Domaine Souviou

Description

In the heart of the prestigieous and confidential Bandol naming, this century-old winery grows authenticity and way of living, between vines and olive trees.
Domaine Souviou invites you to discover its wines (AOP Bandol § AOP Côtes de Provence). The estate, with its 7000 olive trees, 200 of which are thousands of years old, also produces an extra virgin olive oil (fruité vert)/(AOP huile d'olive de Provence).

The estate is now owned by Roger Jaar, a polytechnician and international businessman with a love of Provence, who is committed to restoring the estate with great respect for its history and nature. WHAT WE LIKE - The opportunity to enjoy the wines on the premises, accompanied by tapas - The beauty of the vineyards, set between sea and forest - The 15th-century bastide house, to which is attached a chapel with 'angel wings' that once belonged to the French actress Danielle Darrieux.
- The vernacular heritage that bears witness to life on the estate in centuries gone by: bee walls where beehives were kept (a rare heritage in Provence), a well, an old cade oven and a dry-stone hut known as a "borie" in the south of France.
- The magnificent olive grove, the only one of its kind in Provence, with over 7,000 olive trees - The modern, bright tasting cellar, where you can discover Bandol and Côtes de Provence wines, as well as the three varieties of olive oil: VIRGILIA, SELVATICA and PLINIA, which have won numerous medals.

THE SITE The estate covers 95 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and forest overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. With over 1,000 years of history behind it, the estate is a veritable conservatory of 7,000 olive trees standing majestically on restanques, offering you exceptional spaces for all your events. Whether professional or private, you can celebrate your event right in the heart of nature. GUIDED TOURS FOR GROUPS Group tours for up to 80 people by appointment (paying tour €14.50/person inc.
