A MODEL FACTORY-BOARDING SCHOOL Founded in Lyon in 1810, in 1835 the Bonnet company set up a factory-boarding school in Jujurieux, described at the time as "the most complete establishment in the world". Renowned for its excellent know-how, the Lyon-based company expanded from the south of France to Italy, Poland, Serbia, Abyssinia, London, New York and Paris. EXCEPTIONAL COLLECTIONS Linked to the most illustrious names in haute couture, such as Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint-Laurent, Lanvin, Lacroix and Valentino, the Musée des Soieries Bonnet's collections bear witness to a singular history, whether through its crafts or its workers. An exceptional heritage, Soieries Bonnet has long been more than just a factory, but a city within a city. Chapel, bursar's office, workers' housing estates, school... The site welcomed over 13,000 workers over a hundred years, and even exported its paternalistic organization to Japan. LEAD THE INVESTIGATION A priceless fabric has been stolen from the Soieries Bonnet museum! Find the culprit in this giant Cluedo as you discover the secrets of the workers at the French silk factory. The old castle of the Blains, today convert into a town hall, boasts some treasures, noticeable during the Heritage Days. After the cultural discovery, let’s go to a more athletic discovery. At the heart of a wood the pathways will lead you in the different hamlets with their traditional stone houses and little heritage, at the top of the hills with majestic points of view on the Ain lowland… At the corner of a pathway, on the hights of Merland, a surprising meeting is waiting for you : the Highland Cattle, Scottish cows with long brown fur, free-range farmed . Fishing hobbyists could install their fishing rods on one of two equipped lakes, the lake of Vorgey and the lake of Longeville, ideal to discover the canoeing. The menu is prepared using local produce selected from 22 committed producers. When you walk through the door of Marché Balmolan, you meet Céline, a young woman with a passion for preparing delicious local dishes. The menu, which follows the rhythm of the seasons and is supplied daily, features local specialities but is also perfect for vegetarians. The restaurant is located at the very heart of the grocery shop, between the shelves of wines, local spices, jams, craft beers and spreads.... In season, you can also enjoy the outdoor terrace overlooking the cliffs of the Isle Crémieu. The bread that accompanies the menus and is also available for sale is baked every Sunday over a wood fire. There is an oven in front of the shop.
