Tulle, the préfecture (main administrative centre) of the Corrèze, has an attractive, unspoilt atmosphere. Its main attraction is the medieval quarter of the Enclos, a maze of narrow streets and staircases that wind between tall houses adorned with wooden balconies. Near the cathedral, the Maison Loyac is an architectural masterpiece dating from the 16C. Tulle is famous for its lace and is also the capital of the accordion, which is celebrated every year at the Festival des Nuits de Nacre.

Gimel stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the magnificent Gorges de la Montane. Here, the three waterfalls known as the Saut, Redole and Queue-de-Cheval stand at a height of between 38 and 60 metres. A footpath leads to these unforgettable falls, allowing visitors to appreciate the force of the water at close proximity. In the village, Église St Pardoux houses the priceless enamel shrine of St Etienne.

The President Jacques Chirac Museum houses the 5,000 diplomatic gifts given to the President between 1995 and 2007. Jacques Chirac in turn became a donor by choosing to give them to the Departmental Council of Corrèze. In addition to this initial function, there is now a desire to present to visitors the character of the President of the Republic, and more particularly the history of the role and powers of the eight heads of state of the Fifth Republic. This transformation will take place over several seasons, but will begin in 2023 with the discovery of the office of the Presidents of the Republic in the Élysée Palace, the Salon Doré. The diplomatic gifts given to Jacques Chirac are and will always be presented in the heart of the visitable reserve. Temporary or seasonal exhibitions are also available.

The Lac des Bariousses in Treignac (99ha) is the ideal destination for a relaxing or sporty day out, with family or friends. On site, you will find a beach with supervised swimming, picnic tables, children's games, a volleyball court, a bowling alley and a snack bar. It is also possible to stay in a 3-star campsite facing the lake. The beach is accessible to all thanks to its PRM access (tapirail) and a TIRALO® amphibious swimming chair. With the Station Sports Nature Vézère-Monédières, rent your canoe-kayak, your stand-up paddle, your pedal boat or your electric fishing boat. You can also try out all types of nature sports. The beach of the Bariousses lake has been awarded the "Pavillon Bleu" (blue flag), a guarantee of good environmental quality.

The medieval town of Treignac is situated at the foot of Les Monédières, on the banks of the River Vézère. Old bridges dating from the 13C, chapels, a corn market, a 15C tower and numerous old houses make this an attractive town to visit. Treignac is also renowned for its white-water sports and has hosted the World Canoeing Championships.

The orientation table provides a magnificent panorama of the Limousin Mountains and the Millevaches plateau. The Monéfières massif is a rolling landscape. The Auvergne can be seen if the weather is clear: the Dôme, Dore and Cantal mountains.

The Corrèze river has given its name to this charming small town and to the département. Dating back to the 9C, the old fortified town has retained its slate roofs and parts of its ramparts last breached in the 16C.

La découverte du temple gaulois daté du second siècle avant notre ère, situé sous le fanum et des objets qui s'y trouvaient (carnyx et casques zoomorphes) a permis de mieux connaître les rites religieux des Gaulois et leur maîtrise des techniques métallurgiques. Les luxueux bâtiments gallo- romains implantés par la suite sont, eux, un élément pour comprendre le processus d'assimilation du peuple gaulois au sein de l'Empire. Pourtant, Tintignac est loin d'avoir livré tous ses secrets.
