Hills alternate with scenic views of the landscape, on this shady walk. In the summer months you will hear the excited cries of the swimmers of Lake Saint Chavit.

This short walk, which most often takes shaded paths, will introduce you to the traditional architecture of the Haut-Agenais Périgord, dovecotes, farms, houses of character.

This walk first follows a part of the GR 636 of the "Traversée du Périgord" and of the GR 654 (the path coming from Vézelay and going to St-Jacques-de-Compostelle), before returning to the opposite ridge by a wooded path.

This walk has tracks over shaded paths, at the bottom of the valley, and it has hikes over wide open fields, offering nice views on the sites of Biron, Born, Monflanquin, etc ...

Hazelnut orchards will be omnipresent on this hike. From the church of Millac, you will perhaps accompany a few pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. You will end your little walk with a magnificent viewpoint from the hill of the old castle.

Hiking and gastronomy go hand in hand on this track where you walk through plum and hazelnut orchards. The plums are made into prunes at the Lamouthe plum drying cooperation, which also produces Kokine sweets, made from hazelnuts. Local ‘charcuterie’ can be found at Jaffrenou (address : Terreblanque).

The GR® 654 crosses France starting in Vézelay, in Burgundy. It crosses the Lot-et-Garonne from north to south for nearly 150 km, from the plum trees of the Haut-Agenais to the sandy soils of the Landes de Gascogne, passing through the Lot and Garonne valleys.

From the church Sainte Madeleine, this walk climbs into the hamlet of Montaut-le-Jeune. The church of Bournel, which dates from the 12th and 14th century, is nestled at the foot of a wooded hill. It is surmounted by an original 15th century bell tower which consists of an assembly of wooden beams on the outside of the square tower, in which the dome is situated. A chapel is dedicated to Saint-Roch and Sainte-Madeleine, patrons of pilgrims. At the top of the portal, a figure wears a large hat with shells. The Lougratte Aqualudik Park is a water park in the heart of nature, ideally located between Castillonnès and Cancon. It is located at the Lougratte lake leisure centre, the only lake in the region to have been awarded the Pavillon Bleu (Blue Flag) label. It is open to accompanied children aged 6 and over or unaccompanied children who can swim (aged 7 and over), This activity is supervised by lifeguards and each participant is equipped with a lifejacket, which we provide.

This couple of farmers welcomes you on their property to show you all the ways of the plum, from the tree to the sachet of prunes. They harvest, calibrate, condition the small fruit and make you taste it with a lot of generosity.

Dating from the 15th century, this church was built by Jean Alphéry, Lord of La Tuque. The Valette church was partly restored by the Dycayron family ( who inherited the Château de la Tuque at the time) in 1901, then by the commune of Lougratte in 2003. The church welcomes weekly exhibitions in summer (June to September).

In Montaut, 7 kilometers from Villeréal, used to exist a priory of the order of Saint Benoît(currently the presbytery), the tower of which was demolished in 1865. The church of Saint Pierre, with its 13th centurynave, star-vaulting, its arched portal ornamented with six pillars, 15th century frescoes, and a dome-shaped 13th century bell-tower testify to the importance of the building in former times. In the 14th century, it was the seat of an archbishopric which comprised 91 parishes and 23 annexes.

20 km from Villeneuve-sur-Lot and 10 km from Monflanquin, Cancon is proud to present itself as the capital of hazelnuts: more than 95% of these dried fruits produced in France (approximately 7000 tons) pass through this commune located in the country of the bastides. Hazelnut trees (coudrier in old French) have always been found in the surrounding forests, but their cultivation in orchards, as with other fruit trees, is much more recent and only really developed from the 1970s-1980s. In the centre of the village, discover the Baltard-type market hall and above all, the medieval quarter and its small flowery streets, the panoramic site of the castle and its 11th century, which reminds us that Cancon controlled the Roman road from Agen to Périgueux. Don't leave without a visit of the Koki shop, which sells hazelnut-based products and prunes.

Built in the 15th century, the church at Lugagnac was partly destroyed during the Wars of Religion. It was rebuilt in the 17th century, along with the chapels of Saint-Roch and Saint-Jean. It was sold during the Revolution, but returned to the bishopric in the 19th century. Now desanctified and owned by the commune, it underwent a complete restoration in 1990, culminating in the creation of six stained-glass windows by Olivier Debré.
