"Wild Coast"! The name of the site holds the promise of a change of scenery and isolation. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, the 34 hectares of the Conservatoire's property in the commune of Soorts-Hossegor, form a well-preserved dune barrier of sufficient height and width to hide from beach users the residential areas hidden under the forest fringe. Between the ocean beach to the west and the Boulevard du Front de Mer which runs along the back dune to the east, the site is 95% composed of non-forested dunes. The natural forest edge is almost absent, only a few relics are present in the central zone, but are quite degraded. The dune is gently sloping on the beach side and steeper to the east. It is covered with sparse vegetation. It is a beautiful example of a dune of the south Landes coastline, which is rare and not very prone to erosion.

Statue of Our Lady: it was made by the sculptor Lucien Danglade (1851-1951). Third session is a new art center dedicated to contemporary photography, located at the Pavilion of the forest, in the village of Soorts. The estacade was buit by the emperor Napoleon III during 1858. Later it was modificated and in 1948 was added a lighthouse. In 1950, a lantern which lightened at 14 miles was built. Nowaday, the estacade measures 189 m 60.
