This trail goes through the Chamonix valley, taking you to the Merlet Animal Park from Les Bossons. All along, there are wonderful views over the Valley and the Mont Blanc Massif. Take the Chemin de la Vigne which crosses the Arve river and go up to the right in the small wood of the Ravin des Vouillouds. The path joins the one coming from Les Gaillands. A hike that mainly goes through the woods. A trail that offers sweeping views of the Mont Blanc Massif. From the entrance of the park, go up to the right along the fences and take on the right during 10 mn the path of Bel-Lachat and Brévent. Leave it and go horizontally on the left for 400 m. Go down leaving the Chailloux path on the right. A few twists and turns in the slope lead to a fork: leave the Houches trail on the left and take the one that goes horizontally to the right in the forest. Departure from the Merlet park, near the entrance of the park on the Chamonix side, go up along the protection fences and take the Bel-Lachat and Brévent path on the right for 10 minutes. Leave it and go horizontally on 400 m and on the right to go up in the forest during half an hour: we find the path of Chailloux and the itinerary above. A magnificent hike in the heart of the Carlaveyron nature reserve. Magnificent panoramas of the Mont-Blanc massif, the wet meadows of Carlaveyron, the Fiz, the Aiguilles Rouges, all the way to Le Buet. A panoramic hike par excellence, the Aiguillette des Houches is a superb vantage point for observing the Mont Blanc massif. Although challenging, the ascent through the Chailloux mountain pastures is surrounded by beautiful green landscapes, right in front of the Bossons glacier, Europe's largest icefall. The arrival at the Aiguillette des Houches will reward your efforts, with an exceptional 360° panorama: on one side the imposing cliffs of the Fiz chain and the Aiguilles Rouges, on the other the Mont Blanc Massif. The return journey takes you to the heart of the Plateau de Carlaveyron, a nature reserve characterized by its many waterholes nestled between the relief. You'll then make your way to the Bellachat refuge, a superb vantage point overlooking the Chamonix valley. Here you can take time out for a bite to eat, overlooking the Toit de l'Europe. On departure or arrival, you can discover the Parc Merlet, a wildlife park where you and your family can observe the typical wildlife of our mountains (marmots, ibex, chamois, etc.).

A waterfall near the entrance of the Mont-Blanc tunnel. In a lovely green setting, this is the last in a series of waterfalls whose swirling, sparkling waters are one of nature's wonders. From the Centre ville Grepon car park in Chamonix, on your right take Chemin du Batioret, which runs alongside Route Blanche. Cross the bridge over the mountain stream and head up to Les Molliasses. Continue past the forest track on your left. Turn right up to the road leading to the tunnel. Follow it for about 50 metres, then turn left to take a shortcut over a short distance. A very pleasant walk through the cool of the woods at first, then above the tree line with magnificent views of the glaciers, the Aiguilles de Chamonix, Mont Blanc and the Grand Balcon Nord. From point I, go to the start by crossing the Grépon parking lot in the direction of the jumping board. Take the path on the right and follow it through the forest or corridor until you reach the forest track coming from Molliasses. Cross it under the cables of the cable car while going up in front of it, then leave on the left the path of the Pré du Rocher. Continue in the forest by the Plan du Trois. The chalets of Chailloux are built in the middle of a mountain pasture. An exceptional green landscape allows you to admire the Mont Blanc massif as well as the Bossons glacier, located just opposite.

This colossal statue of 25 meters high, is implanted on a rocky spur with a beautiful panoramic view over the mont-Blanc range. Abbot Claude Marie Delassiat, priest of Les Houches, is the initiator of the construction of this monumental statue realized in one year (1933/1934). His dream: raise a statue that proclaims the universal Monarchy of the Christ. The architect Féveille will oversee the indoor arrangement of the building. The pose and the blessing of the first stone took place in August, 1933.

Created in 1991, this reserve protects an area of 598 hectares and ranges from 1090 to 2305 m. Welcome to the Buvette du Cerro! Accessible on foot, the Buvette du Cerro is located on the right bank of the Bossons glacier, between the Dard waterfall and the Plateau des Pyramides. Signposted path from Les Bossons and the various access parking lots (Dard and Cerro). Cold drinks and snacks are available on the terrace facing the Bossons glacier. Note: no full catering available at present.

Chalet buvette next to the superb 20 meter high waterfall. View on the Aiguilles Rouges chain, the Bossons glacier and the Mont-Blanc. The Cascade du Dard restaurant offers a varied menu featuring home-made dishes based on local produce (cheese, charcuterie, wine...) and recipes from our region: Fondue, reblochonnade, and the famous "Farçon de mamie", a recipe handed down from generation to generation. Located at 1120m above les Houches, on the sunny side facing the Mont Blanc massif. It can accommodate 28 people, with the option of 1/2 board or self-catering. The gite was completely renovated in 2008, but on the first floor, the living areas remain as they were in the old gite two hundred years ago.

Situated close to the arrival of the Mont Blanc Tramway, the Nid d'Aigle refuge, built in a circular arc, is particularly well integrated into the landscape. SUMMER 2025 Due to ongoing work on the Mont Blanc tramway, access to the Nid d'Aigle will be modified this summer. There are two ways to get to the refuge: - On foot, via the Plat de l'Are path, with a 985 m difference in altitude and a cabled passage ("échelles"). This hike is rated as "difficult" and requires you to be well equipped. At the start of the season, check that the path is cleared of snow if you are not a mountaineer. - By train, subject to conditions: > The tramway is reserved for mountaineers with a confirmed reservation in a hut on the normal route (Nid d'Aigle, Tête Rousse or Goûter) > Tickets must be booked in advance, > And be sure to check the "mountaineer" timetable, as not all trains run to the Nid d'Aigle during the construction work. Facing the Pointe Percée, the highest point in the Aravis massif, and dominated by the Aiguilles du Goûter (3,863m) and Bionnassay (4,052m), our terrace is an ideal place for contemplation. The impressive Bionnassay glacier is just a stone's throw away: early risers are likely to come across an ibex on its moraine. Climbers returning late from the roof of Europe are always welcome: they can even reward themselves with a fondue!
