Born of a desire to share their collective memory, the people of Queige have created this trail to tell the story of their lives in bygone days, of peasants who wore out their "galoches" and sweated for a living. Life in the mountains was far from easy in the past. Take a walk along the Pointières trail, created by the Queigerains themselves, and you'll discover, between meadows and gardens, the vestiges of a bygone era, such as the thatch at Baëque, a barn where you can learn about thatching techniques, or the Musée du Roselais, a former remue chalet where you can admire objects and tools from everyday life in the past: Do you know the adze, the skeleton key, the crankshaft? Can you tell the difference between a file and a rasp? And the various planer blades capable of carving delicate moldings in a simple plank, or the shoemaker's anvil on which the wooden soles of galoshes were nailed. Finally, there's the Veuillettes garden, where five families lived for part of the year in the midst of some 20 hectares of land. The panorama over the Albertville valley is also quite remarkable!

Follow this original itinerary overhanging the vigorous Arly river and taking roads through pretty high-altitude villages on the borders of Haute-Savoie. Departing from the Olympic city, you follow the Arly river, which you leave behind temporarily to climb to higher altitude via a few hairpin bends you're sure to remember. Then it's on to an undulating road with a forest atmosphere, requiring frequent changes of pace and punctuated by hamlets and villages that will provide you with well-deserved breaks. Take the opportunity to admire the pyramid-shaped Mont Charvin. In Flumet, you'll discover a medieval village with the feel of a village resort, where you can easily grab a bite to eat before setting off again. As you switch to the other side of the valley, you're greeted by a gentler landscape, with a view of the Espace Diamant ski area and a welcome forest canopy in warm weather. A beautiful descent above Ugine offers further fine views over the Haute Combe de Savoie.

From the Olympic city to the gateway to the Maurienne valley, a well-balanced route combining valley and climb to the first heights of the wild La Lauzière massif. Leave Albertville quickly and drive through the typical hamlets of the Combe de Savoie through the department's renowned orchards. Here grow apples and pears, which you can easily find at one of the local markets or greengrocers. The climb up to Bonvillard will certainly require some effort, but you'll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Bauges massif and the Montmélian basin a little further on. Then it's a relatively steady descent to the gateway to the Maurienne valley (oh, there's that little climb up to Bonvillaret, but that'll pass on its own!), which you'll quickly leave behind to return to the flatness of the valley and retrace your steps. In the opposite direction, you'll rediscover the hamlets you passed through before, but from a different point of view: did you notice that pretty barn or orchard earlier?

This mythical pass is a great tour for the best cyclis. After 30 km, you arrive in the Méraillet pass and. have a wonderful point of view in the Roselend's hydroelectric dam. The finish is 10 km further away.

This route is a regular stage of the famous Tour de France. Every cyclist wants to add this pass to his hit list. When you're climbing, the landscape is wonderful.

This tour is one of the longer of our selection. It allows you to cross the Natural Park and discover a wonderful landscape. To return, take the bicycle path.

After 40 km climbing, the pass of Les Saisies is also a challenge of our selection for cyclist. After this ascent, a wonderful, the descent allows you to discover the massif of the Val d'Arly to Ugine. You can go back to Albertville using the bicycle path.

This wonderful tour, since Ugine, is for the experienceder. You'll cross the Val d'Arly and go to at the heart of the massif of the Aravis to arrive in Menthon Saint Bernard, on the bank of the lake of Annecy. The return is by the bank.

Then there's a lovely, very gradual climb that takes you into the very special world of the mid-mountains, with their beautiful forests and large pastoral openings: you've entered the land of Tamié cheese, recognizable by its beige, slightly creamy paste with a firmer center: a stop at the Abbey where it's made by the monks is a must! Once over the Col de Tamié, a fairly technical descent awaits you back down to the valley: a short detour to the Grignon leisure park will provide you with a well-deserved cool-down after all your hard work!

Restored in 1998, the Fort de la Batterie is located at an altitude of 1440 m, in a place called "l'Alpettaz". Facing Mont-Blanc, it overlooks a cliff and dominates the Ugine valley. An area is dedicated to temporary exhibitions: since 2022, an exhibition on the endemic fauna of Madagascar with more than 300 butterflies and insects from that area. The Musée d'art et d'histoire d'Albertville, a Musée de France, is located in the heart of the historic town of Conflans. This square tower is the most representative monument of the Middle Ages and the only witness to the Château de la Cour, which once stretched across this public garden. The Bernadines occupied the site in the 17th century.

It was built in 1762 after a fire on Easter Monday 1761 threatened to destroy the village. The villagers prayed to Our Lady of the Well and promised to make an offering to the parish if the fire stopped, which it did. It was built in 1762 by Jacques Cléry, from the parish of Chevron, after a fire on Easter Monday 1761 threatened to destroy the village of Mérier, whose roofs were still thatched. Faced with the extent of the damage, the villagers prayed to Notre Dame du Puits and promised to make an offering to the parish if the fire would stop. This heifer was auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the parish. When the procession returned from the Mérier chapel, crowds would gather in the church square. Afterwards, Allondains brought eggs, diots and cereals to the church, all of which were auctioned off. The day ended with a ball in the village cafés. The custom continued with the Vogue des Coquets (eggs) until 1995. Over the years, various maintenance works have been carried out, including strapping, sheet metal roofing and bluewashing. In 2011, the town council launched a renovation project. To restore the chapel to its former glory, major exterior work was required. It is the only remaining chapel in Allondaz. Inside, the chapel features a small altarpiece with 2 twisted columns, as well as a 70 cm gilded wooden statuette of the Virgin and Child from the 18th century.
