Very easy marked path, around the climbing rock with a beautiful spot over the valley and the Col de la Madeleine. The path through the forest gives access to the climbing routes. How to get there: From Moûtiers, take the RN90 towards Aime and pass through Pomblière. Take the next exit, “Notre Dame du Pré – Les Plaines”, and follow the D88 to Notre-Dame-du-Pré, then head up towards the Camping du Glaisy. The walk starts at the car park at the Camping du Glaisy. 1) Facing the rock, you will see a marked path on your left which takes you all the way round the rock and offers a view of the climbing routes accessible to climbers. 2) Follow it to the first junction (approx. 100 m). Here you will find a picnic table and a lovely view over the valley. 3) Turn right and continue along the ‘Petit Tour du Glaisy’. This path, which climbs slightly, leads to a second viewpoint, close to a marked climbing route (approx. 50 m). 4) Continue along the path until you reach the forest again. There, the path runs alongside the rock face on the right and takes you back to the campsite (approx. 15 mins). 5) Please note that you will need to climb a small ladder (2 rungs), which is very easy to negotiate. At the intersection with the Pré Communal road, there are two ways to get to this small hamlet of three houses: - the easiest (+ 20 min) Take the left-hand lane up the hill, which crosses the Pré Communal stream and leads to the hamlet after three hairpin bends. - the most difficult (approx. 10 min) Continue along the path you've taken so far, which climbs straight up to the hamlet. A steeper variant, but much shorter! From Pré Communal, follow the road uphill for 10 min, leaving it some 50 m before the second hairpin bend. Follow the path towards La Lèche, then Bois Renaud, and continue downhill on the same path to the Chaille waterfall. From here 2 options: + short through the forest to "Les Foyères" (45 min from the village): Take the path on your left before the bridge and go down to the forest road. Then turn right onto the Hauteville path to Notre-Dame-du-Pré. + long : After the bridge, continue on the forest road that leads to the mountain pastures. Then pass under the ski lift cables. There are two options at this point: 1st option: Continue straight ahead on the track until you reach the tarmac road, which you follow downhill to Notre-Dame-du-Pré (approx. 30 min). 2nd option: Follow the small path alongside the ski lift cables on this old, steeper path down to the village (approx. 15 min). All the way down to the Chef-Lieu, you'll enjoy exceptional views of the Tarentaise and Basse Tarentaise. Discover the historic center of Moûtiers: its pedestrian street and its shops, the medieval streets, the squares, the old bridge, the old archbishop's palace, the cathedral ... The old bridge or Saint-Pierre bridge built in 1785 and classified as a Historic Monument since 1980. It is the oldest bridge in the city. It already existed in Roman times. During a terrible fire back in 1846, the whole of the top part of the municipality was engulfed in the flames. Three people died. The first building below the oven belonged to Marie Revet. On seeing a strong wind blowing the flames towards her house, she ran to fetch the finest of her cows, took it right up to where the fire was raging and vowed to sell the cow if her house was spared and to put the proceeds towards building an oratory to St Agatha. Straightaway the wind changed direction and pushed the flames back to the heart of the fire. True to her word, Marie had an oratory built that can still be seen to this day in the village centre.

On the first weekend of August, an annual traditional fête is held here. It is organised by the municipal sports club together with the village hall, with a different theme chosen every year to inspire the parade that takes place.On the Saturday evening, a free dance is organised on the village square along with a firework display.On the Sunday, there's a croissant sale, drinks to music, various stalls (including a rifle stand, makeup and a tombola among others) and an exhibition on the same theme as the parade, folk dancing, meal with rustic local produce (diot sausages, polenta, crozet pasta, Beaufort cheese and dessert) and a free dance.

This oratory is dedicated to St Mark, the evangelist and bishop of Alexandria. A painting of St Mark used to hang inside, but it had to be removed from the oratory as it was too damaged.Do have a glimpse inside though, to see a statue with a crook. This depicts Bernard of Monjoux, the patron of Hauteville village, and was installed in this oratory when Hauteville Chapel closed permanently.

A remarkable cupstone rich in inscriptions. The view of the valley and the Saint-Jacques chapel from the plateau is stunning. The Roche de la Pérouse is located in a pasture above the Manoir de la Pérouse, at an altitude of 760 m, below the Rocher du Siaix. It bears the marks of glacial striations. The rock is located on a flat area that could have been used as a meeting place. It was here that the location of the Ceutrons (a Celtic people) prior to the attack by the Roman procurator recounted in the Irnec legend was defined. The engravings are of the polishing, staking and incising type and have been inventoried as follows: - 176 gemellated cupules, elongated, disordered and bound. - 6 cruciforms: T-shaped branches, Christian symbol. - 1 stelliform - meandriform representation - zoomorphic: pisciform - inscriptions in figures. 150 metres to the west of this is another rock, also polished by a glacial event at an altitude of 800 m on the edge of the old mule track from Saint-Marcel to Montgirod. It marks the boundary between the 2 communes. 16 cupules have been recorded, 2 crosses bearing the dates 16BE97 and 1936. The etymology of the word cupule comes from the Latin for ‘small cup’. It refers to cavities cut into prehistoric or megalithic rocks. Their origin is attributed to mechanical and chemical erosion caused by the almost permanent presence of rainwater or run-off. The stagnant water in the caves has a very low pH and is therefore corrosive. As a result of this extremely slow process over time, several neighbouring cupules can be eroded.

Come and enjoy the breathtaking panorama from the recently restored Mont Jovet refuge. Guarded in summer, it is ideal for a discovery with family, friends or as a couple. In summer, you can enjoy a range of amenities: showers, rooms for 2 and 4 people, a room accessible to disabled guests and a dormitory. Payment by cash or cheque only, no credit cards. Pets are welcome during the day (on a leash). For hygiene reasons and out of respect for other guests, dogs (and other crawling or four-legged animals!) accompanying guests staying overnight are not allowed (unless they remain outside).

The gite "Pollen" is a holiday cottage in the heart of the village of Granier (Tarentaise/Beaufortain). It is an old mountain building, completely renovated, facing south and with a breathtaking view of the Vanoise glaciers.

The refuge opened in December 2012. Located at an altitude of 2,080 meters, on a magnificent and wild site in the Beaufortain massif. Located on an open and sunny valley, it offers an exceptional view of the other massifs: Lauzière, Cheval Noir, Vanoise, further afield, Meije, Ecrins ... These sunsets over Lauzière remain a great gift! Wild and peaceful place that invites you to contemplation. In winter you can come by cross-country skiing (the refuge is located on the Nordic area of ​​Grand Naves 73260), snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding. The refuge offers a capacity of 38 places divided into 4 dormitories of 6 places, 2 of 5 places and 2 of 2 places. Catering, half-board, overnight stay, picnic room. Shower, Wc. Outside the opening periods (guarded refuge) contact Pascale to collect the keys to the winter refuge which is next to the new one. Renovated former presbytery located in a typical sunny mountain hamlet, 2km from the Nordic ski area. High-comfort gîte with excellent facilities in a warm, contemporary atmosphere. This refuge is staffed and serves refreshments, so treat yourself to a break on arrival! The stunning view from outside takes in La Lauzière, Le Cheval Noir and the Vanoise peaks with, in the background, La Meige and Les Ecrins mountain range. Marmots are commonly sighted around here and, if you're lucky, you might even spot a Golden Eagle!
