This wide and famous road leading up to the resort of Avoriaz provides endless opportunities to enjoy the mountain views. Gradient: 6% An iconic route climbed officially for the first time during the 1975 Tour de France. The best time - 33 minutes - still belongs to Bernard Hinault. Every summer two Morzine-Avoriaz races are hosted by the Morzine-Avoriaz Bike Club on 14th July and on the second Sunday in August. A clocking-in and out machine is available all summer so you can time yourself. Cards available from Morzine and Avoriaz tourist offices. The climb starts from Morzine church.

This is less difficult than the southern route, but it’s very steep from the off! Highlights include the fine finish area, next to a little lake once you’ve passed the Ranfolly col. Gradient: 6.5%

A nature walk along the Dranse river following the former Alpine trail to Nyon. Looking out for foxes along the way which are native to this valley. A path to stroll along the Dranse. From the Super Morzine Gondola, take the lift down to the swimming Pool, and start the Dereches river walk. All along the river you will find wooden exercise obsticals, a kids play area, horse stables and tree climbing. A walk not to miss!

Quiet descent around the golf course of Les Gets. Difficulty: blue Difference in high: +30m and -280m Length: 3,2km

A steep-as-you-like climb which starts alongside beautiful Montriond Lake. A hard view to pass up, and certainly one to do on the way down. Watch out for the goats roaming free in Lindarets village! Gradient: 6% This legendary col has featured in the Tour de France seven times. Quite shady at first and consisting of steeper ramps between long false flats, the gradient kicks up to 10% after Montriond. Be careful when going through Les Lindarets, as it is not unusual to find herds of goats nonchalantly occupying the road! The final section of the climb is more regular, zigzagging up through the forest to the Col de Joux verte.

From Avoriaz, join our trails with its 4 linked sectors: Seraussaix, Lindarets, Proclou and Super Morzine. Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the largest mountain bike area in Europe, the possibilities of itineraries from the Avoriaz Bike Park are immense. 18 trails through the mountain pastures and forests, designed for all levels and maintained by a team of passionate shapers. Riders will find here a fun and varied terrain to express themselves. The area is equipped with repair arms and tools, karchers, water points, barbecues and self-service picnic areas.

In the studio, Anouk et Nathalie create useful and decorative ‘Made in Les Gets’ pieces. POTTERY APPRENTICES We propose initiations of turning and modelling to all public (adult and child) every Monday morning from 10 am to noon. The pieces are glazed, fired and returned the following Friday.

A slate-quarry worker welcomes you into his workshop to present the history of Morzine's 200-years old slate industry and demonstrates his modern work-techniques.

This stunning lake - known also as the emerald green lake - sits quietly at the foot of immense cliffs and is a favourite with children and adults thanks to the idyllic view and the feeling of calm it evokes. Lake Montriond is a huge outdoor playground with something for everyone. It includes a swimming area that’s suitable for very young swimmers (lifeguards in July and August), while other visitors can try pony riding, canoeing, paddle. Older children and adults also enjoy walking around the lake to take in the intoxicating beauty of it all... The lake is also a jewel of a find for anglers, with its healthy stock of fario trout and rainbow trout, char and tiddlers! A fishing licence is required.

Live the experience of a night in the middle of nature on a bivouac set up in the heart of the Proclou forest. However, if you only reserve one tent, the second tent may be occupied by another group at the same time as you. Equipment available for each tent: 5 inflatable mattresses or 5 single camp beds with disposable protective covers, 1 battery-operated camping lamp, 1 outdoor metal storage trunk, 1 20L water container.

The majestic Ardent waterfall high above Montriond village is half-way between Lake Montriond and Les Lindarets. It's emblematic of the valley, with its spectacular setting that captures the magic and splendour of the area.

Located at the bottom of the Manche Valley, about 15 minutes from the center of Morzine, this small bucolic lake benefits from a very pleasant environment conducive to walks with its passes, mountain pastures and coniferous forests that surround it. In summer, the Mines d´Or Lake is accessible from the road by car or on foot from Chemin du Renard. Once there, you can walk on the path that goes around the lake, fish (subject to purchasing your fishing license), eat at the Mines d'Or restaurant, go hiking at the Col de Cou at the Swiss border or enjoy a mini-golf party. In winter, the Mines d´Or lake is accessible by ski touring or snowshoeing, the atmosphere is calm and soothing. Access to hiking trails is possible with the necessary safety equipment.

At the heart of the alpine Graydon pasture, under the hardened eye of the majestic roc d’enfer, you find the little Graydon chapel. It was built in 1859 and then entirely renovated in 2009 The Graydon chapel constructed in 1859, allowed for the parishes of ST Jean d’Aulps and that of Essert Romand, separated a few years earlier to keep a certain link between them. It was in 1902 that the Swiss architect, Goss, constructed the entrance porche where two Capitals where added that came from the Aulps Abbey. The mountain hut is situated at the Col de la Golèse in the middle of an alpine meadow. It offers a wonderful panorama on the south side overlooking the Giffre valley and Samoëns and on Morzine and Manche valley on the north side. Located on the route of the GR5, GRP Dents blanches and Tour du Haut Giffre, the Golèse refuge is a starting point for many hikes, and you can stay here for one or more days in charming rooms or dormitories. Accessible to all from the age of 5 in 1h30 (600m ascent), the refuge was completely rebuilt in the 90s. The Baud family, who own the refuge, have been welcoming you for over 25 years to this charming alpine setting. Along the trail, you'll discover a rich variety of mountain plants and, if you're discreet, all the wild fauna of our mountains. This autumn, come and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors and a fine meal of game. This winter, the ascent will be groomed and you'll be able to access the refuge on snowshoes or cross-country skis.

In the heart of the authentic Abondance valley, join in one hour's walk a beautiful refuge, located at 1500 m altitude at the foot of Mount Grange. It proposes you the accomodation and small restauration. And because a refuge is, first and foremost, a stage on the road of the walker, you only have to follow the path to arrive at the lake of Tavaneuse, at the foot of the mount Grange (2432m) or even to Prétairié . Each building is equipped with a kitchenette with two gas, dishes, bowls and allows those who wish to be autonomous. The large building includes the kitchen, a large dining room and a dormitory of 18 persons. The sheepfold has 13 places, it is a haven of peace, easy to heat in winter thanks to its wood stove. Possibility to sleep in half-board, breakfast+night or in free management. Library, bocce, games for children.

This idyllic alpine pasture in the heart of Les Portes du Soleil, easily accessible on foot or by chairlift, is a popular picnic destination for families and a renowned fishing spot! Built in the 19th century, the Refuge de Chesery was initially just a sturdy cowshed. Renovated in 1987, the bulding was transformed into a welcoming refuge. For over two decades, the refuge was run by the Es-Borrat family, until 2008 when they handed it over William Grenon. He, along with his vast herds of sheep, has been summering here since 1982. You'll find him still here today, caring for his sheep and offering his own local products and Valaisan specialties for sale at the refuge.

Above Samoëns and isolated in the mountains, the Bostan refuge is the ideal place to welcome hikers for a short break or for the night. Accommodation and catering in the mountains. Home and local products. Pleasure for the eyes and taste buds. . It overlooks the Giffre valley and the town of Samoëns. - In summer, it is easily accessible on foot, for everyone in around 1 hour 45 minutes from the Allamands car park and gives the possibility of trekking in a loop for a day or over several days. - In winter, the valley is a classic for all levels, both on skis and on snowshoes (Col de Bostan - head of Bostan) - about 2 hours. At the refuge, you will find a warm welcome in a friendly atmosphere. You can eat at noon, and in the evening you quench your thirst at any time and sleep (it is recommended to book in advance).

Built in 1906 in the tranquil Barme valley, the Cantine des Dents Blanches was originally an alpine farm. Today it is a lovely mountain restaurant, popular with hikers and nature lovers. The first time you discover Barme it's easy to think you've passed through the Pearly Gates. Starting from the place we call Grand Paradis, this bucolic alpine valley can be reached on foot or by car. By car, the narrow road winds several kilometres through thick forests and along steep mountainsides until, suddenly, there is a break in the trees and the valley appears, spread out below like an illustration right out of Heidi. Nestled in a sunny spot near a bubbling stream with the formidable Barme climbing rock at its back, the Cantine des Dents Blanches is a favourite stop for epicureans in search of local specialties, families out for a Sunday stroll and weary hikers on the Tour des Dents Blanches. Fondue and cheese on toast, crêpes, and waffles served up in our cosy dining room and on the large, sunny terrace, we take pride in our homemade, locally-sourced cuisine. We also offer a large selection of delicious regional wines. The Barme Valley can be reached by a narrow mountain road from Grand Paradis (about 25 minutes by car). Hikers can reach us via any number of hiking trails (about 1h30 from Champéry).
