From the Gironde estuary to the Atlantic Ocean, this itinerary is an ideal nature walk for the whole family in Le Verdon sur Mer. Located a few kilometres from Soulac-sur-Mer, this route offers a diversity of landscapes: maritime pine forests, marshes.. The itinerary that we propose to you borrows several types of ways: streets in the city center, a cycle track, a forest road and a forest road in limestone. There is no continuous signposting throughout the walk, but the paths are logical and the description of the itinerary will be enough to guide you.

The 500-kilometer, 21-stage Chemin d'Amadour combines the spirit of a legendary pilgrimage with the authenticity of rural landscapes. This easy loop combines two UNESCO World Heritage sites. After a visit to the Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-fin-des-Terres, the tour takes you through the narrow streets of the pretty seaside resort, from the colorful houses of Soulac to the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall in the village of Les Arros. You walk along the beach, with the Cordouan lighthouse towering over the horizon. You'll ride along a dune line populated by oyats, laurel, yucca, broom and arbutus. A must: pedal during the yucca flowering period in summer, or between the red arbutus in autumn, breathing in the fragrance of the plants.

2014 saw the resumption of oyster farming along the estuary, which had previously been banned. The quality of the water now allows oysters to be matured in the marsh for sale to private individuals. The site also boasts a leisure area where the common denominator is a love of nature, including fishing and the observation of seabirds such as curlews, plovers, redshanks and various sandpipers.... There is also a picnic area where you can eat on site in a peaceful setting. A fishing net is available for visitors, mainly for mules and mullets, and can be hired from the Mairie.
