Welcome to Saint-Mexant's largest hiking trail, following the contours of the commune and even taking in a few paths in the neighboring communes of Favars and St Clément. An ideal route for walking or mountain biking!

By following this circuit, you will discover that the commune of Saint Germain-les-Vergnes, in spite of its rural aspect, was a high place of the seigniory. Undergrowth, pastures, a gravel path running alongside the Corrèze, a waterfall, a footbridge and log steps... reach the arboretum of the Office National des Forêts... discover the village of Cornil and its built heritage which, at the foot of its Romanesque church and medieval keep, overlooks the picturesque Corrèze valley.

You will cross the forest of Puy Mirat before joining the banks of the Corrèze. While going up from Meydiaux to Fougères, above the quarries, panorama on the valley. In Fougères, old restored chapel. Variant of 7 km: at 150m at the exit of the village of Dessas, possible shortcut to return to the village by crossing the orchards.

You'll make your way through the Couze valley and over the ridges that dominate our commune... At Puy de Leyrat, just before the village of Vieillefond, panoramic views of the lower Corrèze. On your route: two old watermills, at Bourguet and Saquet. Possible 6 km variation: at Vieillefond, you can take a shortcut back to the village, via the village of Latreille.
