The GR®46 long-distance hiking trail links Tours to Toulouse over a total distance of 945 km. In Corrèze, the 150 km route leads from Lacelle in the north, in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches, to Turenne, one of France's most beautiful villages, with its superb castle perched on a rocky promontory offering 360° panoramic views over the Causse and Quercy landscapes. Along the way, you'll discover Treignac, a Petite Cité de Caractère nestled in the Massif des Monédières, and also Uzerche, labelled "Plus Beau Détour de France", otherwise known as La Perle du Limousin with its rich heritage. You don't have a car, or you're looking for an eco-responsible holiday? The entire itinerary can be completed from the stations at Lacelle, Uzerche, Vigeois, Estivaux, Allassac and Turenne.

Let yourself be guided through the commune of Chamboulive, a green haven of peace where, according to the proverb, "nothing is missing". During your walk you will discover two castles: the 18th century Gourdon castle, with its round towers, and the 15th century Faurie castle, with its square tower. You can also admire the Monédières from the viewpoint of the Vicomte Haut.

Alternating landscapes of plain and undergrowth, this loop goes on the heights, offering superb points of view on the countryside. Passing through charming little hamlets, it leads to the Linatre pond, where a few fishermen still wait. The old village of Affieux is part of a registered site including the 17th century castle (private) and the church of Saint-Pardoux. The railway station, now restored, used to host the former POC (Paris-Orléans-Corrèze). Warning: access to the Rocher des Folles site is forbidden to mountain bikers and horse riders (dangerous).

Going from village to village, this hike without any difficulty will make you discover open landscapes, admire views on the Monédières, the sleeping Vézère... You will be seduced by the charm of our Limousin, with the sunken path marked by the wheels of the old carts, the old school of the Châtaignier, the meadows and the undergrowth which lend themselves to the play of light.

Continue behind the church, a lectern allows you to discover the Massif des Monédières and the Vézère Valley.Then leave in the direction of the main road (Uzerche Chamberet).Turn right at the communal oven and continue straight ahead. After 200 m, on the left, it is possible to see the “Lauzanne” oven.Follow the path that leads to a road, turn right, and you can see the “Jorby-Caudy” oven on the left. Continue along the road, and 100 m further, on the right, you will find the “Faroux” oven.Shortly after, turn left at the well. At the end of the path, a round trip allows you to see the oven of “Le Genêt” 150 m further on. Retrace your steps and turn right to go through the hamlet of Le Teyssier.At the crossroads, go past the “du Teyssier” oven, continue right until you reach the Rilhac-Treignac sign, and turn left towards La Goupillère.In the village, from the path, you can see the “La Goupillère” oven. Continue along the path that runs alongside the meadow, then climb the path to the right after the small stream.Once you get to the road, turn right and follow the path back to Rilhac-Treignac (short circuit of 4.7 km). Or turn left and follow the yellow markings (long circuit + 5 km).

The present-day church has undergone numerous alterations. Its main feature is a slate-roofed, timber-framed bell-tower, which has long had a reputation for leaning. Side chapels have been added at various times. The oldest is the 16th-century chapelle de la Vierge on the south side, vaulted with ogives, the key of which bears the coat of arms of the Malengue de Lespinasse family: 3 fish in reverse, now the official coat of arms of the commune. Polychrome wooden altarpiece dated 1783. On either side of a Calvary scene, polychrome wooden statues of St. Martin and St. Antoine abbot are displayed in niches. Small statue of Saint Roch, much venerated in the region, with his dog carrying him a loaf of bread.

Le Lonzac is also a place of remembrance. In memory of the 18 inhabitants killed by the SS in April 1944, the commune is recognized as a martyred village and honors the fallen on its memorial path.

In April 1944, two months before the Tulle massacres, eighteen inhabitants of Lonzac in Corrèze were shot by the Nazis. The village, recognized as a Martyr's Village following the atrocities committed in the spring of 1944 by the Brehmer Division, is now recognized as a "Chemin de Mémoire", the fourth in the Corrèze department.

The Etang de la Ganetorte is a charming little pond in the commune of Le Lonzac. Casting anglers will be delighted to catch pike-perch, pike, roach, tench and trout. The rules? Surrounded by old mansions with Mansard roofs, the 12th and 14th century church, a listed historic monument, boasts a flamboyant Gothic portal, a bell tower pierced by geminated bays and a fine collection of statuary. The puy Saint-Damien and its small chapel of dressed stone dominate the area around the village, offering a panoramic view of the Monédières mountains.

The chevet is the most interesting part of the church, built in the 12th or 13th century on a polygonal plan. A south side chapel was probably added in the 15th century. The bell tower-wall dates from 1748. It contains 2 bells (1628 and 1733). Inside, a fine collection of polychrome stone statues from the late 15th and early 16th centuries: St. Margaret of Antioch emerging from the mouth of a dragon, St. Catherine of Alexandria with the sword of her beheading, St. Anthony abbot with his pig, another holy hermit and a bishop, perhaps St. Blaise, patron saint of the church.

The church (12th - 15th century) is preceded by a deep, raised portal with a massive two-storey bell tower. The aisled nave dates back to the 15th century, with embellished keystones and a cupola on pendentives. The church features several 16th-century polychrome stone statues of Saints Michael, John the Baptist, Damien, Como, Martial and Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
