Leaving from Blandas. From Blandas, follow the D113 for around 300m, then take the PR on the right to go up towards the Fontaret woods, the fitness trail, then the St Jean cross, where you turn left onto the D843 for 1.5 km. The PR on your right will take you to the Route du Landre. At the crossroads before the hamlet, take the road on the right, then the GR on the right again, which takes you back to Blandas via a monotrace.

Leaving from Blandas. From the church, take the D158 (direction cirque de Navacelles) for about 500m, then turn left onto the PR that leads to Le Barral via the Château d'Assas. From Le Barral, 2.5km of minor road (the D413) takes you to the D485, where you turn left to reach Montdardier, cross the village to the village hall and then the start of the GR to Navas (short stretch of road, the D113a). Before the hamlet, take the PR on your left as far as Le Planas, then follow the GR7 on your right, first the road for 1.5 km, then a monotrace on your left which takes you back to your starting point in Blandas, after a few bumps.

Leaving from Blandas. This route takes you quickly to the cirque de Navacelles. From Blandas, follow the D113 for around 300m, then take the PR on the left to head up the cliff to Les Faïsses. From here, it's a short round trip of less than 2 km to admire the view of the cirque from the balcony of the belvédère des chênes. Back at Les Faïsses, take the single track that leads to the Rocher du Loup, and at the road turn right onto the balcony path that climbs slightly to Calorouge. At the crossroads, turn right onto the PR which takes you along the D113 before crossing the Fontaret woods and the fitness trail. At the Croix St Jean, take the D847 for almost 2 km, then the PR on your right and another short stretch of road to the hamlet of Quintanel. From here a PR will take you to Les Très Toullières, then a short stretch of road to Le Landre before rejoining the GR to Blandas.

Leaving from Blandas. This is a fairly demanding route, with a few portages! From Blandas, take the road to Le Vigan, then the GR to Le Landre. From there, turn right and follow the road for 1.5 km to La Planas and the start of the PR trail to the hamlet of Navas. At the road, turn right onto the D113a to the Chemin des Morts, where you'll find the GR leading to Montdardier. After passing through the village, once you've crossed the D48, you'll be on the common GTMC route for around 18 km. Just before Rogues, you turn off in the direction of Blandas and the cirque de Navacelles. You will follow the cliff on the GR before taking a small single that will lead you to the pas du loup (the view of the cirque is magnificent) and at the road you will go up on your right the balcony path to Calorouge. At the crossroads, turn right (the GTMC goes left) to enter the Fontaret woods and return to your starting point in Blandas.

Marker 1The mouflon is a ruminant mammal related to the domestic sheep. Its staple diet is herbaceous plants, which it finds in open spaces such as heaths. It also feeds on about a hundred other plants (ferns, mosses, mushrooms, etc.).The horns of the male (ram) are spiral-shaped and grow continuously, which makes it possible to estimate its age. The female (ewe) rarely has horns. The mouflon's life expectancy is around 14 years. Being an excellent climber, it can easily escape to steep areas in case of danger. These rocky zones also help limit the growth of its hooves through wear.

In his works, André Chamson constructed an imaginary Cévennes park. His writings bear witness to his love for the area and his attachment to his Huguenot ancestors. A nationally renowned writer, he was elected to the Académie française in 1956. His final works see time and death become more powerful than work or human faith.

Marker 6L'Abeuradou is located on a draille, a drovers' road for shepherds and their flocks to move between the plains of Languedoc and summer pastures on the southern Massif Central. The name L'Abeuradou indicates that it is a spot where the flocks drink and rest before continuing their long hike. Today's domestic sheep is descended from the mouflon. Since being introduced to the slopes of Mont Aigoual, the mouflon has thus been rubbing shoulders with its cousin, which grazes here in summer. Their cohabitation does not seem to be a problem for the livestock farmers.

Located in the Borgne Valley, in the commune of Les Plantiers, our Fontfouillouse gîte welcomes you to an unspoilt valley at the foot of a 12th-century Romanesque church. In the midst of the Cévennes chestnut grove, we have created our group gîte. Lime rendering and the use of chestnut wood blend perfectly with the original stone. The garden offers a variety of relaxation areas for a well-deserved rest. Situated on the edge of the GR70 and very close to the GR61, 'Le Pré de Modestine' is the ideal place to enjoy the end of Stevenson's route, or to organize hikes to discover the Cévennes. The gîte is located 1 km upstream from Saint Jean du Gard.
