Trail marking: Yellow-red Land of springs, the Ternois is of real interest both in terms of fauna and flora. It offers a diversity of landscapes rich in wooded and hilly sites, crossed by waterways. The Authie, the Canche, the Clarence, the Lys and the Ternoise constitute a real reservoir of water for the well-being of walkers and fishermen. Proud of its illustrious past, the Ternois has a remarkable historical and cultural heritage. Here, castles, manors, water mills, old farms and typical houses dot the different landscapes. Finally, a land of passage since always, the Ternois has retained the sense of hospitality and welcome, specific to a region with strong traditions.Here are the different stages awarding this course :  Etape 1 (13km): de la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise à Monchy Cayeux  Tout commence à la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise ou vous traverserez les nombreuses rues de la capitale du Ternois pour arriver au hameau de Saint-Martin. Un point de vue sur le village est situé dans la vallée pour plus de visibilité. En Arrivant dans la ville, vous pouvez apercevoir l’Eglise médiévale de Saint-Martin. Cette église partiellement détruite au cours de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale est devenue importante pour le canton de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise. Pour finir cette première étape, vous arrivez sur Monchy Cayeux. Etape 2 (16,5km): de Monchy Cayeux à Auchy-lès-Hesdin Durant cette deuxième étape, vous aurez le privilège de pouvoir visiter l’église Saint-Léger d’Anvin, une église datant de 1562 ayant été restauré durant le 19e siècle. Pour continuer sur le chemin, l’églide de Teneu, plutôt d’un style byzantin Saint-Germain du 18e siècle. De passage dans de petites communes du ternois comme Tilly-Capelle, Blangy-sur-Ternoise ou encore Rollancourt. Etape 3 (14km): de Auchy-lès-Hesdin à Wail En quittant Auchy-lès-Hesdin, vous déboucherez sur un chemin qui vous mènera directement sur la place principale d’Auchy-lès-Hesdin, connue pour être le reste d’une abbaye ou plusieurs des chefs français tués à la bataille d’Azincourt furent inhumés. Une petite halte à Grigny ? C’est tout à fait possible surtout pour visiter l’église Sainte-Gertrude de style gothique de 1680. Etape 4 (16km): de Wail à Frévent La fontaine Saint-Fiacre, l’église Saint-Martin du 18e siècle, la ferme du Valentin de 1772 ainsi que le moulin, c’est tout ce que vous pouvez retrouver dans la commune appartenant aux 7 vallées. En quittant Wail, vous tomberez sur Fillièvres, anciennement Ferives en 1112. Une jolie balade au bord de la Canche et ses marais. Cette rivière, ou plutôt cette rivière qu’est la Canche qui se jette dans la mer avec plus de 97 kilomètres de longueur. Etape 5 (19km): de Frévent à Saint Pol Pour finir cette dernière étape du Sentier du Ternois Sud de plus de 19km commence par la commune de Frévent avec son Eglise Saint-Hilaire, maintes fois endommagée et restaurée est un bel exemple du gothique du 16ème siècle et du néo-gothique du 19ème siècle. Sur le chemin final, vous passerez dans les communes de Sibiville, Ramecourt à travers champs. Avant de rejoindre le commencement de ce GR du Ternois Sud, vous longerez le bois qui vous permettra de vous remémorez chaque moment passé durant ce sentier de grande randonnée

The Authie, the Canche, the Clarence, the Lys and the Ternoise constitute a real reservoir of water for the well-being of walkers and fishermen. Proud of its illustrious past, the Ternois has a remarkable historical and cultural heritage. Here are the different steps : Stage 1 (16km): from Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise station to Diéval Your adventure begins at Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise station, where you will be greeted by the typical charm of the Ternois region. Leaving the station, the path takes you through the northern suburbs of the city. On the way, you will pass through the charming towns of Troisvaux and Valhuon. You will have the opportunity to see the Château de Troisvaux, a magnificent historic building which bears witness to the rich past of the region and the Abbey of Belval. Stage 2 (14km): from Diéval to Aumerval  You will head towards the neighboring village of Bours, renowned for its emblematic Dungeon, the remains of an ancient medieval castle. This imposing structure offers a fascinating insight into the history and architecture of the region. As you pass through the village of Pernes, once a fortified town, you may be able to imagine its tumultuous past through its cobbled streets and ancient ramparts. Your final destination for this stage is the charming village of Aumerval, nestled in the heart of Ternois. Known as "Little Vendée", Aumerval is famous for its royalist harvest and its peaceful atmosphere.  Stage 3 (12km): from Aumerval to Fiefs  The trail will take you through varied and picturesque landscapes of the Ternois. Passing through Amettes, you will have the opportunity to visit the birthplace of Saint Benoît Labre, a place steeped in spirituality and history. Along the way, you will cross the Nave River, which winds through the commune of Nédonchel over a length of 22 kilometers, offering breathtaking natural panoramas. Continuing your hike, you will probably follow the course of the Nedonchel, another river which has its source in the commune of Fiefs. Subsequently, you will arrive at Fiefs, a typical Ternois village. Étape 4 (15km): de Fiefs à Equirre En quittant Fiefs, vous suivrez les chemins de campagne à travers des champs verdoyants et des bois pour rejoindre dans la commune de Fontaines-les-boulans puis Equirre.  Étape 5 (15km): d’Equirre à Saint-Martin Avant de quitter Equirre, vous aurez la possibilité de visiter son église datant su 17ème siècle pour atteindre les village d’Heuchin et du Petit-Anvin, dans lequel se trouve les vestiges d'un château du 15e siècle. Étape 6 (6km): de Saint-Martin à la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise La dernière étape vous ramènera à votre point de départ, la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise. Après Saint-Martin, vous cheminez au travers de paysages variés familiers, profitant une dernière fois des charmes naturels du Ternois.
