This route is for the sportspersons ! From Cluses, you will go up to Saint-Sigismond village and its wonderful plateau that offers you a viewover the Arve valley. Take the D902 which crosses the centre of Cluses. At the Carrefour de l’Europe, the Allobroges roundabout and the Lycée Charles Poncet roundabout, continue straight on. Cross the railway. At the Grands Champs Street intersection, take a right turn towards Châtillon Avenue. At the 3rd turning, go right towards Côté Road. This old road takes you away from the traffic and allows you to enjoy the view of Cluses, its valley and the Bargy mountain range in the distance. At the end of the climb, look up! The Church of Saint-Martin is waiting for you there. Continue on your route and take the D902. At the roundabout take the first right towards Saint-Sigismond, Arâches-la-Frasse and Les Carroz d’Arâches.Continue on the D6 (Arâches Road) for 4 km. When you arrive at the village of Saint-Sigismond, take a left turn (D206 - Agy Road). This will take you to your point of arrival: the Plateau d’Agy. You have reached your meeting point with nature and its breathtaking 360° landscape. You can return by the same route.

The Ar'vélo is a cycling itinerary suitable for all pedal strokes. The Ar'vélo is a cycle route along the Arve River. Suitable for family, group or solo cycling, the Ar'vélo rhymes with pleasure and comfort. The easy route links Passy to Contamines-sur-Arve, passing through Sallanches, Magland, Cluses, Thyez, Marignier, Ayze, Bonneville, Arenthon and Scientrier. The Arvélo is similar to the Véloroute Léman Mont-Blanc. Its route has been reworked to ensure a safe outing. On greenways, cycle paths or shared lanes, you'll find different types of facilities.

The route takes you through the Chevran mountain range, offering breathtaking views over the Arve valley. You will then discover the Plateau d'Agy, before reaching the peaceful village of Saint-Sigismond, nestling at an altitude of 900 m. Starting from Le Chevran, this route offers a beautiful climb through the forest, with an exceptional panorama of the Arve Valley. Once you've gained some height, you'll reach the Plateau d'Agy, a place for hiking in summer and winter sports in winter, where you can explore verdant mountain pastures, fir forests and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The first day ends in the charming village of Saint-Sigismond, where peace and nature reign supreme. The next day, you'll head back down a different path from the Chevran, for a different experience every step of the way.

Hardly anyone knew of this climb until the 2009 Tour de France brought it to the attention of cyclists around the world. Its “1st category" rating says it all. Gradient: 7%

From Cluses, go up to Le Reposoir, where you can visit its beautiful Carmel monastry Continue your route up to the famous Romme's Pass thanks to Le Tour de France. Come back to Cluses via the panoramic road. Starting out from Espace Carpano (next to the Watch Museum), take the green way near the Pont Vieux It follows the River Arve and the Louis Rouxel Avenue. At the Mont-Blanc roundabout, take the first turn to the left going towards Scionzier, Le Reposoir (Col de la Colombière), Nancy-sur-Cluses. Follow the D4 for 12 km until you arrive at the village of Reposoir. During this first part of the itinerary, you will follow the route of the Colombière Pass, a famous pass that has been taken during Tour de France on many occasions. To get to the Romme Pass, take the D119 at the entrance to the village of Le Reposoir. For 6 km, you can admire the peace and quiet of this crossing of Romme. Although the gradient on the first few kilometres is high, the rest of the route is much easier. Once you’re at the Romme Pass, get ready to go back downhill again to Cluses. Be careful! The slope is quite steep.

This climb through the forest is very difficult, especially if you take the steep short cut up the "Chemin de la Pendue" (Hanged-man’s Lane) from Taninges through Avonnex.

A very athletic circuit that culminates with an ascent of the Col de la Colombière. Cycling the route clockwise minimises the time spent on the busy main road through the Arve Valley and allows you to climb the shady side of the Colombier. What is more, the descent to Le Grand-Bornand is simply sumptuous.

A chance to discover the heart of the Faucigny region, with its capital Bonneville, the Lac du Môle and the Ayse vineyard. There's just one little challenging section, the ascent of the Côte d'Hyot, with a gain in elevation of 150 m over a steady gradient. Direction of travel: clockwise Length: 55 km Difficulty: red Total vertical drop: 300 m Landmarks and connections: from Cluses, voie verte to Marignier, then Bonneville, Faucigny, Marcellaz, St-Jeoire (junction with Circuit de la Ramaz n°38). The Tour du Môle is a journey to the heart of Faucigny, a medieval province that long dreamed of expanding into Geneva, and which became part of the House of Savoy in 1355. If it didn't belong to the limestone pre-Alps, the Môle could be mistaken for a volcano. It has even been dubbed the Fujiyama of the Alps. Its conical shape, majestically dominating the lower Arve valley, makes it a signal mountain. Surrounded by roads and isolated between the Chablais, Salève and Aravis mountains, the Môle lends itself naturally to cycling tours. Starting from Cluses, a pleasant greenway along the Arve and then the railroad line takes you to Marignier. After 2km, take care on the RD19 and continue towards the Ayse hills on the RD6. Pass through the center of Bonneville, and continue for 2km on the départementale 1205 before climbing to Faucigny via Côte d'Hyot (RD12) and continuing on to Marcellaz. Between Marcellaz and La Tour, don't miss a break by the shady Lac du Môle, with its picnic benches. Then leave the RD907 to enter St-Jeoire. You'll be guided along a pretty balcony road (RD308) that takes you all the way to Marignier. Return to Cluses on the voie verte.

It was built during the XVIIth century. Inside, you will find a beautiful stoup in Flamboyant Gothic Style listed historical monument. Built in 1674, this pretty bridge made of stone was the onlly way to cross the Arve river between Bonneville and Sallanche until 1850, year when the New Bridge (Pont Neuf) was built. A writing in the stone mentions the name of the architect, the year it was built, and the year of the 1sr refurbishment. It is listed historical monument. The old road to Nancy-sur-Cluses starts from this bridge but its is nowadays cut by the highway.

Discover the Museum, a real timepiece of the industrial and social history of the Arve's valley. Follow the evolution of the farmer-watchmakers' skills from the XVIIIth century until the advent of the screwcutting technology during the industrial revolution. Original by its history and its collections, the museum is worth the trip. Instituted at the early XXth century by the National School of Clockmaking of Cluses, the museum used to have 2 vocations : to collect ancient time measure instruments (oldest piece is from 16e century) and to save the local industrial memories. Located into the Espace Carpano & Pons, an old factory, the museum presents also the story of the National School of Clockmaking by presenting unique pieces of clockmaking made by the pupils in Cluses. Theme guided tours, theatric visits, workshops, temporary exhibitions are organized all the year round and will make you discover the treasures of the museum. For schools, from kindergarten to high school, we offer tailor-made activities in small groups. We suggest dividing your classes in advance to create smaller groups, thus facilitating the exploration of our workshops and collections. The building which contains now the Clock-making and Screw-cutting Museum and City Archives is a former clock-making factory created in the XIXth century and refurbished in 1993. The factory used the energy of the Arve river to make the machines move. You can still see remains of the former hydroelectric installation.

Walking on the little footpath that follows the ridge between Châtillon pass and the Orchez mountains, you'll quickly arrive at a sloping ledge with a tiny chapel at its centre. Autumn, late in the day, is the best time to fully appreciate this superb site. The ground is carpeted with leaves of every colour and the sun's low rays turn this little marvel into a colourful array. As soon as you step through the small doorway, you're instantly dazzled by the icon painted on the wall of the altar.

In a clearing, between pines and lime trees, the little Fley's chapel built in 1726 offers its charm. Like La Frasse's Chapel, this was thanks to the pedlars that it could be built and decorated. The chapel was built in 1726 thanks to the generosity of the pedlar Jean-François Sonnier, mayor of Neuf-Brisach in Alsace (a road was named after him there). In 1755, his nephew Antoine Violland refurbished it. He also had the surroundings flattened for the processions and lime trees planted. It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Hermits of Einsiedeln who is worshiped at the Einsiedeln abbey in Switzerland, famous pilgrimage site since the Xth century. Many savoyard pedlars, who often travel to Alemannic areas, made this pilgrimage. Inside, an ex-voto painting and a Swiss Black Madonna are worth to look. Pleasant picnic place.

Built in the begining of the XVIIIrd century, the church is in baroque and neoclassical style. It was built and decorated thanks to the donations of the pedlars of the village. Inside, the paintings, the altarpiece and the rood beams contast with the outside sobriety.

Built in the XIVth century by Nicod Festi, it is dedicated to the Burgundian king Sigismond. In 1471, Antoine Noblet took in charge the refurbishment and extension of the building. From this Gothic era, we only have left the little side door with 3 pointed arch. A stoup in his tribute is visible behind the presbytery. Refurbished at the beginning of the XIXth century by the priest Rouge, it will impress you with all its ornaments and details : onion-shaped steeple, baroque and neoclassic altars, Gothic porch, cupola... A fresco representing the king Sigismond as a martyr could never be completed for the painter died before he finished it. Inside, in the place where the transept usually represent the 4 elements dominated by the sky, the sculptor decided to represent the 4 Gospels : Matthew with a sculpture of a winged man, Mark with a lion, Luke with a winged steer, and John with an eagle. The church is closed to the public besides the masses but a request can be done at the city hall. At La Frasse hamlet, this stone granary built in 1671 in the most impressive trace in Haute-Savoie of the movement of the peddling migrations. Its lintel has the oldest mark of the 4 number. Bought by the village in 2001, refurbished in 2013-2014, la Frasse's granary in a unique testomony of pedlars' success.

In the middle of the hamlet of La Frasse, this little chapel was built in 1686 thanks to the generosity of 5 pedlars and rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century in a neo-gothic style. In the inside, beautifully decorated and colorful, you will find the chapel's former bell, now cracked, which is one of the first bell made at the Paccard foundry in 1823. We can read 3 different date on the frontage : 1686, 1861 and 1977. It was actually built in 1686, thanks to the pedlars of the Violland family, who all became middle-class persons in Brisach in Alsace. It was refurbished in a neo-gothic style in 1861 under the canon Poncet, born in Nancy-sur-Cluses. The last refurbishment was in 1977.
