AN ARTISTIC ROUTE BETWEEN SOUSTONS CITY AND SOUSTONS BEACH The concretization of a project a little bit crazy! It is an incredible project which sees the day along the 8 kilometers of the soft way which connect the lake of Soustons to the ocean beach! SCULPTURES IMAGINED BY CHILDREN AND MADE BY STUDENTS All started from the communal will to develop an educational, environmental and cultural project of territory, concretized thanks to the imagination of the teacher and the pupils of CM2 of the school of Isle Verte and to the meeting with an eco-interpreter with whom they worked on the artistic interpretation of the fauna and the flora met on these 8 kilometers of green way.

This loop guarantees you an incredible diversity of landscapes! The secure cycle paths take you past the ocean beaches, the marine lake of Port d'Albret, the forest of tall pines and the shady shores of Lake Soustons. Get on your bike and discover the beauty of the south coast of the Landes.

Walk in the footsteps of the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela by taking the "Bayonnais" path

On this path in the forest, you will discover a "douys" water point (small hole) surrounded by large pines and oaks where the shepherds used to make their sheep drink, then a "palombière" on the "ground" before joining the path of the bayonnais.

An abandoned and dilapidated goshawk, which the knowledgeable handymen of the City Council have rehabilitated. This one culminates on a hillock, the fifth explanatory site described during the walk. Signs briefly tell the life of the Landes forest. The one of the ditches evokes swamps, the road to Compostela, shepherds, sanitation... The cork oaks are an excuse to learn about their economic role in Vieux-Boucau. Further on, the walker learns about the gluttony of the maritime pine swallowing its 45 tons per day for a wooded hectare. The fourth stop, in a clearing, reminds us of the damage caused by Klaus. The circuit climbs up to the pigeon house and the explanations of this traditional hunting. The smallest and least accessible of the 5 lakes of the commune, separated from Lac Blanc only by a bridge, it is a real reserve au naturel. However, some of it can be avoided by walk and enjoy superb views of the wildlife and wild flora.

L'Étang Blanc straddles Seignosse, Tosse and Soustons. It is intermittently accessible and offers magnificent light all year round. You won't be able to walk around it, as the marshy meadows that border it are protected and inaccessible. The numerous stilt huts are used as duck-hunting blinds.

Protecting 52 ha of wetlands, the Nature Reserve is the home of characteristic wildlife habitats in Les Landes. A wooden plank footpath leads you to the lake through a swamp forest, bog, stream... L'Etang Noir which gives its name to the nature reserve stands out by its deep waters and mudflats. Heritage – Gallery The Fonds Labégorre shelters a heritage area dedicated to the work of art and career of the Aquitaine painter Serge Labégorre : the very last great artist of the expressionnist movement ; as well as a large art gallery where the canvases of this great painter, whose work is regularly renewed, meet the work of other symbolic artists, during temporary exhibitions.
