Hike to the ancient Castelviel Oppidum, on the heights of Aiguèze

The Via Rhôna, from Lapalud to Caderousse, is a temporary signposted route in southern Lapalud on the left bank towards Vaucluse. The itinerary winds across the agricultural plain as far as the Canal de Donzère then continues onwards to the foot of the Fortress of Mornas and on to Piolenc. From Li Piboulo lake, you have two options. Continue towards Caderousse along the greenway bordering the Rhone. Join the Roman town of Orange and its famous triumphal arch. About 3.8 km from Lapalud is Girardes lake, where you can go swimming or choose from a variety of water and leisure activities. Make your way gently to the Provençal village of Caderousse surrounded by dykes protecting it from the unpredictable Rhone.

The Via Rhôna is a Eurovéloroute that links Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean and crosses the Vaucluse over approximately 72 km, divided into 2 stages: stage 17: Lapalud - Caderousse/Orange stage 18: Orange - Avignon

The distance for cycling around the Massif d'Uchaux is between 16 and 42 km.

In a setting with oak trees mainly predominating, the hiking trail leads up to the highest point of the Serre mountain, at an altitude of 549 metres, providing some truly exceptional views.

This greenway is exclusively reserved for pedestrians, cyclists and rollerbladers.... Signposts are installed all along the walk. It crosses the town from east to west, from the rond-point de l'Europe to the Espace de loisirs Saint-Paul 2003, passing through the gardens and strong heritage features of our town: Jardin Saint-Vincent, Orchard des Enfants de Barbière, Jardins du Resseguin. For your safety and enjoyment, the promenade is lit at night.

The Stone Trail is designed to help visitors discover the old paths and landscapes of the Saint Restitut commune. Departure point: Saint-Restitut information point (local post office) Cross the Combettes parking lot, climb the Resquillette path (stairs), cross the Four à Chaux crossroads and head for Suze. On the right hand side of the Madone, follow the road for 50m and turn left onto the Chemin des Travers, then a path leading down into the woods. When you reach the tarmac road (chemin des Gravières), follow it for 200m on your right, cross the crossroads and take a path through the woods. When you reach the Chemin de la Côte, immediately take a path to the right (steep climb) and you'll come to the asphalt road, turn left, follow it for 100m and turn left onto the Chemin du Baumas. Return to Chemin de la Côte and turn right onto Chemin des Buisses (steep climb). Continue along this path until you reach a crossroads (signpost and milestone B4), turn left onto chemin du Planès, continue straight ahead on chemin des écoliers, and take a small downhill path *(sign P5) overlooking the plain, the Ventoux, the Lance, etc. Leave the pumping station on your left. Continue on your right (sign P6). Follow the path over the rocks and through the woods (signpost B3), take the path rising to the left and chemin des Roches. Turn left onto Chemin du Planès, then right onto Chemin des Pieux (shared route). Follow it (sign P4) and take the tarmac road on the left. Back to the village. * Alternative option: turn right (long walk) and return to milestone B3. Leave the small village of Caderousse by a temporary Via Rhôna trail that leads to the peaks of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards before entering Avignon." The route climbs up around 1 km and crosses through hillside vineyards affording beautiful views over the Rhone Valley. After Sorgues and as far as Pontet, the 3.5-km route through industrial and commercial areas demands more vigilance until the greenway running along the canals, at the entrance to Avignon, a stunning way in to the former City of the Popes. If you have children in tow, it may be easier to take the train from Sorgues or Orange to Avignon.
