A hilly loop ideal for discovering the Vallée des Lacs and the emblematic panoramas of the Hautes Vosges. 36 km long and 630 m in positive altitude difference, it combines steep climbs, panoramic roads and technical descents.
Starting from the Domaine de Longemer campsite, climb the Col de la Schlucht. Take a break at the Roche du Diable to admire the panorama of the Longemer and Retournemer lakes. Just before the pass, turn right onto the Route des Crêtes.
At the foot of the Hohneck, we recommend climbing to the summit at 1363 m for a 360° panorama of the Alsace plain and Vosges peaks.
Turn around and continue along the Route des Crêtes, before carefully descending to the right along the Route des Américains to the descent of the Bramont.
Once in the valley, turn right on the return road and head up the Vologne valley. Pass the Col des Feignes, then descend to Xonrupt-Longemer. Return to your starting point along Lac de Longemer.
Tip: to recharge your batteries, stop off at one of the many farm inns along the Route des Crêtes. Take along a windbreaker, as weather conditions can be harsh on the Route des Crêtes.
