This trail goes through the Chamonix valley, taking you to the Merlet Animal Park from Les Bossons. All along, there are wonderful views over the Valley and the Mont Blanc Massif. Take the Chemin de la Vigne which crosses the Arve river and go up to the right in the small wood of the Ravin des Vouillouds. The path joins the one coming from Les Gaillands. Continue up a few hairpin bends in the undergrowth. Reach the glacial moraine and the Chalet du Cerro. Other routes are possible from Chamonix, the Cascade du Dard, or Les Bossons. A hike that mainly goes through the woods. A trail that offers sweeping views of the Mont Blanc Massif. From the entrance of the park, go up to the right along the fences and take on the right during 10 mn the path of Bel-Lachat and Brévent. Leave it and go horizontally on the left for 400 m. Go down leaving the Chailloux path on the right. A few twists and turns in the slope lead to a fork: leave the Houches trail on the left and take the one that goes horizontally to the right in the forest. It passes a little below the Lac Noir and reaches the Plan de la Cry. Possibility to start from Les Houches, Les Bossons or Chamonix. A steep walk taking you into the Carlaveyron Nature Reserve. Wonderful sweeping views. Departure from the Merlet park, near the entrance of the park on the Chamonix side, go up along the protection fences and take the Bel-Lachat and Brévent path on the right for 10 minutes. Leave it and go horizontally on 400 m and on the right to go up in the forest during half an hour: we find the path of Chailloux and the itinerary above. Suggestion: Possibility to continue to Brévent over Bel-Lachat to go back down by Pierre Blanche. Other itineraries are possible from Les Houches, Chamonix, Coupeau... A magnificent hike in the heart of the Carlaveyron nature reserve. Magnificent panoramas of the Mont-Blanc massif, the wet meadows of Carlaveyron, the Fiz, the Aiguilles Rouges, all the way to Le Buet. A panoramic hike par excellence, the Aiguillette des Houches is a superb vantage point for observing the Mont Blanc massif. Although challenging, the ascent through the Chailloux mountain pastures is surrounded by beautiful green landscapes, right in front of the Bossons glacier, Europe's largest icefall. The arrival at the Aiguillette des Houches will reward your efforts, with an exceptional 360° panorama: on one side the imposing cliffs of the Fiz chain and the Aiguilles Rouges, on the other the Mont Blanc Massif. The return journey takes you to the heart of the Plateau de Carlaveyron, a nature reserve characterized by its many waterholes nestled between the relief. You'll then make your way to the Bellachat refuge, a superb vantage point overlooking the Chamonix valley. Here you can take time out for a bite to eat, overlooking the Toit de l'Europe. On departure or arrival, you can discover the Parc Merlet, a wildlife park where you and your family can observe the typical wildlife of our mountains (marmots, ibex, chamois, etc.).

This mountainside itinerary has one of the most beautiful views of the glaciers above Chamonix. Anti-clockwise route Pass under the Lac Blanc refuge and take the footbridge down the path. the path, keeping to the direction of the Flégère slopes. Reach the cable car arrival point here. Pass over the Charlanon mountain. Take the path to the flat at the chairlift arrival point. Climb towards Pointe des Vioz and Clochetons de Planpraz, then Col du Brévent. Leave the GR5© at the Moëde Anterne chalets and climb to the left. Pass two easy-to-pass ladders leading to a track (further on, a path leads to the optional Brévent summit). Leave the direction of Lac du Brévent and continue on to a pleasant ridge path. This brings you to your stopover point: the Bellachat refuge.

A waterfall near the entrance of the Mont-Blanc tunnel. In a lovely green setting, this is the last in a series of waterfalls whose swirling, sparkling waters are one of nature's wonders. From the Grepon car park in Chamonix, on your right take Chemin la Fabrique de Sonnettes, which runs alongside Route Blanche. Cross the bridge over the mountain stream and head up to Les Molliasses. Continue past the forest track on your left. Turn right up to the road leading to the tunnel. Follow it for about 50 metres, then turn left to take a shortcut over a short distance. Located at 1120m above les Houches, on the sunny side facing the Mont Blanc massif. It can accommodate 28 people, with the option of 1/2 board or self-catering. The gite was completely renovated in 2008, but on the first floor, the living areas remain as they were in the old gite two hundred years ago.

Located at the bottom of the Valley, Lac Gaillands is just a few miles from Chamonix and the ideal place for a little family walk as you contemplate Mont Blanc and Bossons glacier. The lake is just by the climbing wall on the way out of the hamlet of Les Pècles and near the delightful little Lac de l'Anglais, which tells the surprising story of an Englishman who loved Chamonix so much that he decided to buy the land here in 1886!

A natural site, the glacier descends in a direct line from the summit of Mont Blanc (4807), the highest Alpine peak, by a cascade of ice in levels up to the altitude of 1180 meters, the lowest in the Alps for the terminal tongue of a glacier. The vertical drop of 3670 meters is the largest in the world, for a glacier descending in one piece from the top of the summit to its base. Numerous viewpoints allow to admire the color and the purity of the ice, the lateral moraines, the seracs and sometimes the serac falls.

Le Dard is a superb waterfall towering 20 meters high at an altitude of 1,233 meters. It offers a beautiful viewpoint about 45 minutes from the centre of Chamonix. View over the Aiguilles Rouges range, the Les Bossons glacier and Mont-Blanc. From Le Grepon car park in Chamonix, turn right on the "Chemin à Batioret » path that leads to the Fabrique des Sonnettes Devouassoud bell workshop by Route Blanche. The chalets of Chailloux are built in the middle of a mountain pasture. An exceptional green landscape allows you to admire the Mont Blanc massif as well as the Bossons glacier, located just opposite.

This colossal statue of 25 meters high, is implanted on a rocky spur with a beautiful panoramic view over the mont-Blanc range. Abbot Claude Marie Delassiat, priest of Les Houches, is the initiator of the construction of this monumental statue realized in one year (1933/1934). His dream: raise a statue that proclaims the universal Monarchy of the Christ. The architect Féveille will oversee the indoor arrangement of the building. The pose and the blessing of the first stone took place in August, 1933.

The mountain museum evokes rural life in the mountains through the reconstitution of the rooms of the traditional habitat and the presentation of ethnographic objects used in the past in the valley of Chamonix. Created in 1991, this reserve protects an area of 598 hectares and ranges from 1090 to 2305 m. Welcome to the Buvette du Cerro! Accessible on foot, the Buvette du Cerro is located on the right bank of the Bossons glacier, between the Dard waterfall and the Plateau des Pyramides. Signposted path from Les Bossons and the various access parking lots (Dard and Cerro). Local, organic and zero-waste cuisine! La Buvette du Cerro offers home-cooked, organic, local and zero-waste food. In summer, the buvette is open every day until September 17, from 10.30am to 6pm, then will be open for the All Saints' vacation. No reservation necessary for lunch.
