Monein is characterized by its double face, a historical heart and rural districts, spread over 8000 ha. The town center of Monein has the largest Gothic church in Bearn, the church of Saint-Girons. It is impressive by the size of its bell tower and unique by its asymmetrical frame with double hull of reversed ship. In the past, the wine of Jurançon was called the wine of Monein. One could almost say that Monein is the stronghold of the Jurançon vineyard. Moreover, 60% of the production of Jurançon is made in Monein. It is thus the privileged place to go to meet the wine growers. The interpretation path, marked out with 5 panels, will lead you to the discovery of the history of Monein. From the Casterasses, you can imagine the view that the Viscounts of Bearn had from the top of their keep.

Ideal hike after having a picnic at the Plaine des Sports of Denguin. You can enjoy: children's games, a football pitch, etc. The loop runs along the Gave de Pau before entering the forest. After reaching the village of Labastide-Cézéracq you will take a small country road which will offer you a beautiful view of the Pyrenees. Ideal for family, small bike, wheelchair. The Jacques Barrouillet sports trail was inaugurated in November 2012. It offers three marked circuits; the blue one is a privileged place to walk without difficulties, all flat, well equipped and away from the traffic. It takes place in a magnificent wood of pedunculate oaks. These oaks can be recognised by their short-stalked leaves and their elongated acorns, attached to the branch by a long stalk.

Discover the history and heritage of Mourenx, a new town. From the Belvedere, admire the panorama of this city, born of the incredible energy of the pioneers who made its history. Inaugurated on March 20, 2010, this hiking trail criss-crosses the town of Mourenx. With a length of 4.6 km, you will discover the architecture of the city and its history 5 stations present the birth and evolution of this new town whose existence is closely linked to the Lacq industrial basin. Audio guides are also available to complete your tour. They will show you the construction of the town through videos and testimonies from archives and today. This peaceful interpretation trail will lead you to discover the Saligue, a typical vegetation found in the wetlands of the Gave de Pau. Along the way, you will find interpretation stations that will allow you to learn more about this heritage and its history. After taking 2 years to renovate their restaurant, Karine and Olivier have opened the doors of Arraditz, a Béarn culinary gem. Located on 2 rue Cachau in Lescar, once known as La Terrasse this restaurant remains a gastronomic treat that's also easy on the eye. Food wise, they have earned their stripes. Karine has worked alongside the great pastry chef Christophe Michalak and Olivier with the Ibarboure Brothers, under Stephan Carrade at the Ruffet Restaurant in Paris and in Australia before spending five years at L'Amphitryon in Colomiers, where he headed the kitchen for its chef, Yannick Delpech (2 Michelin stars).

Located at the top of the central square of the village opposite the town hall, the MéMo is a public place where it is not obligatory to be registered to read on the spot and spend a moment. Registration is free for all and allows you to borrow documents. Gastronomy is the central theme of this media library, which has an integrated kitchen area for workshops for users and local associations.

Domaine Bru Baché is in the centre of the village of Monein and just around the corner from the church of St.Girons, a classified historical monument. The Bru Baché Domaine already had 20 years of winemaking experience under its belt when Claude Loustalot took over in 1994. His respect for natural growing patterns has led him to adopt sustainable farming methods. Claude does the maintenance work in the spring or at the start of winter. The rest of the year he allows his vines to remain naturally grassy. And to get the best results from the land, coming through in his wines, he uses organic fertilisers. The 6 to 60 year old vines produce six types of wine which are processed in a traditional manner and aged in oak barrels for between 16 and 18 months. Guided tours, tastings and direct sales are available at this vineyard which has ‘Destination Vignoble’ status.

On the slopes of Monein, near Pau and in the heart of the Jurançon AOC. The Guirardel family has been producing wine since before the birth of Henri IV. Over the centuries, they became attached to their property, practicing mixed farming. In the 19th century, the family began shipping wine throughout Europe. The four-century-old winery offers exceptional aging conditions. Today, the Guirardels carefully cultivate their 5 ha vineyard. South-facing, the vines are sheltered in a cirque facing the Pyrenees. This unique terroir, combined with traditional winemaking methods, has produced wines of recognized quality for over two centuries. Owned by the Casaubieilh family for ten generations, this small 5-hectare estate on the slopes of Monein was taken over in 2020 by Marjolaine de Coninck.

On the hills above Monein, this poultry farm focuses exclusively on traditional and organic processing. Self-sufficient in terms of feed, it grows organic cereals (corn and soya) to feed the poultry raised on the farm, and also manufactures feed for laying hens and chickens, sold to fellow farmers and also to private individuals in bags for their hens. The Barrère farm ensures that animal welfare is an integral part of every stage of the farming process. It has chosen to produce the "bare-neck" breed, particularly appreciated for its tender, tasty flesh. The farm's products include chicken preserves in tarragon, lemon or plain jelly, chicken liver pâté (plain or with chilli), chicken basquaise, chicken gizzard confit...

The estate is located in Monein, a traditional village in the heart of the Jurançon AOC region and it is set on a hillside near the church of St.Girons church, a classified historic monument. The owner Pierre welcomes visitors to his estate in a traditional Béarnaise building where they can try both dry and sweet wines. The cask storage cellar emphasises the authenticity of the Jurançon vineyards and is witness to the rich history of the estate.

Clos Mazangé is at the foot of the Monein hillsides, a village in the heart of the Jurançon vineyard AOC region, near to Pau and Oloron Ste Marie. The owner, Christian Lombart, welcomes visitors to a traditional Béarnaise house with a small cellar in an outbuilding. He has one hectare of vines which produce around 1500 bottles; production began eight years ago with a 60 % Petit Manseng and 40 % Gros Manseng split. Fermentation happens in barrels and the aging process takes place in vats or barrels depending on the year and the harvest. The Clos has a tasting room which can accommodate up to 25 people. In July and August (subject to availability), guided tours around the vines on a quad bike and trailer are available, ending with a visit to the cellars and wine tasting.

On the way into Monein, on a hillside overlooking the village centre and the church of St.Girons, the Clos Laplume is a traditional estate surrounded by vines. André Laplume relaunched the small family estate around 15 years ago. André and his daughter Camille greet guests in a beautifully converted barn, which features exposed pebble walls, light coloured timbers and a large farmhouse table. Visitors can tour the set up, including the traditional cask storage cellar. Two sweet and dry wines are on offer. These are made with Petit Manseng, the only grape variety grown on the estate.
