In summer, discover the Saint Martin de Vertou bell tower, 25 metres high, and enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the salt marshes. Get ready for an unforgettable climb up 103 steps to reach the only panoramic bell tower in the Vendée, and after a bit of effort, you'll have a breathtaking view. Domaine Saint Nicolas is first and foremost a family story. Situated between land and sea, marsh and forest, the vineyard enjoys an idyllic microclimate between the communes of Ile d'Olonne and Brem sur Mer. 32 hectares of vines flourish on the edge of the salt marshes on schist soils with some clay and a lot of quartz. The Saint Nicolas vineyard has been certified Biodynamic for 30 years (1995). These locks constitute a remarkable hydraulic junction. It is the point of convergence of the main rivers of the Marais Poitevin where Deux-Sèvres, Charente-Maritime and Vendée meet. Several locks form this exceptional and ingenious hydraulic junction allowing the management of water in the Marais. You will find in Bazoin the only pier allowing to make the junction between the Charente-Maritime and the wet marsh (Venise Verte).
