès in front of the former hotel. Take the road to LA SAUVETAT until VAISSIERES HAUTES (or make the first part of the hike "La Sauvetat". 1 - Cross the village. After the village take a path at left which follows the hedges. After 700 m take the path to the right. 2 - In LA SAUVETAT follow an asphalt road at left, cross the village and take the path which passes in front of the last house. Follow the fence and the large path between two ash hedges. 3 - At the intersection go straight on until a flat site where you follow the fence into the wood. Then follow the path and exceed the fence. The path leads you along an embankment to the "Roc des Pas". At point 3 follow a path at right into the valley which joins another path. Take the second path and go until POUJET. 4 -Cross the D 65 and take the path at right of a house to reach the D 11. Follow the road for 500 m. Take the path to ESTOURNIES and cross the village. The path joins a second time the D 11. Turn at right. 5 - Follow the asphalt road, cross the bridge and take at the next turn a steep path into the wood. Follow it until LA BORIE. 6 - Cross LA BORIE and take at the end of the village a path to your right which follows a stone wall. Take it and go back to LIEUTADES.

After 250 m take a stony path which climbs between the pastures. 1 - At the crossroad with the road to LES VAYSSIERES HAUTE go straight on until LA SAUVETAT. There take the asphalt road into the village. 2 - At the end of the village panorama to the Cantal mountains. Go back into the village and turn at the main crossroad to your left into a path, which passes some houses. At the next intersection, continue at left in the direction of LES VAYSSIERES HAUTES. At the road, continue already 200 m at right. 3 - In VAYSSIERES HAUTES leave the asphalt road and take a path to your right. It will lead you between ash and oak trees until ESPEYRAC. To see: a typical farmhouse with fountain, livestock drinking and bakehouse. 4 - Take the road back to LIEUTADES. Mountainbike: Good sporting level. Climb between Depart and 1 on a very stony path. Sportive climb before 3.

Around Campagnac, go to discover the Causse architecture and smell the scent of boxwood.Borrow the D37 to Saint-Laurent-d'Olt on 300 m. At the Iron Cross, take the left path.It runs along the limestone cliffs of the Ancize (view over the ravine of Courtineaux and Lot valley picnic area).At the junction, follow the right path.It climbs to the house of painter (private property).After the high voltage line, the road descends into the wood.100 m after the ruin of a vine house, turn left into the path that goes back on the shelf.At the top, continue the path in front of 100 m, then turn left.Just before the high voltage line, follow the path left for a few meters, then turn right on the small road lined with big boxwood.Enter the pine wood and then continue through the boxwood  until Campagnac.Cross the village center, then go down to join the gendarmerie.

The church of Saint-Pierre/Saint-Michel, half Gothic half Romanesque, has been classified as a historical monument since 1921. One of the most beautiful churches in Haute-Auvergne. Church known as pilgrimage, the only ambulatory possessed by Haute-Auvergne. The Gothic part of the left was deeper at the time and shortened when the building was refurbished. Sur le Pic de Mus, en regard du Roc des loups, et en contrebas de la statue de la vierge, un second projet a été réalisé avec les élus locaux, le paysagiste concepteur Xavier Bonnet de A3-PAYSAGE et Emmanuel Hebrard, tailleur de pierre. L’idée ? Un bloc basaltique sera creusé, telle une géode, pour permettre des pauses méditatives face au paysage ou sous le ciel étoilé, et offrir un nouveau lieu d’harmonie avec la nature. Sur la commune de Saint Laurent de Muret, le Pic de Mus propose une vue panoramique remarquable sur un promontoire marqué par un volcanisme singulier sur l’Aubrac. L’accès au sommet est relativement court, permettant une sortie facile à destination des habitants et curieux. Le site présente une charge religieuse, historique et matérielle forte. La présence d’un hôtel sur un plateau en contrebas du sommet, et d’une statue de vierge ainsi qu’une table d’orientation en haut, apporte de la symbolique au site.La GéODE de l’Aubrac est disposée sur le chemin menant à ce sommet et est gravée aux noms des lieux emblématiques de la commune de Saint Laurent de Muret, renforçant le lien entre patrimoine local et création contemporaine.

At first simple vessel topped with a modest to limp and surrounded with a cemetery, she(it) was in the XIVth, decorated with two chapels in the first span, the one to the right, the dedicated to Notre-Dame and to saint Blaise, the other one to the left, the based by Guillaume de Montvallat. In the next century, in the second span two other chapels are built, to the right, the chapel Saint Peter, to the left, the Holy chapel Anne. In the XVIth century, the choir is decorated with wooden stalls sculptured with on the file(case) the blazon of the Chapter (classified historic monuments). They were intended for the canons and for the choriers. In the XVIIIth century, the church which suffered a lot since its construction is restored. In the XIXth century, the bell tower deposed during the Revolution is redone, we build 41 stony steps which lead to the church, we place in the choir a high altar in oak, work of the local sculptor Rock. In 1974, vaults, walls, arches are restored. The apse in semicircle (French National Assembly) keeps its valuable furniture: woodwork, stony lectern of time(period) Louis XVI in the eagle in the spread wings, the previously evoked stalls. To admire the stone font worked by the XVIIth, the granite pulpit, Piéta, the chapel of Montavallat which shelters the baptismal funds, the Way of the Cross (long, hard way) in enamelled lava … Outside, on " Planol ", a metallic cross supported by two angels.

Covered washhouse fed by the Lestende spring (62°), comprising 2 successive trays allowing a progressive cooling of the water. For a long time women went to wash their laundry in this part of the Remontalou where gaseous sources and clearances “warmed up” the water from the river. At the end of the nineteenth century, a first washing house was built but it was necessary to wait 1929 for the Amicale Parisienne des Enfants du Canton de Chaudes-Aigues to finance a covered washhouse fed by the Lestende spring (62°), comprising 2 successive trays allowing a progressive cooling of the water. Renovated in 1999, hot water washhouse remains a curiosity reminding that water was used in wool treatment. “The inhabitants of Chaudes-Aigues (…) are industrious, they make the most of their waters, wash the wool before spinning it into mineral water… Without knowing its composition, the men guessed its alkaline nature and used it very fortunately.» Berthier, 1810

The Par Spring: 82°C, the warmest natural spring in Europe. The "Par spring" (82° C) is located in an alley above the Market Square. It is also the warmest natural spring in Europe. Its flow rate is sufficient to power the Caleden spa, it is 300 liters per minute. Its name comes from the word "parer", in French remove the bristles of the pig, which were waxed at the source.
