The small town of Coulonges-sur-L'Autize has undergone three major phases of development during its history. In the Middle Ages, the settlement gathered around the church of Saint-Etienne. The medieval nucleus, now a little out of place, is characterized by winding streets where a few houses show signs of age. A second period of urbanization began in the 16th century with the construction of a vast castle, built around a large quadrangular square. Finally, the 19th century ushered in a new period of prosperity and growth. This economic boom, linked to the exploitation of lime kilns, resulted in the construction of major roads, the installation of the railway, the building of market halls and a wealthy housing.

From Coulonges-sur-l'Autize, park on the castle square. A notice board will show you the starting point. Then follow the wooden markers with a bicycle and brown directional arrows. If there are no signs, continue on your way. Discover the Autize valley and let yourself be surprised by the poetry of the landscapes and the charm of the buildings in this area.

Hello, it's me, Galipote, the little ghost and the memory of Ardin, I invite you to follow my steps to discover the village of Ardin and some of its most beautiful treasures !

Wild fauna and flora are part of our local heritage. Called "ordinary biodiversity", these species are often ignored or poorly known by the inhabitants, young and old, who are not familiar with them. This discovery trail is punctuated by panels designed by the Fédération Départementale des Chasseurs and set up in partnership with the commune. Each panel presents an animal or plant species of the Deux-Sèvres. For the plants: flowers, fruits and leaves, but also the use made of them by Man or animals are presented. These "plant kingdom" panels are positioned near the plants they describe. The panels of the "animal kingdom" present the description of the animal, its habits, its diet and its reproduction, as well as the footprints and the signs of presence, which allow to detect their passage.

Discover the Chantemerle Forest by taking the Voie Verte (old railway track) and the small country roads. After a stop near the chapel of the Domaine de Chantemerle, enjoy the shade of the trees of the forest of Chantemerle and its vegetal atmosphere. On the way back, take a break in the village square of Chantemerle before heading back to Pescalis. Don't hesitate to make a detour to the Karting or the Adventure Park located nearby.

From Le Beugnon, park on the church square. A signpost will show you the starting point. Then follow the wooden markers with a bicycle and orange directional arrows. If there are no signs, continue on your way. This hike will take you from remarkable viewpoints to natural treasures, passing by architectural sites not to be missed. Have a nice walk!

This hilly circuit in a corner of Gâtine nicknamed "Little Switzerland" will give you many panoramic views of the hedged farmland, but will also reveal beautiful discoveries such as the small village of La Fazilière, the Saumort valley or the Chêne windmill.

Discover the granite chirons through the bocage landscapes, by taking the small country roads. After a break at the Jardin de Chirons, a picturesque site to discover the granite chaos, and the famous Rocher Branlant, stop at l'Absie to discover the abbey church and its mural paintings currently being restored.

Leaving from Le Retail, you set off on a 9.5 km loop of medium difficulty. Departure is from the large Logis parking lot. The entire route passes through the Secondigny national forest. You'll find yourself 90% in undergrowth, alternating between single and wide paths. The short climbs and descents that punctuate the route will delight you!

Alongside her musical career, she continued her studies in health, obtaining a Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2025. Guillaume MARIONNEAU has studied with organists such as Abel Gaborit, Olivier Vernet, Dominique Ferran and Didier Ledoux. In 1999, he was appointed titular organist at Luçon Cathedral. Music teaching has always been a major part of his activities, and he has taught organ at the conservatoire in Challans and directed the Académie des jeunes organistes de Vendée in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre. He currently teaches organ, piano, musical culture and musical training at the Sud-Vendée-Littoral music school. As a concert performer, he takes part in numerous concerts and devotes part of his time to accompanying choirs on organ, piano and harmonium, as well as to improvisation. In 2020, he recorded a CD on the organ of Luçon cathedral entitled De Paris à Luçon, genèse d'un grand Cavaillé-Coll, featuring works by Mendelssohn, Bach, Franck, Lemmens and Waitzennecker. Built in the 12th century, the St. Etienne's church is based on a cross-shaped plan and was enlarged in the 15 th century by a side nave. Stone of the dead and black stone: The end of the 18th century is marked by a tragic event. On June 23rd 1793, royalists were massacred at Le Busseau during the Vendée wars. Republican troops attack a Vendée camp stationed on the Busseau territory 200 men died and were buried there. This place, located on the current road to Marillet, has since been called "La Fosse aux morts" (The Pit of the Dead). A stele has been erected there as a reminder of the massacre On the Place du Busseau stands another trace of an even more distant past. Since 1960, the Black Stone has found its place there. This large rock dates back to the Celtic period. It would have served as an altar of sacrifice. A trace of the distant past of this territory that I invite you to discover.

The Mervent forest and its reservoir will win you over with their beauty and their many leisure activities. The site is ideal for family or sporting holidays. The gîte offers comfort and charm with its stone walls, exposed beams and large fireplace. The gîte is a two-storey house with 2 bedrooms, fitted kitchen, sitting room, etc. It adjoins the owners' house and has its own green space with garden furniture, parking and bicycle garage. The gîte is not let during the Christmas holidays.

Located on a stretch of water in the heart of the forest, the Mervent leisure centre offers activities for everyone in the heart of nature (canoe-kayak hire, electric boats, mountain bikes, etc.)! The general public, groups (adults and children), companies and people with special needs can all enjoy activities supervised by sports instructors, or simply hire the equipment.
