This 35 km itinerary, which can be completed over two days, takes you from Saint-André-de-Cubzac to Blaye, with an overnight stop in Bourg-sur-Gironde bourg-sur-Gironde for the night. On the GR®655, you can contemplate the banks of the Dordogne, the Gironde Estuary and its numerous harbours and atypical carrelets, as well as the Moorish-style houses of Bourg, its château, church and washhouse, before rising above the vineyards to reach the splendid and famous citadel of Blaye. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!

From the hillside of Montalon and its remains of old windmills, discover the superb panorama over the Dordogne valley! After having crossed a landscape alternating corn fields and vineyards, along a shady path, reach the port of Plagne, a peaceful place on the banks of the Dordogne. On the way back to the village, you will discover its architectural jewels, notably the Robillard castle and its park.

At the car park, leave to the right direction " BL of Prignac and Marcamps and natural site". Stay on this path which goes along a small stream on the right. Leave the one which goes to the right up and to cross near the picnic area and vestiges of a hydraulic arrangement: source, wash house and watercress bed. At the end of the path turn left and follow one of the canals of the wet zone to join the "Moron" river. Turn left and follow the river on this route lined with stone benches of Bourgeais stemming from quarries previously seen. Attention no sign. At the sign, two possibilities: - Possibility of getting to the cave of Pair-non-Pair: continue quite straight ahead. At the end of the path, rise by the left to gain a tarred road. Turn right and move forward up to the cave. - Turn left and move forward up to the playground. Turn towards the right and to take the path which would almost brown you on your steps. After several meters, at the top of the hill, leave to the left between wood and houses, direction "Prignac and Marcamps Bourg". Attention no sign. At the intersection, do not miss the charming church St-Michel de Marcamps dating back to the XIIIth century, in 200 meters on the left; otherwise turn right. Follow the way tarred until the intersection with the D133. Cross quite straight ahead by the "Chemin de Cabiraud". Do not miss to discover the picturesque wash house of Nolly: the sign indicates it on the left. At the end of the "Chemin de Cabiraud", turn left and follow the road up to the "Chemin de Moulinot". Turn left and follow quite straight ahead. Make a commitment on the path marked out to the left and to follow it among copses up to the small tarred road. There, turn left and walk between the impressive quarries of open-air stone until the intersection with the D133. Attention no sign. Leave to the left on the D133 and almost immediately turn right to come down the "Chemin de Jolias". At the second crow's-foot, set to the left to enter the hamlet. At the corner of the last house, turn left and go down the path which returns to the natural site of "Moron". Pursue the descent until the signs. Turn left to join the car park.

Departure from the car park of the church of Tauriac. Walk in front of the City hall, then the school and take the second street right “Guinaudine", until the intersection with the street “Carrière": beautiful view of the castle Labarde. At the stop, turn right. Climb the small hill, then get down again. At the first intersection, turn left to follow the small tarred path. Go down the valley then go back up to the road “Route des châteaux”. Of this point, by leaving to the left, possibility of shortening the stroll. Pursue the stroll by turning right. In the hamlet, turn left on the path "Du moulin vieux". At the sign, walk to the left the dirt track and continue quite straight ahead between plots of land of vineyard. Just before the castle Mounichoux, at the end of the ranks of vineyard and at the sign, leave to the right. Come down opposite between vineyards and wood. At the house, the path) continues quite straight ahead. It becomes tarred downward the route. Continue quite straight ahead until the intersection. At the sign, turn left and continue on this tarred road, along the breeding of deers. Cross the bridge of the small brook: we are down the castle Bousquet. In the hamlet "Le Ligat" are the tracks of the former railroad between St André de Cubzac, Bourg and Blaye. At the end of the hamlet, at the sign, turn left and continue up to the last house. Go up the valley. Leave to the right on the bank lined with trees. In the rear, near a house, leave to the left. Follow this small tarred way and at the intersection, turn left. Caution: traffic. Cross the CD 669: Caution: traffic. Leave to the right up to the first small tarred path. Turn right and continue on this small path up to a coomb to the right in the vineyards which allows to have an exceptional point of view on Bourg and its river. Return by this small path until D669, stay on the low side and walk to the right. Leave to the left and to follow the path tarred by right which is lined with stone pines. In the crow's-foot, continue to the left in descent. Come down by a path lined with trees up to the locality "La Lustre". In the tarred road, turn left and go until stop: be careful of the car traffic in all the village. Cross the CD669. Leave to the right by remaining good on the pavement. At the first intersection, at the sign, turn left and take the “Route des Châteaux". Continue by rising by the same way. At the end of the village, at the sign, set to the right the “Chemin de Montforton". Do not go into the hamlet but go down the path towards vineyards and small brook. Cross the small bridge and go back up quite straight ahead. On the left are a fountain and a stone wash house. At the intersection, borrow opposite the Chemin du Gros ". Continue quite straight ahead until the intersection with the “Route de Beurié ". Turn to the left and turn right immediately. Continue on the path up to the wood. Turn left up to the tarred road. Turn right and join the car park of the departure.

Saint-Vincent-de-Paul is a small, rural commune in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, located at the crossroads of two major historical routes: the Dordogne, which for centuries was sailed upstream by ships for the wine trade, and the road to Paris, once used by Frankish invaders and pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The Fronsadais, a land of many landscapes, allows you to walk between hills and valleys, between marshes and vineyards or in the forest. Discover Villegouge, located on a site occupied since the Neolithic period. Here, the vines produce mainly AOC Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur wines. Departure from the parking of the town hall of Pugnac From the parking, pass between the school and the hall, street "St Mamet - La Salvetat". Continue straight until the stop sign. Take the pave road in front until the next stop. At the intersection, turn right. We arrive at the hamlet "Les Métairies", cross it. At the following hamlet, go to the second intersection, at the signs, turn left. This pave road became a path that we take straight to toward the marshes of Moron. After the last house, you can go straight to take a break on the edge of the Moron. Otherwise, continuer the ballade, turn left on a grassy path. Then, at the intersection of two paths, continue straight ahead. Few meters away, turn left. Continue straight along a pond. At the signs, go on the right. Before the stop, turn right to take the white path. Arrived at the pave road, cross it and take the path in front to "Cassillac". At the end of the hamlet, turn left and continue on this same path to enter in "Augereau". Then, turn left and at the end of it, turn right. Take the right side again to "Lassalle". This is particularly here that there was a roman housing was excavated and then covered to prevent damages. At the entrance of the hamlet , leave the pave road to take on the right a path, going to "Le Vieux Moulin". Close to the creek, at the watermill's ruin well hidden by the vegetation, turn left and continue straight in undergrowth until "St-Urbain". At the road D23, cross it to arrive at the St Urbain Chapel, from the VXIIth century. The West entrance has a a steeple, which was restored in 1894 you can visit the Chapel or take a break on the public bench. Get back on the road and turn right : Caution with the traffic. A the signs, turn right. At the next intersection, walk straight ahead to "St Christoly". At the signs, go on the left on the path. At the end of the vines parcel, turn left. Go around it between the vineyard and the wood. Take the right at the end of the parcel and straight then right until the next signs. Get back on the pave road. Turn left to join the D135. At the intersection, turn right. At a hundred meters, turn left to go down in undergrowth. Just after the creek, go on the right to take a grassy path that winds between plots : turn left to go up, then on the right and finally on the left to a little pave road. At the intersection, at the signs, go up straight ahead. Stay on this little road, to the center of Pugnac. After the cemetery, at the signs of the intersection, turn left to arrive at the street "Des Anciens Combattants" that take you back at the starting point. Before going back at the town hall, you can go at the church Notre-Dame of Pugnac, this romanesque church was destroyed and rebuilt at the XIXth century.

This 65-hectare park illustrates the successful reconversion of an old gravel pit, whose 3 ponds make it all the more picturesque. In summer, at the end of August, don't miss the Ambès Odysseys festival, dedicated to the performing arts. In the 18th century, Ambès was a meeting place. Located at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Garonne, where the two rivers mix to form the Gironde, the largest estuary in Atlantic Europe. A vast traffic of goods, including contraband, existed then with the ports of Bordeaux and Libourne. Departure at the parking of the Windmill of Grand Puy. Do not miss the outstanding visit of the windmill, the miller’s house and the amazing point of view of the township. Get down the coast. At the bottom, turn left and follow the road. At the crossroad, turn right to join the center of Lansac. On the left, there is the beautiful church of Saint Pierre. Follow the signs along it. Before coming back to the road D133, a path coming on the left to join the « Libarde’s Ballade ». To continue on the « Windmill Ballade », join the D133 and turn left. Continue straight ahead. After the descent, it is possible to take a little path that goes to the ruins of the castel of Lansac. Otherwise, follow the D133 until the crossroad with the D134. Then turn right and cross the road to join the passage at the end of the rows of vines to walk safely. At the signs, climb by the path on the left. At the top, pass through the vines up to the village « Noliquet ». At the crossroad with the road, turn right. In the locality « Viens », turn right in front of the beautiful mansion built in stone of Bourgeais. The stone comes from the quarries located in Prignac et Marcamps. Nowadays, one is still active visible with the « Ballade of the Moron ». Get down this path located between the vines and the grove until the crossroad with the road D134. Turn left and, few meters away, cross to engage the bottom of a grassy slope. Further away, get around the vines to arrive on a road. Turn right and follow the locality « Labrousse ». Continue until an other road. At the crossroad, turn right to join the bottom of the coast of the Windmill, and then get up to join the point where you started.

Occupied for 60 years, before and after Aurignacian, over 15000 tools and 6000 bones from 60 animal species have been found, sources of information on the evolution of the human race, the lithic and bone industry as well as the climate and environment. A jewel of Gironde prehistory, the cave has wall engravings dating from the start of the Upper Paleolithic period, between 33 000 and 26 000 years before our time. Using the natural relief of the walls, they were organised into horizontal friezes and represent, engraved next to one another, above one another or even head to toe, horses, mammoths, deer and even a Megaceros, an animal which is rarely depicted, and several ibex.

Château de la Rivière was built in 1577 on the remains of a fortified encampment raised by Charlemagne. It was restored in the 19th century under the eye of a group of renowned architects including Viollet Le Duc. Its 3 hectares of underground cellars are an ideal setting for maturing the wines it produces. The château’s grounds are open to all. The five Gîtes de France Bacchus 4 épis B&B rooms were awarded the golf “Best Of” award for wine tourism in 2007, in the “Accommodation” category.

A Romanesque church with three vaulted naves. The south aisle is gothic ; the door has the date 1829. Interior : 15th century statue of the Virgin holding the child Jesus (listed since 1970). The church was listed in 1925.

The church dates from the 12th century; the façade is topped by a bell-tower with two bays for the bells. It is decorated with corbels with indentations. The door is covered with four arches and the highest is surrounded by a cover-plate of stars. In the interior : main altar and stone reredos form the 18th century ; bronze bell from 1596 (listed monuments since 1925)

Pauline and Anne-Laure take over the family estate, the 5th generation of winegrowers in the Charpentier family at Puy Faure. We produce Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur wines, red and rosé, as well as sparkling grape juice, pet?nat (natural sparkling wine), vinegar and honey! Our aim is to convert the entire estate to agroforestry, recreating an ecosystem by planting local trees, as well as honey trees, in order to preserve the rich nature of our terroir. Our hives produce a typical Haute Gironde honey made from acacia, lime and field flowers. The bees stay in the apiary all year round, and the trees we are currently planting enable them to supplement their nectar and pollen supply throughout the season. We have recently opened a store adjacent to the winery where you can buy our wines

Statue of the Virgin of Meslier at Gauriaguet Legend has it that local parishioners buried this statue in a field during the wars of Religion. It was unearthed in the 17th century by an ox grazing in a coppice of gorse. Although placed twice in the church, on each occasion it was found again at the site of its discovery where a pedestal, with a recess added in the 18th century, was placed. "Notre dame de Meslier" has since become a site of pilgrimage and today there is a pilmigrimage evey 22nd August, the day of the commune's patron saint, St Symphorien

A vast porch with a sloping roof was placed in front of the wall-belfry with opening for bells in the middle of the arch. Three small Romanesque windows resemble arrow-slits. Completely restored in 1899, the bell-tower porch has been replaced by a graceful spire. 18 th century communion grill and cemetery cross ; listed since 1971 and 1973.

A Romanesque church fortified in the 12th and 16th centuries. The façade is Saintongeais-Romanesque and the door is topped with blind arcade decorated with chevrons. The square tower is crenellated and machicolated. interior ; 18th century painting of the Baptism of Christ (listed since 1982). The church was listed in 1908.
