You will be able to access its various rooms, notably the private drawing rooms. The sinuous alleys lead the visitor to the "ornamentation factories", small constructions of varied architectures. The river skirting the domain traces the northen limit. The property Caillebotte is harmoniously integrated into the countryside landscape that once characterized the small village of Yerres. Rich owners, from Borrel to Caillebotte, gave a beautiful look to this sublime English garden. Today, the public garden offers to the visitor an exceptional geographical situation, its preserved views, beautiful trees and all curiosities that history patiently composed. The Yerres river banks kept their charm. The pictorial presence of Gustave Caillebotte, still identifiable, brings a higher dimension to this place of heritage, which bears the name of an artist and exceptional man. The Caillebotte's House is located at the geographical center of the municipality of Yerres. Typical of the 19th century, it was built in the 1830's, in the "English" style with an irregular layout.

The wooded park of the 19th century is arranged along a canal and overlooks a 17th century French garden and an orangery. At the heart of the estate, the Nymphée: a room decorated with rockeries and shells of the late 17th century. The Nymphée is listed as a Historical Monument since March 22, 1983 and is one of the rare examples still existing of this type of decor, very popular under Louis XIV. Called nymphaeum, from the name of the Greek deities of the rivers, woods and mountains, it is a decor very fashionable at the time, as are the shells collections in the "cabinets of curiosity". Inspired by Antiquity and revived under the Italian Renaissance, the Nymphée intends to represent the mystery of creation, before becoming an inevitable part of gardens and buildings decoration, a cool place conducive to relaxation. The vaulted room construction dates from 1674 to 1692, date of the estate purchase by Mrs. Despinville. The room is then enriched with shells and rockery from older sets coming from a destroyed house that was deep in the park.

With more than 25,000 objects, a million photographs, a library and a unique technical documentary collection, the French Museum of Photography brings together one of the most important collections internationally. In 1960, two passionate amateurs, Jean and André Fage, opened an associative museum in Bièvres. For more than thirty years they brought together images and objects testifying to the history of photography. The Departmental Council of Essonne welcomes you to a departmental museum approved "Museum of France" since 2003. The French Museum of Photography offers a temporary exhibitions program that allows to rotate the museum three funds: images, devices and documentation. With an exceptional collection of nearly a million images, 25,000 materials, more than 50,000 printed documents (books, manuals, catalogs, magazines, posters, etc.), from 1839 to the present day, the French Museum Photography aims to tell the story and history of photography! How were pictures taken in 1850, during the First World War or at the end of the 20th century? How were images disseminated at a time when we did not know yet how to reproduce them in books and newspapers? How did chemistry make them appear in the darkness of the laboratory, long before computers, printers and digital networks are invented? Why did we move from a complex craft to a flourishing industry and a universal practice? What is the use of billions of photos produced, reproduced, classified, preserved and sometimes forgotten or discarded? Begin to answer these questions, and many others, by discovering surprising images, mysterious objects, amusing commercials... thanks to the museum, we try to understand our "civilization of the image", to form our critical eye, to discover the little stories that make up the great History of the image.

The museum is part of a heritage conservation approach and invites the public to discover lost or forgotten crafts. The museum tour is guided by volunteers of the LADO Association, founded in 1983. The association aims safeguarding the handicraft heritage. Located in the inner village, in a renovated building, it has three levels totaling approximately 150 m2. You can discover cathedral builders and bronze-smiths on the ground floor then trades of the thread (haberdashery, seamstress, lacemaker ...), milliner and linen maid on the 1st floor, and finally the woodwork on the 2nd floor. Bièvres tool fair takes place on May 1st of each year.

The Saint-Lazare farm, farm of Solidarity Studies and building sites of Ile-de-France, is a farm for educational purposes. Composed by an organic market gardening site, a farm animation and an apiary, it welcomes all audiences. To come to Saint-Lazare farm is also to support solidarity action. The project is an action of insertion and remobilization with people in social and professional difficulty. Currently at the farm: chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, goats and dwarf pigs.

This site was classified on 07/07/2000 along the river Bièvre, which has its source in Guyancourt and flows into the Seine in Paris. This natural area is rich in heritage and has the advantage of being close to Versailles and Paris. The municipalities crossed by the Upper Bièvre Valley are : Guyancourt, Buc, Les Loges-en-Josas, Jouy-en-Josas, Vélizy-Villacoublay, Bièvres, Saclay, Vauhallan, Igny, Massy and Verrières-le-Buisson.
