Start by taking the small winding path on the right of the car park to join the RD and head for the hamlet of La Portanière. After crossing the RD 14, take the Chemin de Maraval for 1.4 km, then follow the arrow post n°49B, direction Collobrières Village. Your journey begins with the discovery of small typically Provençal hamlets, before leading you to the Peyriers track and its oak forest. At the arrow post n°51B, follow Collobrières Village. After passing in front of the Plaine Longue reservoir, get your calves ready because it starts to climb for about 4 km. You then arrive at the Baudisson hunters' hut where you can take a well-deserved break. Follow the arrow post n°55 "Cabane Baudisson" towards Collobrières Village. Downhill enthusiasts will appreciate the next 5 km which will provide them with great sensations, on a partly stony track, with a ford crossing, to arrive at the entrance of Collobrières village. Don't forget to taste the famous marrons glacés and other chestnut-based delicacies! After your gourmet break, retrace your steps towards the firemen's car park and follow the arrow post n°40C "La Capelle", towards Pierrefeu la Portanière, by "le grand Gageai". After the second arrow post, always follow Pierrefeu la Portanière by "le grand Gageai". Then go up the Rieille track for 5.5 km passing by the lake of Camp Bourjas, rich in various species of fish such as perch, roach, pike-perch... Come on, courage! At the arrow post n°39 "Valcros d'Aumeran", direction Baisse du Castellas, there are only 12 km left before the return journey. Enjoy riding on this great track with a breathtaking view of the coastline and the forest of the Massif des Maures. With your back to the Sainte-Baume Tourist & Discovery Area, cross the road to the corner of the “Parking de l'Hostellerie Est” (information sign), on your left. 1- Facing the Sainte-Baume mountains, take GR9® (red and white markings) going due south, via the trail leading to the forest. After the wooden bridge, take Allée Royale on your right.2- At the junction with the Compagnons du Devoir obelisk, start climbing Chemin du Canapé, to your left. At the intersection with Chemin de Giniez (pole), turn left in the direction of Grotte de Sainte Marie-Madeleine (Mary Magdalene's cave) and go past a first oratory. 3- At the “Oratoire” junction (pole), continue the climb on your right until you reach the stairs and then Mary Magdalene's cave. Taking the same route, descend to the Carrefour de l'Oratoire junction. Then start the climb on your right (GR®9). Go past the Chapelle des Parisiens chapel and continue to the Col du Saint-Pilon pass (952 m). 4- Take GR98® on your right and stay on the trail amidst the limestone pavements until you reach the Chapelle du Saint-Pilon chapel. Then take the same route back to the Carrefour de l'Oratoire junction (point 3). 3- Turn right and continue the descent via Chemin des Roys, following the yellow markings. Pass by the Source de Nans spring and stay on the main path. 5- At the Placette des Trois Chênes plot, with your back to the sign, take Allée Royale on the far left to the wooden bridge you took earlier and head back to the starting point. VARIANT: After visiting the sanctuary of Mary Magdalene's cave, go back down to the Carrefour de l'Oratoire junction (point 3) and continue the descent via Chemin des Roys until you reach the Placette des Trois Chênes plot (point 5) and directly return to the starting point.

This stele has been inaugurated on September 14, 1941 by General LAURE, General Secretary of the Head of State, passing through CUERS, to preside at various patriotic ceremonies, with handing of a pennant to the Legion section. It is located district bridge of Pignans, place where was felled the plane of the chief warrant officer André HOURCADE June 15, 1940. It is a marble stele on which is fixed a metal palm. At the top of the stele, wings, symbolizing aviation, are carved and form a body with the cross.

The first army, which was commanded by General de LATTRE DE TASSIGNY, landed in Provence to liberate the territories that were occupied by the Germans right before going back to Berlin to sign the German surrender. In this first army, which was called "The French Expeditionary Force", there were regiments composed mainly of fighters of North African origin (between 230,000 and 250,000 men). Some regiments were composed of Moroccans, who were called "Tabors" or "Goums". Some others, who were called "TURCOS", had Algerian origins and were part of the 3rd AID (Algerian infantry division). The Algerian and Tunisian sharpshooters’ regiments were with the Zouaves among the most decorated of the French army. But why were they called « TURCOS »? This nickname was given to Algerian riflemen by Russian troops during the Crimean War (1853-1856).
