Discover Xonrupt-longemer from the municipal camping of Domaine de Longemer

A hilly loop ideal for discovering the Vallée des Lacs and the emblematic panoramas of the Hautes Vosges. 36 km long and 630 m in positive altitude difference, it combines steep climbs, panoramic roads and technical descents. Starting from the Domaine de Longemer campsite, climb the Col de la Schlucht. Take a break at the Roche du Diable to admire the panorama of the Longemer and Retournemer lakes. Just before the pass, turn right onto the Route des Crêtes. At the foot of the Hohneck, we recommend climbing to the summit at 1363 m for a 360° panorama of the Alsace plain and Vosges peaks. Turn around and continue along the Route des Crêtes, before carefully descending to the right along the Route des Américains to the descent of the Bramont. Once in the valley, turn right on the return road and head up the Vologne valley. Pass the Col des Feignes, then descend to Xonrupt-Longemer. Return to your starting point along Lac de Longemer. Tip: to recharge your batteries, stop off at one of the many farm inns along the Route des Crêtes. Take along a windbreaker, as weather conditions can be harsh on the Route des Crêtes.

A panoramic cyclosportive loop, starting from Xonrupt-Longemer, for cyclists looking for steep climbs and unobstructed views of the Vosges valleys and ridges from Haut-du Tôt. With a length of 50 km and a vertical drop of 880 m, it passes through several typical villages and offers a wide variety of landscapes. From the Domaine de Longemer campsite, head for Gérardmer and cross the town. Once in the town center, follow the signs for La Bresse. Shortly after the top of the first hill, dominated by the Hôtel Les Bas-Rupts, turn right towards Rochesson / Vagney on the D23. In Rochesson, turn right 300 m after the bakery, towards Menaurupt. In Menaurupt, cross the road linking Sapois to Gérardmer and continue straight on towards Haut-du-Tôt, the highest village in the Vosges. Enjoy the panoramic views before heading downhill towards the Cleurie valley, towards Le Tholy. When you reach the valley, follow the signs for Gérardmer as far as Rain Brice, then turn left towards Liézey. Drive up to the village, past the town hall, turn right, then take the first left, route du Grand Liézey, which joins Gérardmer via the Pépinière des Xettes. On the way down, enjoy the view over Lac de Gérardmer and its wooded hillsides before returning to your starting point. Tip: to shorten the route, return to Gérardmer from Menaurupt, via the Col de Sapois. A practical variant for adapting distance and gradient. A complete and sporty cycling loop, ideal for discovering the Hautes Vosges landscape, with its valleys, passes and picturesque villages.

An accessible and varied cyclosportive loop, ideal for a road bike outing between lakes, valleys and Vosges passes. 48 km long, with 580 m of ascent, it offers a fine balance of rolling sections, steady climbs and forest panoramas. From the Domaine de Longemer campsite in Xonrupt-Longemer, head towards Gérardmer. As you enter the town, turn right onto the D423 towards Granges / Bruyères. The route then passes through Kichompré and the Kertoff, a superb glacial valley where you follow the Vologne river in a calm, shady setting. At the river crossing, turn right towards Champ de Roches. The road gradually rises to Barbey-Séroux, before tackling the Col des Arrentès, the first major climb of the route. Continue on towards Corcieux, then tackle the Col du Plafond, the second highlight of the loop, offering fine views of the relief of the Hautes Vosges. At the summit, turn left towards Anould, then left towards Fraize for about 1.5 km, before turning right onto the D73 towards Xonrupt-Longemer / Le Valtin. The climb up the Straiture valley is gradual, before crossing the Col du Surceneux. The final descent takes you back to Xonrupt-Longemer, then on to Lac de Longemer, for a peaceful finish between water and forest. Tip: you can shorten the loop by returning to Gérardmer from the Col du Plafond, via Gerbépal and the Col de Martimpré, before reaching Xonrupt-Longemer. An ideal variant for adapting distance and elevation gain to suit your level of fitness or your desires. Grande boucle cyclosportive - Route des Crêtes et Ballons des Vosges. From Domaine de Longemer, head towards Gérardmer, then turn right towards Le Valtin. Pass through the village and continue for 2 km. Near the Etang des Dames, turn right, then immediately left. Follow this small forest road as it gradually rises to the Col du Louspach. Turn right to reach the Col du Calvaire (1144 m). At the summit, turn right again onto the Route des Crêtes. Follow this summit road for 46 km, successively crossing the Col de la Schlucht (1139 m), the foot of the Hohneck (1245 m), the Markstein (1266 m) and the Grand Ballon, the highest point in the Vosges at 1424 m. After 6 km of descent from the Grand Ballon, at the Col Amic, turn right and continue downhill towards Willer-sur-Thur. In the valley, at the traffic lights, turn right onto the N66 and follow it for 7.5 km to Wesserling. At the traffic circle, turn right onto the D13bis towards La Bresse. In Kruth, turn left towards Ventron via the Col d'Oderen. After the pass, go downhill for 1 km, then turn left onto a small road leading to the Col du Page, before turning off towards Bussang. In Bussang, cross the N66 to join the Voie Verte, which you follow to Le Thillot, via Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle. At the junction with the D486, leave the Voie Verte on the right and follow the signs for La Bresse. Cross the Col du Ménil, go through Cornimont, then join La Bresse. Climb the Col de Grosse Pierre to Gérardmer, cross the town towards Xonrupt-Longemer, and finish at Domaine de Longemer. A great cyclosportive loop, reserved for trained cyclists, offering a complete immersion on the route des Crêtes, the Ballons des Vosges and the emblematic valleys of the massif.

From the Domaine de Longemer campsite parking lot, head towards Gérardmer. At the entrance to the town, follow the signs for Épinal and skirt the lake. At the traffic circle at the end of the lake, turn left towards Ramberchamp. Follow the lake shore, then fork right towards Col de Sapois. After the pass, descend to Vagney, then continue towards La Bresse via the Col de la Croix des Moinats. When you reach La Bresse, turn left at the traffic circle, drive for 500 m, then follow the Chajoux valley. At the Col des Feignes, turn left and head downhill. You'll pass Lac de Retournemer before reaching Xonrupt-Longemer, the loop's return point. A complete cycling outing that combines effort, scenery and the emblematic lakes of the Hautes Vosges.

Parking : parking 530, route de la Plage. Walking trail : turn right and pass in front of the Chapelle Saint Florent. Take the footbridge. At the bridge, you have 2 options : 1. take the path Le Delta du Ruisseau Saint Jacques on your left (not accessible to pushchairs). 2. follow the D67a road which borders the lake. At the camping du Lac, take the path along the lake to the restaurant. Then walk along the road to finish the tour. Weather conditions may make this route impassable.

The delta of the Saint-Jacques stream is located on the western shore of the Longemer lake. The site occupies 6 ha of the place called l'Envers de Longemer. It is one of the last natural lakeshores in the Vosges. Its banks are home to exceptional fauna and flora, such as the last lake grass beds in the Vosges. Located between the Saint-Florent chapel and the archaeological site of the Bilon hillock, the delta is also rich in historical heritage, between myth and reality.

Situated on the shores of Lac de Longemer, the little chapel was built around 1449 by the Chanoinesses de Remiremont to perpetuate the memory of Bilon, an officer of Gérard d?Alsace who became a hermit and lived in 1056 at a place still known today as "la butte Bilon". Having fallen into ruin, it was rebuilt in 1727 and dedicated to Saint-Florent by a bishop of Strasbourg. Opened to the public on Heritage Days, the hermit?s bones are on display.

Lac de Longemer "mirror of 1000 reflections", is a natural lake of glacial origin, languished at the foot of the Vosges mountains (76ha of surface) which offers a changing luminosity. A paradise for fishermen, you can also enjoy walking, swimming (unsupervised), pedal boat rental. Very preserved and located in a classified site, it is one of the three bodies of water of the Valley of the Lakes. A signposted footpath allows you to walk around the lake in about 1 hour.

It was in 1927, 28 years after the creation of the commune, that the inhabitants built a church. On 3 May 1933, the architect mapped out the site of the building on land donated by a Xonrupt family. The foundation stone was laid on 25 June 1933. The church was built from local granite with a traditional wooden roof structure.

The Roche du Page dominates the glacial valley of Xonrupt-Longemer. The glacier came from the left and flowed towards Gérardmer located on the right. In the background, the lake of Longemer occupies the flat bottom of the glacial valley.

A synthetic ski jump (excluding grass) 150 m long and 10 m wide, for use by clubs, sports competitions and sports training.

Viewpoint on the lake of Longemer. Its name would come from the fall in the precipice of an old horse, belonging to the farmer of the stubble of Fachepremont. Since this accident, the rock would be called in patois "lè reuche do vié chevau", the rock of the old horse. In Lorraine patois, in the singular, the horse was called "lo chevau", but taken for a plural, the French speakers added an "x". Warning: the access to this viewpoint is by a technical path. Good shoes are required.

Very bright in fine weather, the dining room opens onto a lovely terrace in season, overlooking the Moineaudière estate and the valley.
