an easy hike without diffuculties. Interesting: architecture of the La Borie castle dating from the 15th century and the village Lagarde with its historic Templar chapel.
Between Monts du Cantal and Aubrac, Chaudes-Aigues, the only spa resort in Cantal, has the warmest natural waters of Europe. The most famous being the source of the Par and its 82°C. A curiosity that made the city famous. The history of the city is intimately linked to its thermal attractions. No less than 32 sources spring up. The geothermal system is ancient. It dates from 1332 and 40 houses are heated as well. The «Geothermia» museum tells you the history of Chaudes-Aigues, the use of hot water and geothermal energy in Europe. The Caleden Spa Centre offers thermal treatments, wellness and full-health services. To do: the tour of Par en Par to discover the city, with its playful version for children. Guided tours organized by the Geothermia Museum are also recommended.
Christianised menhirBig christianized menhir already on the Plateau of Aubrac in the commune of Lieutadès between Burguerette and Les Mazes. It is on the left side of the road coming from the direction of Lieutadès and dominates the landscape. Beautiful view on the Monts du Cantal. It is listed on the French megaliths list. It is not the only megalith in this region, the Planèze of Saint-Flour counts more than 10 accessible megaliths. Next to the road to Chaudes-Aigues there is also a tumulus.
