Departing from the church in Lhoumois, you set off on a 10 km trail of easy difficulty. This course is aimed at beginners who are ready to progress to a higher level of difficulty. You'll ride mainly on wide paths and stretches of road, with many single-track sections requiring concentration and agility. This route will take you to the Forge à Fer on the banks of the Thouet, a place of great historical interest.

This 5.4 km circuit allows you to discover the heritage of the commune of Oroux, in particular its 2 castles (privately owned), and offers pretty views from the car park next to the village castle.

Departing from the Gourgé village hall, you'll set off on a 27 km red difficulty trail. It's a really interesting route, both in terms of scenery and technical difficulty, as you alternate constantly between asphalt and paths. The route is a real pain in the ass, with numerous ascents and descents. You'll cross the River Thouet several times at ford crossings, so be careful not to slip in the water! This route can be split in two by cutting through the village. A 13 km loop to the south and a 14 km loop to the north.

Discover the heritage and history of Gourgé during this 4 km walk. Gourgé is one of the most remarkable villages by its picturesque situation, from any side you arrive. Go and discover this village. La Chapelle-Betrand reveals itself during a tour for all. A rich vernacular heritage made up of wash houses and fountains will allow you to understand the history and daily life in the past in this small rural commune. Do not hesitate to make a detour to the place called Miolière to discover a pretty little chapel recently restored. All along the circuit, a signposting brings you keys to understand the history of the village with water as a common thread.

Departing from the church in Aubigny, you'll set off on a 15 km trail of moderate difficulty. Most of the route is on farm tracks, with stretches in the undergrowth, and a few short stretches require careful footing. There's a nice straight stretch on the way, which will make you work on your perseverance! You'll pass close to the Château de la Roche Faton, with its splendid view. You'll also discover a rich heritage with numerous wash-houses, wayside crosses and a dovecote.

In Châtillon-sur-Thouet, park on the car park of the greenway. A notice board will show you the starting point. Then follow the wooden markers with a bicycle and light green directional arrows. Without any particular indications, continue on your way. Discover the charm of the Gâtine and the Thouet valley: hedged farmland, waterways and scattered settlements.

This 3.5 km route in the heart of the town of Parthenay invites you to discover the emblematic sculptures of the town and their history. Please note that people with reduced mobility must be accompanied to take the paths that lead to the discovery of certain statues.

The gîte is located in the heart of the medieval quarter. On the first floor, there is a garage for bicycles and strollers, but no cars. The gîte comprises an open-plan space on the second floor, divided into a living room, kitchen and dining area with a medieval fireplace. This floor opens onto a courtyard with garden furniture. The second floor comprises the master bedroom with double bed (140 cm x 190 cm) overlooking the medieval street, a second bedroom with two single beds (90 cm x 190 cm), a study, toilet and shower. The interior of the gîte is non-smoking. Down the street, you'll find a bar-grocer's store 50 meters away, as well as other bars and restaurants 200 meters away, near the Saint-Jacques tower and the Thouet river. Built in the 12th century, like the church, the Cross of the old cemetery is the work of the monks of Talmont. Classified as a historical monument in 1890, it is one of the most beautiful and highest in the department (12 m) including the circular step on which it stands. Composed of four semi-engaged columns in granite of the country, it ends in a cross set in a circle which distinguishes it from the lanterns of the dead as it still exists in cemeteries of Poitou-Charentes, at the top of which, one hoisted at night on certain dates, a torch or a lamp to recall the memory of the dead or to guide lost pilgrims... Croix Hosannière means "to receive crowns of hosanna, i.e. crowns of sacred boxwood". One went in procession at the foot of this monument on Palm Sunday, Corpus Christi or on August 15th.

The granite La Peyratte church became a classified historic monument in 1913. It was probably financed by a grant from Seigneur Kadelon de la Peyratte to the Benedictine monks of Sainte-Croix Abbey in Talmont. The monks built a priory here in the 11th century and the present church in the 12th century.

The castle is included in a polygonal space delimited by farm buildings. It dates from the end of the medieval period (15th-16th century) and has a fortified character. Its rear façade is flanked by two round towers at the corners. The courtyard façade has a central doorway topped by a moulded pediment. The chapel is attached to the main building. It is a rectangular building with a 14th century moulded roofing framework. The remains of the portal and the eastern bay can be seen in the masonry. This chapel is decorated with wall paintings (14th century) that are not very legible and from which stand out large standing figures (apostles? Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian?).

Located in the Thouet valley, 1.5 km from the centre of La Peyratte, the Carrière du Pont has been operated by the CMGO company since the takeover by the COLAS group in 2012 of the Rambaud family business created in the 1950s. This quarry extends on both sides of the Thouet river and covers an area of nearly 80 ha. The average annual production capacity of the site is 1.3 million tonnes per year. Free visits to the quarry as part of the "Man and Stone" association's calendar of free events: visits with a tour guide and a company technician allow you to go down to the heart of the quarry and discover all its special features. The "Belvédère des Roches", open all year round, offers a panorama of the quarry: 2 panels explain the extraction and transformation industry in a massive rock quarry.

The Roches lookout, open all year round, offers a panoramic view of the quarry and the Gâtine Poitevine landscape. Two panels explain the quarrying and processing industry, allowing visitors to explore the site independently. Located in the Thouet valley, 1.5 km from the center of La Peyratte, the Pont quarry has been operated by CMGO since the COLAS Group took over the Rambaud family business, founded in the 1950s, in 2012. The quarry stretches along both sides of the Thouet, covering an area of almost 80 hectares. Free tours are scheduled every summer (see "L'Homme et la Pierre" program). Commented by a guide and a technician from the company, they take visitors down to the heart of the quarry to discover all its special features.

The Forge à Fer was built in 1645/1649 at La Peyratte. The presence of iron ore in the commune explains the presence of this forge. Mentioned as early as 1179, burnt down in 1417, the Château de Guy de La Rochefaton was rebuilt in the 14th and 15th centuries by Mathurin Pidoux. In the 17th century, the Vassé family endeavored to transform the castle accesses. They designed formal or "French" gardens, constructed common grounds on the sides in the place of fortified walls and set up salons in accordance with the fashions of the times. Charles Marie Auguste de Beaumont, future marquis of Autichamp, celebrated Vendée general, generalissimo of the Catholic et royal armies of Anjou and Haut-Poitou, reposes in the Saint Nicolas chapel.
