Starting from the church square, look up to see the rooster at the top of the bell tower. It's one of the biggest in the region. You'll also be able to enjoy numerous views of the surrounding countryside.

Aureil is located 20 minutes south of Limoges. At the start of your walk, the 11th-century church has a rooster at the top of its steeple. The "sentier des murets" is not particularly difficult. At 3.5km, it's an ideal walk for families. The trail follows the small dry-stone walls typical of our region.

The 11.1km route takes you on a tour of the surrounding countryside and small heritage sites. At the bend in the path, you'll come across a dovecote.

The path from the soul of the donkey to the rio negro, situated in the commune of La Geneytouse, is a very beautiful circuit presenting the Limousin countryside. The final 19.5 km stage of the GR® de Pays Monts et Barrages en Limousin between Saint-Paul and Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat takes you across the wide plateaus interspersed with valleys, cradle of the Limousin breed. After leaving the Saint-Paul basin, you reach the Allois forest before descending into the Vienne valley. The village of Chigot is home to the family of the famous master glassmaker Francis Chigot (1879-1960), famous for the stained glass he produced in his Limoges workshop, which was sold both in France and around the world. Cross the Vienne River on the medieval bridge in the faubourg of Noblat before reaching the historic heart of Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, with its collegiate church and half-timbered houses.

Known to have existed since the 12th century, the Abbey of Les Allois housed an important community of Benedictine nuns. Following its impoverishment, the abbey was abandoned in 1750. The sisters left the area to settle in the Quartier de la Cité in Limoges, giving their name to the Rue des Allois. Today, only one building remains from the abbey and has been converted into a dwelling. Some elements of the façade bear witness to its history: a carved shield, aligned corbels and a carved capital.

The Notre Dame chapel was built at the instigation of Father Louis Bayle in 1949 in the village of Les Allois. Simple in plan, it is built in granite, with a single nave, a triangular walled bell tower topped by a cockerel weather vane and a broken arch portal. The chapel houses a statue of the pregnant Virgin, a painted wooden Christ and a sculpture of the Virgin of Piety. Dating from the 12th - 13th century, and listed as historic monuments, they come from the former parish chapel

This was originally a well, marked by a wooden cross; the water was famous for treating rheumatism. A chapel was built more recently on this site; small square plan construction opened on one side by a basket-handle arch surmounted by a small granite cross as a keystone. Inside are some objects bearing witness to the passage of pilgrims through the ages: porcelain cup, votive, candlestick... At the rear of the building, a niche houses several statues of saints.

Jean-Marie de Saint Nicolas organizes tours of the "Pierres Initiatiques de Saint-Nicolas", a monumental park of sculptures, engravings, imaginary constructions and a village of atypical granite architecture. Crafted since 1981 by Jean-Marie himself, the park has been overlooked since 2022 by the "Jeanne" and "Léonard" towers, from which you can admire the landscape from their heights of 5 and 7 meters respectively.
